Traded my Skyrocket for a NIB Titan 2 today, mainly because my Focus has a cracked screen and I "accidentally" found myself using it again this week. Looks like some things have changed since I left and others are the same.
Is there an interop unlock or a full unlock for this phone yet? I understand it took forever for the 1st Titan to be fully unlocked. I only have a student dev account so the Nokia ESPN app, Nokia Drive, Nokia Maps, and the apps I'm developing would blow past the 3 sideload limit.

I am guessing you are a little new to Windows Phone right? Rooting is only done on Android devices.
Now to answer your question ...there are three levels of unlocking standards for WP. -I will post a link from the WP thread explaining these level of unlocks entirely when I am not busy.
http://forums.wpcentral.com/titan/189096.htm
A short a sweet version is (1) The Developer Unlock (2) The Interop Unlock (3) The God Mode Unlock -Full Unlock
As of right now, the Titan, Titan 2, - and any second gen HTC WP device is only able to do the developer unlock at the moment. -Developer unlocks can only side load apps. In order for us to have a custom ROM we must have an unlocked bootloader. -Which is also not currently available for our phones just yet.
Alrighty then, now you have a little understanding of what we can/can't do just yet. Tune in and be patient and we might get something soon.

any of these levels involve unlocking for different sim carriers?

Nope! That's a separate sort of unlocking I'm afraid. You might need unlock codes to carrier unlock.
So, what options for dev unlock titan 2?
Thanks

To Dev unlock...for free...you have to be a student, otherwise if not a student you have to pay 99$ to dev unlock your phone.
this thread should help you out.

$99 is not just unlock your phone. You get to publish apps you wrote and unlock up to 5 phones.

Also may I add that $99 is not one-off. It is $99 per year.
The bottom line is if you are not going to publish apps, there is no reason to spend that $99/yr. Dev unlock only gives you ability to side load apps. That's about it.
Too bad, there are several apps that I would like to be able to side-load. But that is not worth $99 annually.
Thanks

if I buy a Titan II from the US, can i use it in India and flash a current/latest custom ROMs?
From my experience with a Titan 2 there is no way to install a custom ROM or even a Stock ROM, They were only ever released for AT&T and although you can unlock them for use on other carriers you will be stuck with AT&T setings and not be able to use MMS,
At least that was what I found out earlier in the Year when I purchased one from USA,
Best of luck.
Not completely accurate -
there is one stock ROM around for the Titan II - I haven't tried it, but there you are - no one has reported back after flashing it to say if it is useful....
If you carrier unlock a Titan II and take it somewhere else it will depend if the carrier you use has the same frequencies as AT&T, and also whether the HTC connections app can help you out. The app is designed to facilitate use of HTC phones on other carriers by trying to set up the connection specs for you. I don't know how effective it is, I'm on AT&T.....
So there you go....

You are correct! Thanks to the HTC Titan II, I made absolutely sure that when I bought another device it was the Titan I, not the Titan II despite it's better camera and LTE. I'm eyeballing one of the Windows Phone 8 models but I'm saying to myself if Microsoft and carriers have perfected making the Titan II bootloader unlockable then what will the future bring. Windows Phone 7 should have been what Windows Phone 8 is and I'm hoping with the formal release of Windows Phone 7.8 in early 2013 there will be more substance to the release than just the customized tile display; I mean for Christ's sake if that is all there is to it then release it to Windows Phone 7 devices. That said, I'm hoping what is released will allow us to run programs like Skype in background.
On my Lumia 800 I have these two issues and not on my HTC Titan. Hence I am presuming it is device specific bug and not OS related or services related.
1) I can't get my twitter to link on Lumia. Every time I add it, it does 'connecting to twitter' for a few minutes and then takes me back to emails+accounts. Nothing is added there, in people hub or under me tile!
2) I can't open any links - in emails, facebook, news articles, blog posts or IE! I tap on the hyperlinks and it does nothing!
Anyone else heard/know of these issues? Any solution suggestions?
I've done a hard reset and this is my 2nd handset. First one had exactly the same issues. Plus battery only lasts about 4-5 hours on this as well as the last one.
Got it on contract with o2.
Have you got the latest firmware? 1600.2487.8107.12070, That was meant to enhance the battery issue, Links working from emails etc on mine ok, gave up using Twitter so can't really comment, Hope ya sort it.

Did you give up twitter because you don't tweet any longer or you gave up because you can't sync it as well?
Know anyone else who had something similar?
I've talked to Nokia support, Nokia care, Zune support and Windows Phone UK - none of them have a clue!
I've been to O2 store twice now, they keep hard reseting my phone ffs and still doesn't fix anything!
Now they want me to send in my phone for repairs. Only had it for like 5 days and already had 2 replacements both with same issues - am sure it isn't a repair issue here :s
No gave up Twitter because it was ****e! and mainly on PC, but I did use it on my titan briefly with no problems, Don't know of anyone with similar issues sorry, Is it a branded O2 handset? I have an unlocked lumia but not sure where it originated/carrier wise as was from ebay, I would ***** slap the counter staff and get either a working one there and then or tell them to replace it with a 900, Really cannot think of why you cannot open links?
Read a few reviews of the twitter app and peeps complaining about not being able to log in etc, Maybe it's a lumia thing?
Or even a Giff gaff problem that is assuming ur still using your sim?
Try a different sim or even wi fi alone to narrow down your options.

It's a branded O2 handset. Giffgaff lives in my Titan. O2 micro-SIM in O2. I have a feeling it's got something to do with O2 branding. The unbranded one I tried before buying this was awesome in every way. I would love to get it swapped for 900 though Sadly we don't even have one yet
No way you can cut your giff gaff sim down to try it? Shame as I just sold a black lumia on ebay unlocked etc, can you cancel the contract? If all else fails pre order a 900 from phones 4u, I did and its £36 pm available from the 27th.
##634# field test, run all tests? worth a go maybe.
What happens if you're connected via WiFi??
Twitter is apparently currently having an app linking bug "new features" or something.
If you're a new user you're out of luck for the time being. But if you had a signin earlier you're fine.
At least remember there being a report about it or something.
Hey Guys,
I have no choice but to swap my rooted AT&T Gnote with my Dad's International Gnote in the next few days. My dad's phone is unlocked so I can use it fine when it gets here in the US.
But ... my phone is not
I read somewhere that AT&T is mandated to give unlocked codes if 1) Phone is not exclusive 2) if it is more than 6 months old.
In a few days, my phone will be more than 6 months old (Sunday to be exact - early Note adopter here). Also we know Note is on Tmobile so its not exclusive anymore.
So my question is --> Do you think AT&T will hand out codes if the phone is 6 months old?
EDIT: If AT&T will not give out codes, what is the cheapest or hopefully free method to unlock the phone?
**************
The other thing I needed to ask is about remote controlling a phone FROM a PC. It is like Splashtop/Logmein but the other way around.
Sometimes it is very hard for me to describe to my dad on what keys to press etc etc .. so I decided to find a tool/software just for me to have full remote access to the phone from his PC (tethered via USB) when I am remoted to that PC in Asia. (Inception baby!)
Or it would be better if I could just directly remote in to his phone from my PC here in the US - instead of remoting in to his PC and do it from there.
Any thoughts about this guys?
Thanks in advance!
I know this isn't helpful, but if your dad can't figure out what button to press then just get him one of those jitterbug phones

lol .. if you find a jitterbug that is about 5.3 inches that can play movie clips ..im all ears
My dad can use the phone fine, play movies, etc .. he is not that tech idiot. .. but sometimes, i need him to go deep in the settings, like check the battery stats, go to some other deep settings in mobile network and many more. That is where he gets lost.
I just hope I can find a program so I can control it for him also he was a nokia fan-man .. all his phone life it was all nokia .. so I want to control it and teach him .. after that I'm sure he will be fine.
I believe At&T will unlock your phone if it is not currently under contract.
Here is an example of a remote control app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.MarcelloAlbano.LazyDroidServer
Holy Crap .. I got my hands on my this international Note ... wow .. just wow .. the speed difference is soooooo far apart. The international note is just soo much faster. Exynos FTW.
Anyway, back to the unlock questions .. I'm willing to pay money to have this unlocked. I think Cellunlocker.net is the way to go.
However, once if I unlocked it, would it be permanent? What if I changed ROMS .. will the unlock persist?
Thanks!
Unlocking from a particular carrier is permanent. Flash any and all roms.
Hi guys,
what do you think about setting a bounty for a Nokia Lumia 920 bootloader hack or jailbreak for Windows Phone 8, like they did for the GS4 Active in this thread here.
Tell what you think about that, maybe geohot needs money

The reason why I own two HTC Titan (Eternity) smart phones are...it is the last Windows Phone that could be successfully bootloader unlocked. The next generation Titan, the Titan II (Radiance) is impossible to HSPL and no device since can be HSPL; no HSPL, no custom roms. It's is a very good phone with one really aggravating issue; it is believed AT&T deliberately throttled the device's mobile data speed. I'd buy a Nokia Lumia 920 in a heartbeat were it not for the fact that there isn't a branded WP8 app that couldn't be home-brewed or 3rd party created for WP7.8 with one exception; Skype but the news isn't all bad because it doesn't run flawless either on WP8. I wish you good luck in your endeavor.

There is Huawei W1 with unlocked bootloader, so I think WP 8 is not so unhackable, but nevertheless Huawei is very different then 920.
I'm in for such a quest..I donate money if we start raising such bounty.
So I recieved my 920 1,5 years ago when it was a premium phone. I bought it first for taking videos at low light (when I go out with my friends) and have a good skype-frontcamera quality, because I live far away from my family.
Enough said, it got the first problems 1-2 months later, it didn’t charge anymore and frontfacing camara got dusty. I got the phone back from technical service, (with little artefacts behind the screen in the lower button zone) and as soon as I plugged in my earphones for the first time, the whole audiosystem was down, inclusive bluethooth.
By that time, the frontfacing camara, got dirty again, so I gave the phone back for another repair. Got it back, and some months later, battery plug got broken again, and frontfacing camara was dirty again. I started to get very angry, and wrote to nokia / microsoft technical service online, that I’m fed up with the problems, only 1 year, and the phone is all time at repair, for the same problems. I said I want a definitive solution, maybe a new phone, I don’t want to spend more money on gasoline and stay 2 weeks without phone!!! And then, have to reinstall everything. They promised a final solution, but a new phone wasn’t in question. I told, ok, as lon as this is the last time I’ll have to repair the phone, for me its ok (although I knew I’d have the same problems again)
Now, another 2 months later, frontfacing camara with dust, and freakin batteryplug starts failing again.
What do I have to do with these pirates???? Please help me, I’m really angry and sad at the same time. Its everyday harder to skype with my family because of the dusty camera, and the batteryplug won’t survive much longer.
Then I saw my girfriend, she broke her Iphone screen, and apple came at her home to take it and repair it for free, even if it was her fault.
Another friend of mine got 2 times the same issue on his motorola, and they gave him a new phone for free.
Why does microsoft play that bad with his customers??? I mean, it was a premium phone, unlocked, so I paid even more!! And I think they lost more money with all that repairs, instead of giving me a 925 (thats even cheap right now) that seems not to have any particular faults.
Maybe they can give you microsoft lumia 535????.
Go away with that Lumia 535 Phone....
Buy another Lumia 920 Phone on ebay or buy another Phone like Lumia 1020 or the Lumia 930.
The 535 have only 512 Megabyte of RAM!
Buy a new phone???
Are you kidding me??? Its a lumia 920, its still on the top and still in warranty, I want microsoft to fix it, any Idea how to forcé them???

Good luck! I have sent my 920 in about 7 times....I have gotten two new 920s with the same 3G to LTE handoff/battery issues...they will not give me a different model, just keep giving me the 920. If you send in enough, they will give you a "new" 920.
