Just bought my SG2 and i have the newest firmware KIES says. (XWKE2,XXKDJ)
I have look around in the forum (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278) and i have found that there is a newer firmware or are i just stupid?
KE2 is the newest available firmware in your country, and the newest available can variate from country to country. where I live for example(denmark) KE2 is also the newest firmware available. This is decided by samsung btw.

that means i can flash the newest no matter where i live?
Yep, it's a newer build, so should have small improvements.

I've been mucking around with a few different custom roms for a while now. Have decided I would like to go back to my original. I'm using Vodafone in New Zealand, and am having a hell of a time finding the original roms/firmware for my galaxy Ace.
ANy help would be greatly appreciated. I just want to get back to the original where i can update through Kies...
Tried www.sammobile.com? They have the most complete list of stock firmwares available.

I have yeah, I'm just not sure which one I need?
read the country or provider
and see codes that stand for which country and u should find right 1
or get latest version build...
as only changes in those will be newer might be stable and different would be crapware which are different in different roms most of times.. and one more regional languages might also be missing in other region roms

I have, problem is I can't find New Zealand anywhere!
Try an Asian firmware, since it's closest. Do you remember your baseband version before flashing?

No, I'm afraid not. I figured I wouldn't to worry since I made a backup of all the original with CWM. For some reason, anytime I try to restore it, it just boots up whatever ROM I happen to have going at the time. Very frustrating

I have CWM backup, let me know if you still need it or not.

www.tsar3000.com found this website recently....all stock roms are present...or u can go to samsung costumer care they will flash original rom

I flashed a European one and its fine data worked from the first boot. There is no NZ rom if your data is weird go to stk and get settings

NZ rom is in tsar3000 web supplied. I have downloaded and flashed, working fine.

Hehe that's not a NZ rom specifically, I would feel great to know samsung cared enough for kiwis.

Check CSC NZKP5 (my post a page back). It is NZ stock rom. Baseband is XWKS3. That's the rom when I got my phone unless you've got parallel imported one.

Shud try and flash custom rom especially the new Checkrom v3.5. Jelly bean DNA in there. Super smooth.
XX is only for some European countries. Singapore would get a different update

Best thing is try different modems out if you are not satisfied with what you currently have.

Can I check with u guy..if I brought a phone from usa.. im staying in sg and flash the firmware to my country... in the future when sg firmware release will I still be able to recieve sg firmware update? or I have to manually flash every firmware it release thanks for looking into it

What country is SG by the way, Singapore? Coming back to the topic, yes. You need to flash a firmware for that specific country and change the CSC to the one that corresponds to that country.
