[Q] Totally bricked RAZR Maxx; need expert help - Motorola Droid RAZR

I am a noob, but have some tech ability (just enough to get me into trouble).
I can follow directions fairly well, but apparently did something DRASTICALLY wrong; I don't know exactly what. I thought I could recover even if I messed up, but I cannot use phone at all; it is a brick.
Here is what I did:
I wanted to prepare Razr for ICS so I downloaded & used Droid Razr Utility 1.7.
Ran the .bat file, option 1, looked like it was installing ok, but when it was done I was bricked; unable to reboot in any way, shape or form. The message I recd was:
Invalid fastboot Flash mode (s)
0a.6c
To return to normal mode-first press power key down
Device is locked. Status code:0
Battery OK
OK to program
Transfer mode:
Usb connected
also:
Invalid Flash Mode(s) (boot failure)
0a.6c
To return to normal mode-first press power key down
Device is locked. Status code:0
Battery OK
OK to program
Transfer mode:
Usb connected
Invalid cg otv (cg:system):invalid sp data
Invalid cg hab (cg:system, status:0x0056)
Invalid cg otv (cg:system)
when attempting to reboot from recovery, android icon appears laying dead with belly open & red exclamation point.
Every time .bat file is run, it appears to have completed properly (see attached)
You can flame me unmercifully if you want (I deserve it), but I am in desperate need of your help. Please tell me it can be restored, and if so, patiently give step by step instructions to accomplish it.
Thanks for your efforts.

is there RAZR MAXX supply with RAZR Utility? oO
my fault or does RAZR MAXX and RAZR really need different ROM?
EDIT:
my fault...
seems like RAZR and RAZR MAXX uses same software (link)
so just get the fitting GB ROM from the Eternity Project ROM thread and flash via RSD Lite
PS: differ GSM and CDMA

[Q] Bricked XT912 - Only AP Fastboot Works HELP!

I have an XT912 on Verizon US that is currently bricked with a low battery. I tried using vel0city's method of charging in Recovery (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1549625), but when I try to access anything other than AP Fastboot I get the message:
Invalid Flash Mode (S) (Boot Failure)

To return to normal mode ....
Device is Locked...
Battery Low
Cannot Program
Connect USB
Data Cable
Invalid CG OTV (CG: system): Invalid SP Data
Invalid CG Version (CG: system)

When I try to power off the device and then power back on (just with the power button) it brings me back to the AP Fastboot screen. I have tried using Droid Razr Utility to fix my device before this occurred, but that did not work, and I am now stuck here. Please help me!!!

Hey, I am in the same situation!! Luckily, I have one solution. This is the only way to get out of it as far as I know. So, you need to buy a Motorola Factory cable for your XT912. They are very cheap. Here's a link: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trksid=p5197.m570.l1311&_nkw=motorola+factory+cable&_sacat=0&_from=R40
Once you have received the cable, read here on how to use it to unbrick your XT912 (just scroll down for instructions) : http://www.usbstyle.com/cables/motorola-droid-razr-xt912-factory-cable-for-fastboot-mode-unroot-unbrick-rooted/
NOTE: The Factory Cable is NOT for charging!!! The Factory Cable bypasses the "Battery Low" message (when plugged into PC), so then you put it into AP Fastboot and run Razr Utility 1.8.2! Hope I helped!
Thanks for the help! I might have to try that option... Did you see the method to charge in fastboot? It's the link on my post. I was just thinking that if I got it to charge (so that I don't have to buy the cable to bypass the battery low thing), could I fix it?
You dont need the cable. I was in the same situation and the way I fixed it was to plug the phone into a outlet. Then restart the phone - hold down both the up and down buttons, and then the power button. Wait about 10 secs....after the screen flashes and turns black, do the same thing. You should now be able to select which mode to boot into. Select NORMAL BOOT. This should give you the red Motorola screen and then the charging battery screen. Wait until fully charged and then restart phone. After restarting again and going into the boot select screen, then you can select AP FASTBOOT and everything should be fine
I had this issue the other day when trying to flash JB. Took me about 2 days to get it going again but run a google search for empty radio or something like that just fast boot flash the empty radio file then fastboot flash the system.img manually and reboot and you should be good to go
Eighthourblink, I tried doing that technique but when I booted using the "normal" method the M logo popped up for a split second, then the AP Fastboot menu came up again with the same error as before. At the top where it normally says "AP Fastboot Flash Mode (S)" it says "AP Fastboot Flash Mode (S) (Flash Failure). Pretty much I can't do anything other than access the fastboot screen. I think the reason is that when I tried using the Razr Utility (1.6 - option 2) the system files did not get transferred before the battery low error came up.
cyphrmatrix: I tried using RSD Lite to flash files over to the phone, but it will not recognize my phone. I installed the drivers correctly and the computer recognized my phone (I used to be able to use Droid Razr Utility without a problem), but for some reason RSD Lite won't find my device.
I got my phone fixed! After a week of research and failed attempts at restoring the phone back to normal, I finally found a solution. I bought Team Black Hat's factory cable converter (in order to bypass the low battery) and had to use DroidRazrUtility 1.8 in order to do the full restore. My initial problem was that I used really old software to restore the phone (DroidRazrUtility 1.42) and it just crapped out on me. Hope no one has to ever have this problem!

[Q] Razr MAXX (xt910) bricked after restoring ICS with Razr Utility 1.82

Hi!
I have this problem. I looked up to fix it, but I couldn't find someone in the same situation.
I was trying to upgrade my ICS 4.0.4 to the JB Leak. Right in the beginning I followed this step, "Use the Razr Utility to restore ICS to version 6.16.211. (First attachment)
But in the process I noticed some "Fails" when the program was writing some files. I proceed and end doing a wipe data as the program asked. (Second attachment)
After this, my cellphone restarts directly to the AP Fastboot screen with a boot failure:

Guys, sorry for reposting, but I think I fixed it!!!
The 7th stock rom I found worked on RSD Lite 6.1. Now in step 15/21...
I'm waiting till the flash process ends so I'll post the results.

It really worked. After trying another six roms, I found one which passed on the 6th step on RSD Lite.
I'm from Brazil, and the only ROM that worked was a brazilian retail which was equal/newer than I had.

[Q] Need help please! Motorola Razr XT912 Verizon

Hi everybody,
I've a big problem with a friend's Motorola XT912 Verizon 4G-LTE
This phone was on 4.1.2
672.300.400.XT910.Asia3Retail.en.CN and GAS_ASIA_SPYDERICS_P008 but no Google APPS.
I rooted it and installed Safestrap recovery successfully but when i power it on it boot into AP Fastboot Mode, i everytime manually boot to normal boot by pressing the 3 butons. I used Matt's DROID_RAZR_Utility_Jellybean_XT912 to fix it. Done with success but no network!
I tried to fix it too and now my problem started.
My BIG mistake is i tried to flash another official firmware and now it's stuck on this screen:
AP Fastboot Flash Mode (S) (Boot Failure)
0A.77
eMMC Info: Size 16G
To return to normal mode - first press power key to power down
Devices is LOCKED. Status Code: 0
Battery OK
OK to Program
Transfer Mode:
USB Connected
Invalid CG OTV (CG: Invalid SP Data)
Invalid CG Version (CG: system)
Invalid CG OTV (CG: system)
Google for 672.300.400.XT910.Asia3Retail.en.CN and NOTHING found!!!
When i try with Matt's DROID_RAZR_Utility_Jellybean_XT912 i get errors on CDT.BIN file "infopreflash validation failure (No such file or directory)"
RSD Lite got error on "6/18 cdt.bin".
Same error with recovery, boot and devtree files!
Can't access into recovery mode too.
HELP ME! Someone can give me the link for the 672.300.400.XT910.Asia3Retail.en.CN version?
Or give me a solution to get this Rarz XT912 Verizon back! I'm desperate! :crying:
Come on guys need your help PLEASE!
Nobody can help me? Need help to take me out from this hell
Still waiting...
Are you positive it is an xt912? I see Asia in the firmware name suggesting it is actually an xt 910 (I.e. not us version for use on Verizon CDMA network, but the version designed for gsm networks everywhere except the us). If so you need the version of matt's utility designed for the xt910 in order to flash back to stock.
Sent from my Droid RAZR Maxx (XT912, spyder) using TapaTalk.
can use this rom "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2434629" and is perfect for walking with other DepNet.com for as kikat 4.4.2 .. I have no signal!

Invalid flash mode (s) (boot failure) + bootloop

Hi all, I'm new in this forum but i read a lot of your thread in order to learn about android phone.
First of all, sorry for my bad english.
I have a problem with my razr maxx. I bought it on ebay (a used one). I use Razr/Maxx XT912 (Matt Droid Razr Utility) and now the phone is in bootloop.
This is the error message:
invalid flash mode (s) (boot failure)
0A.77
emmc info: seize 16gb
Device is LOCKED. STATUS CODE 0
battery ok.
ok to program
transfer mode:
usb connected
AND
Invalid cg otv (CG:system): invalid sp data
invalid cg version (cg:system)
invalid cg otv (cg:system)
I'm trying to resolve with this old thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1524011
My phone model is xt910 type name m0c2e fcc id : ihdp56me2 ic id 109o-p56me2 and it has verizon apps. (i red the it on the back of the phone) BUT I also use the imei in the motorola's support to find out the model of the phone, and this is the answer: XT912 (Spyder LTE) (i also find a screen of the phone with some info -> see the attachments ). [the phone is only with motorola brand].So which is the right model? I also have (or better had) supersu already on it. I use it with a sim card (i use it with in gsm mode but it has also cdma mode. The languages are only spanish and english )
I arrive at this point ( from this "guide" http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1524011) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1362956 but i don't know which one i must download.
ps.
i also tried:
1-download cdt.bin ( http://www.mediafire.com/?ua1nj6ds6r0vtue )
2-download fastboot files ( http://dfiles.eu/files/bih3tmg7b )
3-restart your phone in to bootloader ( fastboot ) mode
4-connect your phone via usb cable
5-open cmd.exe in your pc an go to fastboot files
6-flash cdt.bin via this command -------------------------------------- fastboot flash cdt.bin cdt.bin
7-restart your phone in to stock recovery
8-do triple wipe and restart your phone
and you can see the result in the attachments..
What can i do in order to resolve the bootloop? I'm desperate
Thank you
Hi!
Flash this rom with RSD Litehttp://sbf.droid-developers.org/download.php?device=9&file=788
Let me know if worked. You battery may be drained by this time, if so, you'll need to use a factory cable.
But, let me know if you could flash with RSD Lite first.
Cheers
i'm trying but it failed. (usb error at status 22/24 and 18/24). Now i repeat the action. I have the original cable and the phone is in fastboot flash mode
It's working ! THANK YOU!!!
In order to avoid the same problems, How can i change rom? (which one can i use ?) Which programs and apps do i need to use? Where i can find a guide? Which is the best way in order to improve the gsm signal?
Thank you,
Roncallica
An other idiot question. Now it is without supersu and it is locked. What can i do?

Hi!
Glad it's working first place. You'll find all you need just navigating throught the Development section. You have a root method easy to use to your phone, a safe to use recovery and a lot of kernells and roms to pick up onde of your choice.
Before doing anything like flashing roms or installing things be sure you've charged you phone, always. Remember Razr battery are not removable, so, if you brake it while doing some stuff you need no return to your previous rom and start all over again.
First step now? Root this thing!
Cheers
Do i have to use this guide? I mean in order to root xt912 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2230140 or can i use this one? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YIEO0pedtzE). Can i modify kernells and radio in order to obtain more gsm signal? i don't find a safe recovery for xt912 spider, what can i do? I have some problems with internet and it's a bit slow
thank you!
Having a simillar problem with my XT910, when I power it on it doesn't boot but goes straight to the error message saying
AP Fastboot Flash Mode (S) (Recipe Failure)
0A.77
eMMC Info: Size 16G
To returno to normal mode - first press power key to power down
Device is LOCKED. Status code: 0
Battery OK
OK to Program
Connect USB
Data Cable
If I try to flash ROM via RSDLite, it recognizes the phone but I got flashing error on the first step. If I press power to shut it down, then VOL+/- with Power key, and select Normal Powerup, in more than 90% phone goes to a bootloop, sometimes it boots normaly and then everything works. If I select BP HW Diag & Boot AP, it boots every time but when I try to connect it my PC asks for some drivers for Diag and so which are not installed on PC and the phone won't charge a battery when connected to a charger - everything else is working.
Phew, that was a long post! Any idea what might be a problem?
I forgot to mention that I bought the phone in this condition so I don't have a clue what a previous owner flashed (or tried to flash). Android version is official 4.1.2, system version 982.124.14.XT910.Retail.en.EU, build number 9.8.20-124_SPUEM-14.

Razr Maxx XT910 bricked and sbf.droid-developers.org and eternityproject.eu are DOWN

Hi,
I made a mistake by trying to flash my phone with DROID_RAZR_Utility_Jellybean_XT912 and bricked it.

To return to normal mode - first press power key to power down
Device is LOCKED. Status Code: 0

When I try Normal power up from Boot mode I get:
AP Fastboot Flash Mode (S) (Flash Failure)
OA.74
eMMC Info: 16G
To return to normal mode - first press power key to power down
Device is LOCKED. Status Code: 0
Battery OK
OK to Program
Transfer mode:

I went through many forums and fount few solutions, BUT basically all solutions require download right stock ROM and try to flash phone using RDS lite or EternityProject Flash-IT. And this is biggest problem-
sbf.droid-developers is down;
eternityproject is down too and ALL discussions point to these pages for downloads (it seems that everybody thought that these pages would work forever) there are NO mirrors or alternatives.
So basically I am in the dead end.
Perhaps somebody knows alternative download sites or can share needed files???
I have Motorola Razr Maxx XT910 (not XT912 ) I live in East Europe (EU)and I need 672.180.41.XT910.Retail.en.EU (at least I think it will work for me) firmware with XML file for RDS Lite flashing, or EternityProject Flash-IT tools.
