I updated to the official 2.2 froyo and now I cannot get the phone to boot in to clockwork. I have reflashed clockwork multiple time, no matter what it starts in 3e. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Wonder if deleting slacker radio and allowing busybox to install will fix your problem...sry can't link but there is a thread

Tried it, installed busybox, but still booting in 3e.
Ok go to the bottom of rom manager and use another version...like 2.5.1.1 or 2.5.1.0 & try reboot into recovery...if not there is always Supercurios voodoo kernel w/ cwm & root

can't get to green
I'm also stock on blue standard recovery. Can not get to Clockwork. It used to work fine before 2.2 update.
I go to Rom manager; tell it to reboot into recovery. I get the Android 3e. I select reinstall packages. It says verifying. Then it fails signature verification. I already tried removing update.zip manually..
What should I do?
There are two methods you may either odin back to stock 2.1 which gives you the android 2e recovery
or
# Download SuperOneClick root on here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=803682
# Run SuperOneClick Root (remember to enable usb debugging)
# Download the files on here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=833423
# Put both of the files found on step 3 in the root (not in any folders) of you INTERNAL sd card.
# Download root explorer ( http://www.4shared.com/get/4W9GGurc/Root_Explorer_2123.html )
# Copy the recovery found in the 3e_recovery_installer.zip in system/bin
# Copy the keys file found in the res into the efs file
# Run shell root on SuperOneClick
# Now enter the 3e_recovery_installer.zip on your computer and run the bat file found in there
# Go download Rom Manager in the market
# Reinstall Packages in recovery
(I posted this on the vibrant tmobile forums so I just copy and pasted heres the real one.... http://forums.t-mobile.com/t5/Samsung-Vibrant/How-Do-i-Root-my-2-2-Vibrant/td-p/709625
Isnt root explorer a paid app? Probably want to remove that link.

Tried using sgstools app? It has a recovery reboot option.
I rooted my phone using GingerBreak, but can't install Busybox. Downloaded it from market but it never finishes installation, saying there's already another installation of busybox and immediately quits after. Any ideas how to install it properly?
I think it means Gingerbreak also installed busybox and installing another instance is not necessary. It could also mean that there is a special version for your device
after rooting some programs asked me to install busybox, so it rather wasn't installed... and they're still asking now, so nothing changed
install root explorer
create folder /system/xbin.change permissions to r/w
try again to install busybox
this work for me
Hi Guys!! I've got a problem installing BusyBox here!!
I searched for the problem on google, but didn't find anything helpful, so thought someone can help here.............
The point was to get V6 Supercharger script running, which requires BusyBox. I already had BusyBox V. 1.19.2 installed, but as Zeppellin has described, versions above 1.18.2 could've caused problems, so I decided to install V1.18.2, via BusyBox app(by stericson) on market. It was unsuccessful to do the job, so i tried it with another app- BusyBox installer(by JRummy), but now this one is unable to detect root access!!!
PLUS, now root apps such as SetCPU, script manager are all getting FCs
I've already confirmed with the root access-- I am getting # sign with SU command.........
Please help someone.......Its all getting really weird!!!!
*EDIT*:- Now Wi-Fi not working too !!!!!---WTF????
You really make all things confusing better to clear data of superuser from settings and then flash older version of superuser and then use jrummy app to install busybox
Edit:Flash kernel again
Update su binary.

1. First of all install Init.d Support It's here Just flash zip file throught Recovery.
2. Now download this text file and rename it from ***.txt to V6.sh. Place it on your SD card
3. Install Terminal Emulator on your device from Play Market.
4.Start Terminal emulator, tape su, than tape sh v6.sh
After that follow the install guide links.
That's all
I think it's way easier to do with ScripManager?
Step by step V6 install with SM
1.] Download V6 supercharger and place it on your SDcard. Optionally you can rename it to a simple name like V6.
2.] Download&install script manager from google play.
3.] open script manager and grant it root privileges.
4.] Load downloaded script by selecting it, tap superuser (SU) icon (it will turn green)
5.] Tap 'run' in upper left corner
6.] touch the screen to open keyboard.
7.] it will ask to set scrolling speed, select 1 or 2 or 3 and then enter. Or select 0 for instant display.
8.] let it run until it stops scrolling. It will then ask you "Please Enter Option [1-30]:"
9.] Choose 10 for automatic calculation of settings (V6 cust-oomizer), or choose for yourself. My personal choice is 2
10.] let it do it's thing... after it's finished it'll ask you if you want to super clean&reboot, do it.
To verify if the script has been installed, run it again after reboot.
If all is gods, you should get "Launcher is HARD TO KILL! ie. SUPERCHARGED" and "SuperCharger Level: 100% SuperCharged!"
OMG tnx guys
just want to say ty to all u guys.... i am just really happy...
now i can super charged my sk17i
OMG
the cript is asking me for my desired low memory killer.... i dont know wht this means
My Razr Maxx installed the OTA ICS update today. There were no error messages. Everything seemed to run fine. And on top of that I thought that my root was preserved.
Well, I have an old version (3.0.3.2) of SuperUser intalled that I cannnot uninstall. I cannot mount /system/ as read-write using ADB. I can't mount /system/ as rw using Terminal Emulator on the phone. I tried the one-click script EternityProject EasyRootICS to install root and it seemed to work (no errors reported), but when I edited the batch file to get rid of all of the CLS (clear screen) commands, I was able to see that when it tried to write the new superuser app to /system/bin/ it's failing (with no error reporting).
So what do I do now?
The bottom line is that I need root, but I don't know how I can get root without getting rid of my old SuperUser installation first.
I have the exact same problem..... I can't get rid of Superuser, but I can't get access too use any root applications. SU denies all of them...
Go to this link here and where it says "Note: If you don't get root by other method root attempt with su and Superuser.apk already installed." download from that link.
