Tablet laggy only when docked. - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

I was one of the people who preordered this tablet before launch and have been using it for about 6 months now and have no complaints with the tablet as of yet. I just purchased the keyboard dock for it, and the tablet becomes extremely laggy, sometimes taking 10 seconds for it to respond to a keystroke or touch in balanced mode only while docked. It is fast and fluid when undocked. I have docked and undocked many times but problem persists and it persists after restarts. I am running the .18 firmware. Can anyone think as to why it is like this?

Lockup when (dis)connecting dock

I'm hesitant to start this thread because I love my Prime and don't want to see another flame/hate thread started. This is by no means a deal-breaker for me; everything else works great except GPS (which I don't care about, but don't mention that to the folks in the GPS thread)... anyway...
My Prime seems to occasionally lock up completely if I dock or un-dock it while it's "doing something". Most recently, it was launching the stock browser from a URL in Reader. I waited awhile (maybe a minute), but all the buttons were unresponsive, though the Wifi indicator kept blinking, and I could put it in and out of sleep. Re-docking did nothing. I eventually restarted it via holding the power button. I'm on .33 if that matters.
I've had this happen a couple times before. Anyone else? I'm assuming it's just a weird bug, since most Androids don't have detachable keyboards. Hopefully it can be fixed in an update, but I wondered if others had similar experiences before I opened a support ticket to Asus.
Will test this tomorrow, when my dock comes in. Separately, how much do we want to bet that a certain somebody will claim to have this issue?

I don't get lockups, but my dock connection seems to come and go. When it's docked, sometimes the dock battery doesn't show, and sometimes the keyboard is unresponsive (top row keys work, others dont).

Developer Option + Docking Station = Fail Battery Life

So if some of you are like me, you like your device screen to stay on while its charging via the power cord. There is an option for this in settings > Developer options called "Stay awake" [Screen will never sleep while charging]. I never noticed until now that this also includes charging while on the dock. So basically even if you have your prime closed in the dock, the screen is still on wasting power while this option is checked. Does anyone else find something wrong with this? Anyone think that this is something that should be fixed?
Also, not being a developer here, do any of the rom chef's think they can add this as a custom option to exclude charging from the docking station once we start seeing custom roms in here?
I would like to see other people's thoughts on this
i never changed anything in my settings, and my tf201 stays on while charging
I can say from my Prime that this does not happen. I have that stay awake while charging option on and when I close it, the screen turns off
If you are docked then you are charging unless the dock is to low. This kind o issue can also occur with WiFi if memory serves.

Thats what im saying, I figured they would have configured it to at least not waste so much battery life. I went through an entire dock charge in about 3 or 4 hours until I realized the issue.
Possible I guess but I really doubt it was worth the cost of doing it with this product, unless the UX engineers won out over logical parsing

Why would you want your screen to stay on when charging?
By default the screen will stay on when watching a video or when actively using the tablet (unless your screen time-out is set incredibly low). If your tablet is charging and you aren't using it, why do you care if the screen is on or not? Do you need to buy a lamp or something?

Is it me or is my dock working (almost) perfectly?

Just added this thread, 'cause I think there aren't enough positive threads.
Got my dock two days ago.
I plugged in my tablet and charger and loaded both of them for a couple of hours.
When they were fully charged, I disconnected the charger and began surfing and watching movies.
The battery of my tablet stayed at 100%, while my dock battery depleted. So I will always have a fully loaded tablet if I decide to disconnect the tablet from my dock. Unless I keep using my TF101 for 16 hours straight without charging (which will someday happen, I betcha! Can't stop using it!!!
I also noticed that when I use the arrow pointer the scrolling direction of the touchpad is inverted. This is IMO very well thought out, because it is the same on a laptop.
I read on different fora that people have problems with their dock and that the dock only kicks in when the tablet battery is at 70%.
Is my dock working differently, because I am running Revolver ROM?
Just a couple of glitches:
When you use the arrow pointer, you can't use pinch-to-zoom anymore.
Sometimes I have a lag while typing, but it doesn't bother me or slow me down. Even in this forum I have minimal lag.
Sometimes the touchpad is not as responsive as I want it to be.
Mouseover isn't working in browser.
Anywayz, apart from a couple of little issues (hopefully solved in ICS), my dock is working perfectly!!

I´ve been having my Transformer (+dock) for 10 days now. Before that, I had an Netbook running Windows with an extended battery.
With that I usually had to put it to the charger 3 times a week.
Now, with the Transformer I still had 40% (!!) battery left after one week of normal use.

I think this only applies to the Transformer Prime of which I have had 3.
I am not convinced it is a wise idea to keep the keyboard dock constantly charging the tablet though.
I will be using the tablet without the dock also.
I also charge all my devices when they reach 50%.
only one "problem" with dock I have - the software keayboard i'm using instead of stock one doesn't support ctrl+space locale switch 8) and i cannot find any better combination for it
surely thats not a dock issue, but a software i'm using and I still hope that its author will implement that feature 8)

My touchpad is the same, but I have never liked touchpads so I use a wireless mouse when docked. Makes for an ideal platform.

I do the same. I was at my local Library yesterday with dock and mouse. Some guy with a Playbook (or similar) kept looking over at me the whole time he was there. I'm pretty sure he knew what I was using and seemed pretty keen on having a look.
I have no issues with mine either. Except that right click works like esc which drives me bonkers on remote desktop. But that's not a dock issue, its an android issue.

I just got the got 2 days back as well, Mines perfect! I love it, I do have same small qwirks as the OP mentions but it seems well thought through and it shows in use, always having a charged tablet is great feature too!
I should have bought one sooner.

Yep I got the same issue. Keep logging out of remote desktop....

TFP turning on without my command

I might be tripping but I always charge my prime at night and turn it off. Since getting my dock when I come home from work i flip it open and it is on already and the docks battery is already dead or dying and the tab is on maybe 80% . Whats that about? Somebody experience the same thing or give me some pointer.
Not a big issue but annoying!

Once in a while ill put my prime down, hit the standby and a few mins later it turns on by itself. Turns on and off like 7-8 times.
Aliens....

Deep sleep? when and why it happens

I have went to open my prime several times only to have to press the power button over 15 seconds to start. Is asus gonna fix this? is something draining my battery cuz it is very low when it does this, however i see my prime lasting days if i do not use it for long periods

I also have this problem. Its only started doing it since the recent asus firmware update.

I haven't noticed this problem with my own Prime.
Have either of you tried doing factory resets? Generally speaking a factory reset solves all kinds of annoying software glitches like this one, especially ones that occur right after an update.
