Hello,
I have tried absolutely everything I know and that I have read. 3 different micro sd cards and 2 card readers. I actually bought a Kingston card and kingston card reader because I read kingston works fine for goldcard. I am desperate for fixing this.
There is no way I can get passed the loading screen after rebooting the phone in usb host mode. This are the steps I follow.
My phone at&t Titan pi39100
1. Create goldcard using a 2gb kingston.
1.1 Format the card in Fat32
1.2 Apply the goldcard tool
1.3 Copy the eterimg.nhb file that comes in the file provided by Cotulla for the SPL. (25 mb) ( I have actually tried inverting the order of steps 1.2 and 1.3 just for the sake of trying)
2. Prepare the Y cable as you can see in the pictures attached and reboot the phone and try to flash the SPL. Pressing power, vol - and camera. It gets in to the usb host mode and then a loading screen appears for a few seconds. Next thing I see is the spl screen reading
PI39100 MFG
SPL-2.5 160015.3 (137079)
eMMC SND 15188MB
TOUCH A1 (F:81, ID:1, V11, B:F8)
RADIO- 16.23.02.26_A
Now, I have noticed that if after this I try to flash the hspl I get the congratulations message, but my phone has not changed at all and I cannot flash any custom rom.
I read somewhere that the MFG may be a type of SPL that is impossible to flash, Can someone please confirm that I am not missing any step that that there is just no hope for my phone?
I have spent hours and hours reading and trying with this. I had the hope that some of the problems I have with the phone will be fixed with a Custom Rom, but if I can't flash it, I think I'm getting rid of the phone. I see lots of potential with the windows phone but my personal experience has been terrible
If someone can help I would be totally thankful.

the AT&T Branded HTC Titan is not compatible with DFT's HSPL at the moment. Any attempt will update your SPL from 1.10 to 2.5 which is locked to the phone. Only Rom that is flashable is the Stock AT&T image.
Last we heard from Cotulla among other HTC Titan users are testing possible issues/solution. So for the time being there is no ETA as usual and we AT&T Titan owners are stock with what we currently have.
So the best you can do is flash the stock rom and update to 8107 and patiently wait for any news from DFT/Cotulla
Hey yo...is this an ATT Titan? or an unbranded Titan? It looks like an ATT Titan...but anyway, if it is an ATT Titan, did you successfully debrand the device to the Euro Rom first?
I see Tachi has beaten me to the punch...
Yes...I think we need to tell Cotulla or DFT to put a warning to ATT users who want to try this on the direction page.
IT IS AN ABSOLUTE MUST FOR AT&T TITANS THAT IN ORDER TO INSTALL THE DFT SPL/HSPL - YOU MUST FIRST DEBRAND YOUR DEVICE TO A EURO ROM! - lol -- However, I hear that soon ATT users will be getting some updates along with the 2.5 SPL...so this may be only temporary.
Try to flash back to the original ATT rom and see if the SPL will return back to 1.10. If it doesn't...be patient...they are working on a fix for this.

Hi Tachi91, Yes I updated to 8107. I guess it is all I can do for now. Thanks for your answer!

I cant go back to 1.10 I am stuck at 2.5 no matter what I do. I tried to debrand to a Euro Rom with no success either, this is actually what had me confused cause I could read some post from AT&T users confirming that they had flashed the DFT HSPL.
Well I will keep waiting. I agree with you that a warning for AT&T usera at the beginning of the post would be helpful.
Thanks a lot to both of you. At least I can sleep tonight knowing I it's not that I am missing some evident step.
AT&T sucks their policy is an abuse of power (to the eyes of a European) There are lots of things I miss from the US and I am looking forward to go back, but my phone carrier is not one of them
P.S. I can't make backups of the phone with Zune either, it give me an error and neither the patch from htc or the solution from microsoft work. Just sharing it in case it helps someone.

I have Bootloader version: 1.10. What does this mean? I can debrand my at&t titan without goldcard method?
Strangely, I also have internet sharing on my AT&T titan.

NO!
Flash the European ROM so that your titan can be debranded. If you attempt to DFT unlock now you will be stuck like the rest of us

Somewhere in the forum, you must use GOLDCARD method to debrand- does this applies to me as well? I bought the AT&T Titan used- the previous owner somehow has internet-sharing option under the settings.

Yes you need a goldcard to debrand the titan. To get internet sharing under settings the previous owner must have updated to 8107 since thats how i got that under settings as well. So you can check under "About" and if you have anything other then 7720 under "OS Version" that means they used the cabsender.

I wonder how he got internet sharing there- can this phone be possibly unlocked?

If by unlock you mean full on Interop DFT unlock then yes if you have SPL 1.10
Those who have had success using DFT unlock had previously used a Goldcard to flash a European ROM. The issue we are having is that if you attemp to flash DFT unlock with SPL 1.10 to get stuck.
So if you want custom roms it will be smart to first flash a European ROM (2.05) using the goldcard. Once you are runnig the unbranded 8107 rom then start the DFT unlock process
No problem andres22,
haha, And yes, I would agree...as would most-all AT&T users too.

All the AT&T Titan I believe, had the Internet Sharing in the stock Rom. I got 2 Titan last November with 7720 ROM with it.
Just want to let everyone in this thread know;
I see claims that debranding must be done and guarantees success...
There has been no quantitative proof that debranding does anything. The success stories are the loudest, of course, and more and more threads keep popping up where users are saying "if only I debranded I wouldn't be stuck on SPL 2.05!"
Having met with success after debranding doesn't prove anything. I didn't debrand and I got my Titan to HSPL, admittedly it was a lengthy and unnerving process. I don't think that debranding does anything, I don't think it even logically CAN do anything, but what I do know is that the AT&T titan is not "not supported", as was claimed in one of the first posts. It was supported, but I'd say half (or less than half, again, loudest of the bunch) of users are having issues with at least two parts of the process, and DFT is looking into it.
I guess I should get off my ass and see if I can unstick the SPL on my second titan.

If your claim is true- this changes everything.
Care to elaborate how you obtained HSPL on your titan? I am sure at&t titan owners are eager to know
Well I have two AT&T Titans, because I thought I half bricked my first one with the f400 error. Then I f400'd the second Titan.
I went back to work on my original Titan, I got rid of the f400 error and I THINK I was stuck on SPL 2.05, HSPL wouldn't install even though it said success. Some combination of hard resetting and flashing the stock ROM brought me back to SPL 2.10, from there I flashed 2.05 again and then HSPL worked.
I have spent significantly less time trying to HSPL my second Titan, but for what it's worth I have been unable to duplicate whatever I did to my first Titan in my half hour of tinkering with it. Stuck on 2.05.
(I think I spent no less than 20 hours on my first Titan, though most of that was because goldcard wasn't working with all but one of my USB devices.

This thread is to answer the popular question of:
"How can I get my Fuze back to stock and be able to return it for warranty service?"
I've been able to find very convoluted instructions and containing unnecessary manual effort for no reason. I returned phones to AT&T and HTC w/o any problems and I learned the shortest method of complying with the expectations involved. The thread will contain pictures of boot-screens pertaining to the process so that people can use them for reference. There will also be pictures of the progress and the different variations of devices out there.
This is for AT&T Fuze ONLY. The concept, however, can be used on any HTC Touch Pro (GSM and probably CDMA) as long as you get the correct Stock ROM from the Stock ROM Wiki.
You only need to do this if you have HardSPL already on your device.
To get to the canary screen / flashing screen (instruction for Fuze press and hold power and volume-down then press the small reset button on the right of the charging hole).
OliNex 1.90 HardSPL will refer to OliNex HardSPL for GSM Raphael devices.
OliNex 1.90 Stock Warranty SPL will refer to software also obtained from the same thread as above.
Screenshots below show RAPH110 and RAPH*** - there is no difference, so don't concentrate on that.
If your phone is Security Unlocked and you feel that you need to lock it back up (optional), please look at the procedures in post #2. However, I feel that AT&T and HTC will not care if it's security locked or unlocked, the screenshots below with the unlocked verbiage is actually a replacement that AT&T sent to me already Security and SIM unlocked.
Tri-color RUU bootloader refers to the colorful screen seen when the device is booted into flashing mode. This is accessed by holding down the Power Button with the Volume-Down Button and pressing the reset button. Reset button is located next to the charger hole. A screen showing the RUU boot screen like below will come up.
For the AT&T "World Phone" boot splash screen, see this post, but splash screen should come with an AT&T ROM applied in the step #5 below.
YOU WANT YOUR DEVICE TO END UP JUST LIKE ONE OF THESE SCREENSHOTS BELOW.

YOU ONLY NEED THESE INSTRUCTIONS IF YOU HAVE THE HARDSPL
LIKE PICTURED BELOW, OTHERWISE YOU'RE WASTING YOUR TIME.
Some Explanation:
The concern is the fact that my Fuze came stock with 1.95 SPL, not 1.90 that OliNex provides, so to return my device with 1.90 SPL was a problem for me. I am including OliNex's 1.90 Warranty SPL which I hex-edited to show 1.95 instead. The reason why I did that is in case the person forgets or screws up on flashing the stock 1.95 ROM as noted in the last step of the instructions below.
OliNex's HardSPL does not allow any SPL to overwrite it. This is the reason why you need to flash the Warranty SPL, to overwrite that write-protected HardSPL. There is something special about that OliNex Warranty SPL because it's the only UNSIGNED SPL that seems to be able to overwrite the HardSPL. When I tried to apply any of my extracted SPL's (repository here) it would not work, like the author mentions in large and bold edit and had a Moderator close his thread. However, once you're at step #4, you can then flash only a full Stock Signed ROM (original HTC basically) from step #5 or any other Stock ROM (full list). Whatever SPL is included in that Stock ROM from step #5, will actually overwrite the Warranty SPL applied in step #4. Just an SPL extract/dump cannot be applied to the device because they are not signed. It also cannot be done when the HardSPL is present because the HardSPL does not allow overwriting of itself.
Steps to return the Fuze back to STOCK:
Unzip the attachment called JZ_Fuze_WarrantySPL_1.95.zip to a new folder.
Run the EXE file to flash OliNex's 1.90 Warranty SPL. I hacked his file to say 1.95 (if HardSPL is NOT present on your device expect the flashing process to stop at zero percent w/o any progress, and ask yourself did I read bullet 2 at the very top!)
Get to the tri-colored boot screen by holding power+volumeDown+reset to verify that you see 1.95... you're not done. It should look like this... (NOTICE: THE LAST TWO LINES ARE MISSING WHEN COMPARED TO THE VERY FIRST SCREENSHOTS AT THE TOP)
Not done yet if your tri-color boot screen looks like this:
At this point, you're ready to flash the AT&T Stock 1.95 ROM which can be downloaded from here or here. If this is done correctly you should see the same tri-color boot screen as in the very first screenshot on top.
Props go out to: Olipro, Cmonex and mskip - thanks for the software and the insightful info!
Thanks!
JZ
Security and SIM Locked Info...
If your phone is Security or SIM Unlocked and you feel that you need to lock it back up, below is some info. However, I feel that AT&T and HTC will not care if it's security locked or unlocked, the screenshots below with the unlocked verbiage is actually a replacement that AT&T sent to me already Security and SIM unlocked.
SIM Unlocked: Allows you to use SIM's from another carrier. Can be done using codes or unlocker programs on xda-devs.
Security Unlocked: Allows you to flash radios from another device (i.e. Blackstone or Diamond) - It does other stuff, but this is all the casual user will use it for.
To check if your phone is SIM or Security Locked you need ATCommander. Below are the commands for ATCommander to check the status of those two things.
[email protected]?40 --- tells you if you are SIM Locked (all zero's is unlocked)
[email protected]?AA --- tells you if you are Security Locked (all zero's is unlocked or here)
1) Reset Call Timers to zeros (optional and needed!) AT command: [email protected]=270f,270f
2) SIM relock is not needed for Warranty Service, per Olipro.
3) Relock Security last with Secrelock.zip by running the EXE on the device. Or AT command to Security Lock: [email protected]=7,1
To SIM unlock your phone for FREE, call AT&T and say that you're traveling abroad and need your phone to work with another SIM chip, they will give you an unlock code!!! It will not look like the one pictured at the top of this thread, on the right, which says "Security Unlocked", but it will be SIM Unlocked. Keep in mind that a ROM can change your IMEI by the last two digits causing the need for a new unlock code from AT&T.

Once I explain a bit more, I think your need for a hacked SPL will disappear.
Basically, apply either my attached zip on post #1 or use the Warranty SPL from OliNex... this brings you to a level where you can just apply a STOCK ROM (which includes the SPL) and whatever SPL is on that ROM will overwrite the warranty SPL... simply use a ROM that has that 1.69 SPL version and apply it to your device.

would that be like the one I created but has not yet been tested?? As there is no dutch factory T-Mobile rom available other than reconstructed ones that only have OS.nb.

If so I am going to flash the thing and see what happens with radio and splash.

Interesting method of mixing different ROM pieces, a little on the desperate side but I've done lots of desperate things with NBHtool.
The problem is the key-word that you see at the top of this thread, your ROM is not "SIGNED" which means that your ROM might not be able to be applied to the device at all.

Thanx m8 , that is the feedback I needed and was asking for. I will take the spl out and try to flash and see what happens.
It is not that I am on the desperate side, I just want to get this over with and be prepared once I am desperate, which hopefully doesn't happen for a while anymore
EDIT: I took out SPL, splash and radio and it allows me to flash ! using the czech stuff, Flashing as we speak...

I have to point out that what you just discribed is not security unlocked... but SIM unlocked. There is a difference. SIM unlocked (which is what you are describing) is where you can put in another carriers SIM card and still use your phone with 100% functionality. Security unlocked is when you can put another carriers radio on.
Just dont want people to get confused.

Got it, thanks for clearing it up, I will correct it. Learn something new every day
Questions though:
SIM Unlock is something that you need a "code" for from the phone vendor another carrier's SIM can now be used, correct?
Security Unlock will allow you to flash another device's radio?
HardSPL allows you to flash a non-signed OS, Radio & Splash? Or just a non-standard Radio (from another device)?
Security unlocking is achieved how? HardSPL? So, security unlock=hardspl/softspl?
OliPro used Security/SIM/CID unlock in this thread title, do all three mean the same thing? Or will OliPro send a different activation code for each feature?
secrelock.zip that I reference in the first post is to re-lock the Security Unlock? Or SIM unlock?
On my first screenshot, top-most phone pictures (on the right) says "Security Unlocked" and I received it this way from AT&T warranty, which feature is unlocked on the device, Security or SIM? Seems odd that AT&T would send me a phone that I can flash any ROM to... (it does say security unlocked after all)
Anybody that knows please speak up, this is interesting stuff.
Thanks!
JZ
EDIT: per these posts (post1, post2, post3, post4) I definitely learned that SIM unlock is different from Security Unlocked. Two different commands in ATCommander:
[email protected]?40 --- tells you if you are SIM Locked (all zero's is unlocked)
[email protected]?AA --- tells you if you are Security Locked (all zero's is unlocked)
The phone that I have in the screenshot (with the white "Security Unlocked" verbiage) shows that I'm both SIM & Security UNLOCKED... the phone w/o that white band shows 1's for both settings so it's actually locked yet I do have a OliPro's HardSPL on it. I wonder if the white band is available on older devices.

Here are some answers that I got from DaveShaw. He answers most of my questions. The only left-over question is secrelock.zip will lock both SIM and Security or just Security?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3225507#post3225507
SIM: Allows you to use SIM's from another carrier. Can be done using codes or unlocker programs on xda-devs.
Security: Allows you to flash radios from another device (i.e. Raphael) - It does other stuff, but this is all the casual user will use it for
CID: CID unlocking is an old concept, nowadays you flash Hard SPL instead. This lets you flash any ROM, Splash or Radio (depending on sec unlock) to your device. N.B. the CID is the carrier ID (e.g. HTC__001). The stock SPL's only let you flash ROM's that match the CID in the ROM image with the CID on your device.
Also, SuperCID is an even older concept no longer valid on newer devices.

I'm really new to all this and I need to bring my phone back in for warranty repair and I just need to replace the SPL. I downloaded your zip file, unzipped it and tried running the .exe in the folder. It started the program but gave me an error after the second screen saying that the updater couldn't open the requested file. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Can you help me?

This kinda stuff is not easy to troubleshoot remotely so I'll give you some pointers... take a picture of your bootloader so I can have a look. Also take a screenshot of the error you get (if on the computer) use print-screen key and paste into mspaint or MSWord...
From the sound of it, you do not have a HardSPL so you're trying to reverse something that you probably don't have activated.
Thank you for the guide.
I just flashed back to stock spl / os.
I have one concern, the screenshot from the Att fuze show Raph*** in the tri-color boot screen, mine however shows Raph110. Is that acceptable for a warranty exchange?
Thanks in advance!

Yeah, you're perfectly fine... this is a quote from the first post:
Screenshots below show RAPH110 and RAPH*** - there is no difference, so don't concentrate on that.
And make sure to actually look at those screenshots (top-most) on the first post as you want to use them for comparison.
Also make sure to have the last two lines:
PCBID 0x80
RID 0x0
Huh I get both a one and a zero

Hi Guys, I just installed what I believe the accompanying Tango firmware for Titan 1 (see attached screen capture). For those who have read my previous thread on debranding AT&T Titan to Euro 2.5 rom, this also confirm that you can easily reflash stock rom on DFT hspl'ed phone using RUU.
To revert to stock rom, I used the TitanAdvancedRUU to flash stock euro rom v2.5 then used the cab sender to update to spl 2.6. At this point, I connected my phone to zune hoping to get an update notice but no joy What I did after this was to force update from 8107 to 8773 using a cab sender (see post from AlvinPhilemon http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1306415&page=106) The Tango update somehow triggered the firmware update from Zune.
The Zune update took roughly around 20-30mins, when it reboots the phone it was stuck on the htc boot page for about 10mins at this point I manually restarted the phone, and this time around it boot up and completed updated
I haven't noticed any changes that i can tell outright from previous version but i'm hoping that this might rectify stock rom known bugs eg. random reboot, wifi signal etc... on the second thought maybe the display font looks much better /cleaner maybe its just me
Hmmm I see on the first screen that after update you have 4.6 bootloader version (and SPL). I think now you can't install HSPL and I don't know whether you can do downgrade for install HSPL and customROMs.

With this new bootloader 4.6, I can confirm that this does not allow direct downgrade of SPL to install HSPL.:crying: ... even gold card method doesn't work. Initially I thought that I will be stuck with this stock rom which is not bad considering that I have an up to date rom and firmware installed... but not as good of having a fully unlocked phone Anyway, I tried re-installing stock Euro rom 2.05 first using RUU, but I got an invalid vendor, so proceeded using goldcard but I got "not allowed" on usb mode and kick back to spl screen. As last resort I tried the stock cingular rom 1.10 using RUU lo and behold it proceeded to complete the flash and I end up with bootloader 1.10 (see screen shot) Following this I thought it will be an easy way back to installing DFT spl2.5 and hspl by the same route I've taken before that is to debrand to Euro rom 2.05 using gold card method but strangely it wouldn't allow me, I got "not allowed" thingee after entering to usb mode At this stage I was really worried that maybe my phone was stuffed from whatever thing that was installed from htc bootloader 4.6 or maybe my goldcard is not actually working. So tried flashing cingular rom using gold card method and it did work. I tried few times to flash euro roms (diffferent versions) but without success. I even tried updating to spl 2.6 then flash euro rom to debrand but again failed... so out of desperation I decided to flash DFT spl 2.5 and the most strange thing happened it was installed then I proceeded with hspl this also went through without a glitched and now I am back on CUSTOM ROM!!! whew... for those who are now running custom rom, especially for AT&T Titan phone version, please don't mess up with your phone and try what I just been through... not a nice experience at all, I think its dumb luck that I got back to custom rom:angel:
LOL

New to the board - I hope my first question is not that stupid.
Got a new (European / German, unbranded) Titan yesterday.
Zune updated to 8773, automatically without any force today.
But it wouldn't get the HTC update (I was still on bootloader 2.6.xxx).
So I used the cab sender with the original HTC update (found it on this board) - it worked without any problem and I have the same versions as posted on the pic in the first message (bootloader 4.6.175006.2(140733)).
My question is: Will I be able to receive official Zune updates after that? Or am I stuck to the cab sender for future updates (7.8 & co.)?!
My device is not flashed or changed in any way - just used that HTC update cab...
Couldn't find a quick answer to that...
THANKS ! :fingers-crossed:

Short answer yes, you will still get official (future) updates from Zune. I reckon if you have waited a bit longer, you would have received update notification from Zune but doesn't matter anyway now that you have the updated firmware.
I have an AT&T branded HTC Titan, and aside from the wifi bug, my device generally works as expected. I used the cab sender "force update" method to upgrade to Tango, and again-- everything is pretty solid.
Can I (and should I consider) update the HTC firmware for general device fixes if I have no intention of unlocking the device?

The available cab htc firmware update is for Euro/International/unbranded Titan, so this will not install on AT&T branded Titan. It will come with error it you try to install the cab.
this is very confused
Is there a HSPL for the AT&T Titan yet? Goldcard didn't work Trying to flash stock rom worked, but didn't downgrade SPL So, I diffinetly need HSPL for a branded AT&T Titan. Thanks
Take a look over here at forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1744253. You'll have some reading to do.
If you tried the SPL / HSPL on your AT&T Titan first (before debranding) then you are stuck without a fix (as of yet).
I was in the same boat and my Titan had a memory issue and caller's sound quality was horrible, so I got a warranty exchange from AT&T. When my new one arrived, I de-branded it first with the EUR ROM, then flashed SPL / HSPL and now I absolutely LOVE my Titan (prior, I HATED it). Now (after 6 replacements & no AT&T locks) I have a custom ROM and everything is unlocked and no caller sound quality / memory problems.
Sucks for me then...

Thanks for the info. I guess I will have to wait til developers come up with something for AT&T Titan. I wised the instructions included info for SPL/HSPL on AT&T Titan, Oh well.
Well they didn't know it was going to he different. In all my HtC devices, this is the first that has been different and the most complicated I must say.

Hello, if you actually checked the bottom of the guide I've written for this, it provides instructions on how to apply HSPL for your Titan, assuming you did all the correct steps on debranding it first
V. HSPL
i. Once confirming you have 2.5.xxxx.xx on your SPL screen, you will now proceed to the final part: enabling HSPL. What you will need to do is navigate once more into "DFT_HSPL_WP7SG1" (the .rar file you downloaded from DFT), and go here: >DFT_HSPL_WP7SG1>2_HSPL>DFT_HSPL_WP7SG1_INSTALL.ex e. Open the executable and properly read the instructions.
ii. Enter SPL once more on your phone and plug it into your computer, making sure that it says "usb" in black letters towards the bottom portion of the screen.
iii. Click next on the program and read careful about what requirements you will need on the computer. Typically, it should all be there, but it never hurts to make sure.
iv. Take a deep breath and click next. It will attempt to connect to the phone. If it succeeds, continue reading the instructions the program will display. If it does not work, recheck your wire connection and that you have spl 2.5.xxxx.xx on your device, and that it is in SPL mode.
v. Make sure you select the rom version that you have (it should be the only selection there, but just make sure it is before continuing). Select next once you've made your selection.
vi. It will install HSPL. Once completed, the phone may reboot itself back into SPL mode. If it has succeeded, underneath where it shows your rom version, it will either have "DFT" or "CotullaH" written there. Mine says "CotullaH".

I know exactly where he is stuck because he is using USA AT&T Titan. The HSPL instructions doesn't warn USA AT&T Titans owners of the issue (AND IT SHOULD). So, if you following the procedure that every custom ROM points to exactly (like I did and a lot of other people did) you will be stuck on 2.5 SPL with no way out.
I haven't seen a warning to USA AT&T Titans anywhere that should say to de-brand your Titan first before attempting the HSPL or you'll be stuck.
Your outline will not help this person where he is stuck. Cotulla is working on it (I do believe).
There are a few warnings on the developer forum that AT&T branded phones must first be debranded before the phone can flashed with other roms
Ok, if you say so.

Not totally. You can still update the OS thru cab loader method to Tango and I assume soon after the 7.8 is released you'll be able to do the same. The only thing is you are stuck with crappy stock AT&T ROM. I say crappy because I absolutely hated my phone until I got custom ROM on it. Can you do a warranty exchange with AT&T?
Easy to follow thread for hspl
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1684912
If you have the image (or .nbh file) and you dont have it names ETERIMG.nbh it will not flash
here's why, The HTC OEM's names the device eternity. For the USB mode to be able to recognice the correct rom to flash it has to fit the model of phone you have. ETER is the first 4 letters to its OEM name. Add IMG and you got yourself the correct name for flashing roms to your device.

Cotulla is working on it (I do believe). I stopped reading the thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1684912) when I got my new device in and de-branded it first (there by preventing the situation that you are in), however, where I left off in my following that thread was Cotulla asking for USA AT&T testers. I have followed the email notifications that I get from that thread, and nothing new that I've seen. On pages 25 - 28 you'll find that Cotulla is (or was) working on it.
So to answer your question, I tried everything when I was stuck on SPL 2.5 and nothing worked. You are stuck on AT&T stock ROM for now. Maybe throwing $$ at Cotulla would speed the process up?:fingers-crossed:
Hope this helps

Hi, I'm currently on a debranded ATT Titan HSPLed with custom rom. Previously I managed to downgrade my SPL from euro v4 back to stock Cingular rom v1.10 These are the steps I took to downgrade:
1. Flashed stock Cingular rom 1.10 using RUU. This brings my Titan from euro Tango rom to stock cingular rom. However the SPL version was stucked at v4
2. Out of desperation, I flashed the stock TEST Cingular rom 2.01 from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1477189 again using RUU.
3. Please note that cingular rom 2.01 is a demo/test rom so its not functional.
4. RE-flashed stock Cingular rom 1.10. This time around it downgraded my SPL from v4 to the stock v1.10
Give this a try, and report back. If it works please before trying again to flash HSPL, debrand your titan to euro rom 2.05 using goldcard method
Goodluck.

Hello there,
I had the same situation on my AT&T Titan for 2 weeks, thinking it was my Gold Card or SD, but I finally upgrade the HTC SPL to the official 2.6 from June update.
Then I reflash the Stock AT&T Rom, but the SPL remain at 2.6.
Then I quit for a while. Removed the battery for a couple of days, & tried the Debranding again using the IMG_Eternity_HTC_Europe_2.05.401.01_Radio_Signed_16.23.06.10_16.32.00.23_ETERNITY_RELEASE.nbh, renaming it to ETERIMG.nbh & Goldcard my phone onto this EU Rom.
Then the SPL was downgraded from 2.6 to the EU 2.5.
After that I proceeded to the DTF SPL2.5 & HSPL & voila, the custom Roms.
Hope it help.

My outline comes from the guide I made specifically for AT&T phones that need to do in order to safely debrand and install hspl.
So, if the person went to read the guide fully (where I mention several times that this process is required if they wish to install custom roms) then they can find that they'd be most likely be able to install HSPL after using my debranding method.
My AT&T Titan has HSPL applied and running a custom rom, and there's a picture guide provided in the post to show it.
However, I agree, I do not see any warnings that normally, you can't install HSPL on an AT&T HTC Titan all by itself without debranding. Honestly, there should be, because I can't count how many posts I've seen of people soft-bricking/bricking their devices.
EDIT: However, I guess I forgot to add, you cannot do anything after you applied the custom 2.5 SPL provided by DFT, IF you didn't debrand it prior. If you did debrand your phone, obviously you'll be fine. If you haven't though, then you'll be stuck along with everyone else and you'll need to get a new phone or wait for the fix.

If this actually works, we need to spread the news about. There are still a bunch of AT&T Titans locked out there on SPL 2.5. franchize1989, OP, give us an update if it worked or not. Good luck
So as title says I want every god damn person who have, had this kind of buged phone, tell their expirence, for start I will tell mine.
When i got phone in about was writen x310e, then in SPL screen was written spl 2.5.16.xx in bottom F400, no connection to PC, my next step was to download every god damn europan eternity ROM and flash it via Gold card, when i was getting tierd of changing memory sticks i found one that did the trick with HD7, so i was happy but bump, no work on Titan, so I was searching for solutions and found Cingular eternity ROM with 1.x.xx, so i tried to flash it via gold card and it worked!!! BUT(one big but) it didnt changed Baseband version it stayed 2.5.16.xx i was kinda surprised i thought the flashing failed, but it didnt, the F400 was away and i have Cingular ROM, next step was trying to flash 4.06 bb 2.06... Nothing worked, so i thought i destroyed it since after cingular ROM nothing was flashable, the HSPL allways showed success but nothing changed in SPL screen, but my Titan isnt unflashable it can only be flashed vai goldcard with famous Cingular stock ROM, i managed to update Titan via cab and thats my max triumph.
My humble opinion is that the baseband chip got overloaded or mybe locked to this single stock ROM witch is Designed for this version of Titan.
I have and offer that for 20 euros a phone repair shop can do something with my phone and change the baseband same as make it posible to run customs ROM, they told me 99% it will work, tho he didnt wanted to tell me the method he will use, i supose the J-TAG box method.
You all are free to comment on my case and tell your I am willing to do something extra for at&t Titan users.
Thanks for reading
..... lucky
Ok, I'm in same situation. My titan is trapped in spl 2.5 and the only rom I can flashed is the Cingular eternity rom. You're lucky man if you can flash a custom rom if you're titan was trapped in spl 2.5. Need to know in more detail what do you do to got the freedom.
I'm not getting this, so you're saying you have an AT&T Titan with a model X310e? I though US Titan models are X310a.
It was saying x310e because i had europan ROM when i got it, how that guy managed to install european ROM on it have no clue, all i know is i couldnt install that ROM again after i flashed Cingular ROM, if i could i would investigate how he did it, but i think he flashed European eternity ROM with spl 2.05 without debranding phone first so he got stuck in 2.05 and F400 errror. That is my opinion
I'd say the same thing, the SPL block probably been overwritten by the X310e model. Happened to my DE Trophy, HSPL'd first then installed a stock NZ Rom, but bootloader has been overwritten by the NZ ROM, now the CID is broken but it still recognizes itself as DE Trophy.
So i found this ROM and flashed it IMG Eternity Cingular 2.01.502.04 Radio 16.23.03.17_16.27.00.23U OS 7.10.7740.16 TEST and it did flash, but Bootloader Version didnt changed

The European ROM can be flashed; change the image name from ETERIMG to ETERDIAG; be patient; it will flash; my device says x310e but the SPL remains 2.5.160015.3 (137079). A couple of days ago I got that same F400 error and I reflashed and it went away. He isn't using a custom ROM, what he did was use the WP7 Cab Sender and updated the OS to the latest build which is 8773 (8779 for some AT&T language packs).
I just HSPL'd my device...all of you with x310e ROMs, I will post this in detail later today...I put on my gold card DFT's NBH file for the SPL2.05...it took forever for the "Enter USB Host Mode" to change to load, but it will; next restart the device in bootloader and run DFT's HSPL...I think you have to be really, really patient with the USB Host...I will post more over on DFT thread later.

Just follow the steps I have posted or other instructions where the debrand instructions are; read that entire thread thoroughly; my device began with those specs but now I'm HSPL and using a 17 version Radio. Be patient; read it and the HSPL thread and Wiki.
Bootloader problem?
Your problem is exactly like I had when the HTC bootloader (no matter if SPL HSPL or RSPL is used) got "semi-bricked" , although the auto-turn offs I also experienced vanished in two or three weeks after installing OS (depends on amount of restarts)
This was on another Mango-Tango device (Trophy) but semi bricked for sure......And I guess your device was recovered and then sold after being dumped before as -"completely bricked"- by another owner.

Hi,
my Titan is stuck at
PI39100 MFG
SPL-2.5.160015.3(137079)
with europian official 7.5 rom
I can't HSPL. I wonder if I may rename the ETERIMG to ETERDIAG for the SPL2.05 so I can reinstall it, just it case the device may unblock...
My Titan is fully Cathulah'd. I was wondering if I should install this higher SPL version on it. What say you?
Bump.

If you plan to revert your phone to stock without any ability to flash custom roms - go ahead.
If you plan to use fully unlocked phone - just forget further touching of SPL part. "Higher" or "lower" - does not matter. We have only stock locked of unlocked custom SPL state.

Seriously? There is absolutely no fricking way I would touch my SPL after what it took to get it HSPL; actually twice, I HSPL'd my wife's phone too.

I know right? But I had to ask since I didn't know. It's still a wonder to me, the new thing my phone has become. Does hard SPL mean that nothing can make alterations to our phones? Like a protection mode if you will.

I bought a Titan already HSPL a while back but I got a 2nd Titan I which is my wife's device and it had not been HSPL until I did it. To make a long story short I undid the HSPL on my device when I used it as a guide to do my wife's device...I was PO'd big time but I successfully HSPL'd her device. It took me four days to re-HSPL my device but I had to go an entirely different path to do it. That's how I know either the Cingular 1.10 or European 1.09 ROMs work; the problems arise in the hardware needed to do this and the newer your Titan is in regards to when it was manufactured the harder it is to HSPL; it's one thing to debrand your device, it's a whole another story HSPL if the internal "flash" drive has been partitioned in such a way that either the drive is slightly corrupted or partitioned in such a way that HSPL is impossible such as the Titan II has been setup which to date is impossible to HSPL. If you're new to this then nothing I'm about to say will make any sense to you, but HSPL allows us to flash our device the way we're accustomed to flashing Windows Mobile/Phone devices for a good long time. In a nut shell if you load an official stock ROM back onto the Titan you're playing with fire. I know owners of these devices that would kill to have their device HSPL and are unable to. You can actually download apps to your device without the Marketplace and make adjustments to the device's settings. It's stunning how locked down carriers and manufacturers make them and why, I do not know. You'd make more money selling the damn thing and buy a stock device if you're hell bent on returning to stock.

Yeah the process took me about four days as well. I used the Cingular and European ROMs. But I guess the European ROM is what worked for me since my phone is now an X310e. But I don't suppose it matters a hill of beans. I'm proud as pie to finally know how to debrand and load custom ROMs.
