Hey 7tOny4,
I would love a copy if you have it?
Rooted mine the other night, but noticing really heavy battery drain whilst in poor reception. I've tried the fix to correct the incorrect value being reported for Cell Standby, but i doubt that's going to work as something is actually chewing the battery up hard (down to 60% after 2 hours off charge and thats with power saving and nearly everything except Wifi disabled). Thinking i may have to take it in and therefore will need stock rom back on.
Cheers

here try this replace the md5 file with this one https://www.box.com/s/4ks5ce2mic6ifnd27h7n it over rides md5 check ive done it not long ago and it worked.
For anyone who has md5 mismatch.
Ok place the file on your external sd card under clockworkmod- backup. Then move md5 file some were you remember just in case. it will say you can't but override it when it asks. Then put the file I linked you in the file. make sure it's zero in size.
Then rebot into cwm recovery. Restore and backup. Restore from external card. choose the file named vodafone. That's what I did with a md5 mismatch and it worked.

Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
If you need to check md5, I used a windows program called md5 checker (from memory as away from home).
You can check the md5 of each part of the nandroid against the nandroid md5 file. To view and edit the md5 file, use NotePad++ program (not confused with NotePad).
Also, make sure you have not edited the nandroid backup name, this can cause md5 mismatch and prevent restoration. Ie. 2012-06-30.13.11.29 (original name)

Thanks heaps man, did a nandroid before I started tinkering with my S3 but must have done something wrong cause the file seems to be corrupt.
Now I cracked my screen the other day and need to go back to ICS to use triangle away for the warranty so thanks heaps for this man! :good:

The MD5 sum is a type of checksum used to verify a file's integrity. It's a very good thing for them to match on a ROM, however, if they don't and you still flash it you won't brick your device. It probably won't work right either. When flashing a radio, you should always check them because a bad radio can brick your device.
Thanks

Is that what Rom stats is for? Under unique ID is that my md5? So since you say they need to match , how can i find a Rom that does match?

md5sum is command line application and has nothing to do with that. It does no good to see what the md5 of something is AFTER it's loaded onto your phone and installed, since by then you already figure out if it worked or not.

That one shouldn't be giving you problems as long as you are NOT using ROM Manager.
I mean this in the nicest way possible but I think you need to do some serious reading up and googling and get yourself well versed in android and HTC devices specifically. It takes some time and dedication but it will save you tons of headaches in the future.

I've never had one completely take a crap on me, but I've had the SDcard become corrupted multiple times. SDcards are based on NAND memory, and NAND isn't even remotely reliable. Cells die in it all the time. It's so unreliable that every NAND device is manufactured with a certain percentage of dead cells, and every NAND device has logic built onto it to manage it's steady rate of failure. Usually the card itself can manage and recover data from a few lost cells, but from time to time it can't. Nothing using NAND memory technology should be considered fail-safe. That would include SDcards, MMC cards, eMMC like that which is built onto the phone, and USB thumb drives.
You can't really prevent an SDcard from going to hell. It happens. Buy ones that carry a warranty is about as good as you can do. Running ultra-low voltages on your device aren't going to help reliability either. No download should cause it to fail though.
Thanks loon!!! Well hopefully this week I can get back to flashing a rom cuz das bamf sense 3.0 RC 4.9 is a very boring rom, wish MIUI was for the TB

Okay so I was one of the dumb ones that flashed the tmo roms before they were made universal. I was able to get the phone working again but I lost my IMEI. It just shows up as 0. Now my signal goes from edge to 3g and calls drop all the time. I was looking in the int. S2 forums and saw that there were methods for restoring IMEI but you needed to have a backup of your EFS folder and mine is empty. If I 're-root my phone and use my original nandroid, would that folder have the original contents in it? If not, how should I proceed? My local stores don't have S3's in stock.

Make sure and do some research to learn what imei means. Thats aomething u can never lose even of u want
I know what it mean. It's the international something identifier but it showing up as 0 in the about device and the *#06# input. What I need to know is can it be restored by using the original efs folder that holds the number. And you should research before making posts like that. Look at the int SGS2 forums. They have lots of threads about people loosing their IMEI number and having to use programs like HC-Ktool to restore it. But these programs don't work on the U.S. S3 variants.

Your phones imei number is on the box the phone came in. And i think on a sticker under the battery as well. I dont know how to update that on the phone though.

Couldn't you just flash back to stock with Odin?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk 2
Flashing with odin will not restore the corrupt files unfortunately.
While looking in the /efs partition, I noticed there is no "nv_data.bin" file nor is there the md5 version. ADB can't pull one either. So, where is our info stored?
I think, not certain here, that we have two more efs partitions that are encrypted that we cannot see. One being the main, and the other for backup. If correct, the files are stored in there somewhere.
my phone's imei was set to 0. I lost "4g" after rooting it. Has anyone found a solution to this problem yet? If anyone has an answer it would be greatly appreciated.
This IMEI issue is a huge deal that is just going to get bigger. I have been reading and a lot of the issues I am reading about are most likely IMEI related but the user doesn't know it yet. Mine is now 0 and all I have done is rooted and flashed a few rom versions. Going to need to go exchange now.
I was using omega28 and things were fine and then I updated my phone to omega v29 after that I started getting"SIM card removed please restart" or when I restart I Have to airplane mode on and off. Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
Slow down. You should have made your nandroid backup before flashing v29. I would flash Omega again from scratch. Wipe (use Charmin ) and flash ROM and see if the problem persists
You should always do a nandroid before flashing a new ROM or even update. For reasons just like this. You can always delete backups as you make more

Those two statements are mutually exclusive. Are you getting the same problem still or not?
Additionally, have you carried out a full wipe before flashing new ROMs?

OK so basically I'm a moron I saw the enoxys abuse app (I'm sure I spelt that wrong) and without thinking I rooted with it since I won't have my computer working till tomorrow. So being rooted I get the brilliant idea to download goo manager and push a recovery because "it was that simple on my gnex ." So now I have the lovely Verizon warning. I know I fix that with Odin but idk the files to use. Yea I did something dumb because my last two phones were virtually unbrickable. I'm hating myself for not reading but yea can someone please point me to a guide or just tell me what to do? Thank you in advance and feel free to make fun and say I deserve it

No, I dont see how. If you flash something in Odin (which seems like your only option) you rewrite everything on the device (excluding the external sdcard) in accordance with the specifications of the file you are flashing.

What is this, are you admitting to pirating the app? That is %100 against XDA rules, so you're not getting support on that.
And anyone who downloads files from YouTube and expects them to be legit, especially when we have so many great guides and stickies on how to do things here, is asking for trouble.

If you havn't paid chainfire for the Pro version of his app, then you need to go onto the play store and pay him immediately. It's only five bucks, not a bank breaker. Or if not, delete it and go onto xda and get the free lite version.
Get the files you need from the Download Repository.
