That's a solid enough guide I'd say but sorry just one more thing I can think that might be valid to add if I may;
Before going to say about adb for flashing screen recommend a fresh install first as that is much easier for the user to do if they just done it than read and learn all about adb. Just a thought but good guide, please delete this post if its considered as spam or not relevant.

It´s ok, spam this thread as much as you want, it´s for questions, answers and discussion
I added "run cmd on your computer", you think people will understand?
If they install SDK then they should be able to just type that command in cmd

Q: How do I change the bootanimation?
A: You can´t, will be possible in the final version!

In fact you can change as follows (at your own risk)
1. Use Root Explorer to delete \system\media\bootanimation.zip (or replace with your own)
2. Copy framework-res.apk from \system\framework to sdcard
3. replace the following image files in framework-res.apk (I use total commander) with the stock image files:
i) android-logo-mask.png & android-logo-shine.png in assets\images folder
ii) default_wallpaper.jpg in res\drawable-hdpi folder
4. Copy framework-res.apk from sdcard back to \system\framework folder
5. reboot
Thanks, will this to my thread.

Thanks dude, worked a treat with Mr Rusch's X10 Mod Tool and 7zip.
Installed and seems to be working fine aside from the screen flickering which I can't seem to get rid of. The ADB thread has a link for android SDK which seems to be out of date because it no longer links to a download. I can't figure it out otherwise. Anyone wanna help me get rid of the screen flickering?
Reinstall the zip via xRecovery, jusy as you did the first time you installed FreeX10.

rodak
thanks to you for this info, many things became clear after this!
what I woulk like to discuss is to restore data (contacts, sms, apps settings) from previous (2.1) version. may I use titanium backup ? will then all custom data & apps & settings work as in 2.1 ?

Yes, you can restore data with titanium, but I recommend a fresh install of all your apps.
The only thing I restored with Titanium was my SMS/MMS.
Contacts and calendar synced with gmail.
The other apps was a fresh install from market.
That way i'm sure no junk from 2.1 will mess up my freshly installed 2.2 rom
But sure you can, if you want, restore most of your apps and data.
Maybe just me that want everything fresh

But make sure you disable your SIM PIN code.
If your phone reboots during the night I'm not sure the alarm will work if the phone asks for PIN.

Can you give me a video guide or a simple guide please?
Thanks in advance!
You find all information on Development area.
Just choose one ROM and follow the instructions there.
Good luck!
I think you need to root your phone and install xrecovery before you can install ROMs
yaa..go to development forum then choose 1 rom..
First root your phone with SuperOneClick or other app
install xrecovery
choose rom
use xrecovery to install it
1. Root yr phone using superoneclick(usb) or universal androot (apk).
2. Install root explorer(in phone) or adb shell (on pc).
3. Follow the instructions for xrecovery installation from development thread.
4. Flash latest(015) baseband and build (2.1.1.0.6)
5. Flash roms of ur choice.....
For modules like overclock, pinch zoom etc once root explorer is installed all modules can be loaded by just extracting and copying them to system/lib/modules and editing hw_config.sh .... instuctions are available at development threads.

Does anyone know of an app/script or something where the bootscreen options includes "reboot" and/or "boot into xrecovery"? I am using SE 2.1 stock rom since they are planning to release gingerbread for the x10, I prefer to stay with them for now. However, my phone is rooted and I'm using xrecovery for backup. It would be nice to have the options as stated above on the bootscreen instead of having to power-off the phone to boot into xrecovery. I only found a script for the x10 mini pro. Anything for the x10?

That is the most difficult post I've seen on this site. It refers to an update.zip but it can't be found. Links going to other posts and on... and on. I use the latest file v3: reboot_into_rec_univ_xperia_v3.zip and I can't find GScript. I don't know.
flash the zip through recovery. Then open the GScript Lite app and press the menu button on your phone and select add script. Then press 'load file' and select each of the 3 scripts one at a time and press save (make sure the need su box is checked) then you can just run the script to reboot into recovery or even put a shortcut on your desktop to it and essentially create a widget for it (I use the XRecovery install app icon as the picture)
go to this url: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=12504876#post12504876
download the v3.zip at the bottom of doomlords post at #136

I had to download GScript Lite from the market because I couldn't find it otherwise. Once installed, I followed your steps to get it to work. Thanks for all your help!

The thing is im with bl unlocked rooted using Nottachtrix 1.3.1
In Script Manager i enabled view root and when I select the script I select the skull and crossbones (they turn green) so tecnically im running the script as root
I used SU Update fixer and still nothing

3) install script manager (smanager)
4) launch Smanager, select "browse as root" then ok
5) browse to "/system/etc/init.d/11extsd2internalsd"
