I don't have a D2G to test this theme, but I did what I would normally do for any theme that I have made so this should work. This is definitely beta and I am posting it here for those brave souls who want to give it a shot. Make sure you MAKE A BACKUP!! And as usual, I am not responsible if your house burns down.
Link will be up once tested internally since there is no SBF.
im willing to try, im not very fond of the idea of softbricking my phone, but ive made a backup and know what im doing, ill give it a try.
I'd like to try it too. I've taken my backups too. Can't wait to post bugs
I'd like to try this.
Just installed the theme from frm. Its working great, there's a few bugs though. I don't know whether this is true or not, but I remember the settings menu had a green icons. Also, it makes some parts on the xda app difficult to read because its dark lettering on a dark background. Other than that I'm really loving this theme.

Yea, this was put in FRM I believe along with the regular D2 one. It definitely does has some kinks to be worked out though, the menu has the standard icons, and the dark lettering should have been fixed, I'll look in to it.
Will there be an option for a black status bar? The light green icons would look better against a black backaround. The theme looks great tho! I like how the sms popup app shares the gingerbread theme. It gives it a nice unified look.

Love the white bar gingerbread theme looks better with the white D2G.

Any chance of getting the gingerbread theme with transitions and the white bar? I love the white theme as it goes well with my white d2g

Amazing look.. And transitions are very nice.. But I have a question -
I am not sure if it is apt to ask this here, but what gives.. I was wondering if the fade in/out transition when I click on applications menu can be changed... Because, every time I click on that, I see the transition which makes me feel my phone lags (while it obviously doesn't)..

Any update on the stock bar with gingerbread and the fancy transitions? Maybe even a 10% battery meter?

Any chance that the theme will get the lock screen animation that the nexus s has when you turn off the screen. Really like that tv animation it does.

Where is the file? Where are the screenshots? Huh?
Download and install from fission rom manager.
Make backup first so you can revert back!

I'm curious, is there a way to make the notification bar black instead of the default blue, without custom ROMs (which don't exist yet)? I'm running the pre-rooted Gingerbread 2.3.3.
Edit: I don't mind editing whichever system file it is in to change the color, I'd just need some pointers as to where it is and how to go about doing it.
Holy crap did all those custom roms in the android development subforum disappear? I think one of the devs over there is specifically making a black bar theme for his rom

They are there, but none are for Gingerbread yet (There is one for GB, but I think the dev said something about he hasn't changed in graphical components yet). I'm not your average unintelligent impulsive user, fyi
Edit: Gah, I found one, (funkenblack) guess I derped and looked over it
Eclipse is black, someone posted screenshots on one of the pages somewhere between all the 'do I need to be rooted to use this' posts

I'd love just a slightly upgraded status bar done in black with black and white icons. Don't wanna do a full theme upgrade or ROM since I like my current layout.

That's exactly what I was looking for too.
Black Notification Bar
I have successfully changed the status bar of my Droid x2 to black. I will be attempting to post a guide on this as soon as the site allows me to.
4 screenshots. All I am missing it the battery icons and a few random images here and there on the menus.
Looking for opinions or suggestions now that you can clearly see the color scheme and what the system text will look like.

I wasn't sure how an orange theme would look, not a huge orange fan, but you definitely make it work. Looks good.

Looks good... and I actually am a fan of orange will def try it out when you are finished! keep up the work
Orange is looking good
Definitely going to use this! How long does it normally take to build a theme? In the terms of hours.
It really depends on how much stuff you theme and how complicated you get with your image editing. If you go right at it and do nothing else you might get it done in one day. Probably not though.

I am trying to wrap this up but.. I just keep adding to it. I am going to be including a lot more apps than I ever have. Think I am going to try my hand at making a Go Launcher theme too. If not, I'll just add a bunch of themed icons into the correct folder so you can change them easily.
Yeah probably the latter, it takes less time..lol

This theme looks very impressive. I'm planning on upgrading my version of Eclipse from 1.3 RC2 to 2.0.3 later tonight when I get home. I'll be sure to give this theme a try and let you know my thoughts.
I'll admit, it does look pretty good with ADW Launcher, which I have not used in some time. I'll entertain the idea though and see how it works for me since the launcher has changed some since the last time I used it.
This theme is going to come out with a full 1.0 version very soon.. no more beta.. I know this says beta but its basically a .5 version but 1.0 is coming shortly

Kevin3228,
You've outdone yourself. This theme is terrific. I've also taken your advice and bought ADW Launcher EX and so far I really like it. It's come a long way since the last time that I used it. I also purchased the SunsetOrange theme.
I'm really liking everything so far but, I have two questions.
1) What wallpaper is that in your screenshot? I didn't see that as part of the theme for ADW and wasn't able to find it anywhere but, I'd definitely like to find it. It looks the best so far as I've seen to go along with your theme.
2) Is it possible to theme Swype? Swype just comes up normal thus far as opposed to the standard keyboard.
To get the wallpaper.. download yorks orange theme it will come with it... I will be releasing within the next couple days a 1.0 version.... with a lot more things themed.... I am almost done with the framework entirely.... I fixed the dialer incall background and the jog tabs when u answer a call... swipe can def.. be done in the future though... glad u r enjoying it

Also as some constructive feedback - the Settings -> Call Settings menu is very difficult to scroll through. When attempting to scroll, it turns completely orange and you're unable to see any of the options.
This is the same with Settings -> Battery & Data Manager menu also. Overall I really like what you've done with this theme and I'm looking forward to when you release the completed version and/or when you also theme Swype.
When I get paid I'll have to buy you a beer.
Yea I noticed that as well.. just gotta figure out that edit

Original Eclipse Animation Better
Outstanding! Below I listed my opinions, feedback, and suggestions.
Boot Animation - I love this orange theme very much however, I think I liked the original boot animation for Eclipse. Would it be possible to keep the animation and change the colors of it to match your orange theme?
Dialer - I like the new orange background when on a call. I also like what you've done with the top 3 buttons while on call however, would it be possible to do the smae thing with the below 3 buttons, Bluetooth, Mute, and Speaker?
Call Settings Menu - The issue still persists with scrolling and everything turning orange and unreadable.
Battery and Data Manager Menu - The issue still persists with scrolling and everything turning orange and unreadable.
Swype - I really love what you have done with the stock keyboard however, as a swype user, I would love to be able to use the swype keyboard and have it match your theme.
These are the only things I could think of this time around. Again, you've outdone yourself with another superb quality theme. Thanks again for all of your hard work. If there is anything that I can do to help, please do not hesitate to ask!
This is what I need feedback.. I am working on swype actually.. as of right now I cannot get it to decompile but am in touch with nitro to try to rectify that... the orange problem I am 99% certain is an xml edit.. just have to find which one but it def can be done... the boot animation takes tons of time but eventually could be done... id say that is more on the back burner for this theme as I am looking to improve more things... as far as the incall dialer.. I am pretty sure o have a solution for that also... I do not run this theme as my main... so anyone with suggestions and feedback is welcome to provide that..

I'm running the liquid smooth 1.5 rom and for a while I used the stock system theme and then decided to switch to the cobalt theme, and since the switch it seems like my battery is dying a little faster...can a theme effect your battery life or is it just me? And I know dark themes use less then brighter ones but cobalt is a pretty dark theme..
also I'm using the nexus soft keys because I got a skin for my phone and now I can't see the other keys...would the soft keys effect battery life?
Sent from my XT912 using xda app-developers app
So since no one felt the need to help me in my quest to solar these problems, I took things into my own hands..
OK so i tested this with the Cobalt theme..
With this theme because it is a very big (and by big I mean full and has themed everything and even more) you will definitely notice a little bit of lag with it comes to swiping thru pages or your app drawer..and when closing out of apps.
Also, you will notice your battery dying a little faster..
I haven't tested any simpler themes, but I definitely will and will let you guys know..
