Does anybody know how to mute the Roaming tone? I get crappy signal inside, and every time I lose or regain signal, my phone makes a nasty sound? Or maybe I can change it (to 1 second of silence)? Running CyanogenMod 9, Paranoid Android (latest).

Hi all,
I was wondering whether anyone has any advice on an issue i'm experiencing at with my Hero.
Whenever I receive a call the ringtone (and vibrate) do not function at all. This is despite having them both enabled. I have tried formatting my phone completely and trying different Roms (such as Cronos and superhero) It works fine for a while after a new ROM install but soon after stops working again.
When I receive a call the mute icon appears on the notification bar temporarily. I also have lost the ability when i receive a call to push the volume buttons on the side up and down to change the volume.
Can anyone think why this might be happening? Could it be down to a program such as juice defender? (i have tried disabling it to no luck!)
Any help is appreciated

Hello my x10 mini is experiencing a problem. I updated to the 2.1 firmware right when it came out and everything seemed to be ok for a few weeks. Now I have traveled to Florida and am experiencing something incredibly annoying. When someone calls me it starts to play my ringtone, stops after about 0.5 seconds and shows that I have a missed call.
Then I guess it proceeds to voicemail because people have been leaving me messages. When I updated nothing was wrong but now it seems that something happened, any tips or clue into what is going on?
Thanks
I've seen the same thing happen occasionally, though I'd always just put it down to there not being a strong enough signal for the phone to receive the call - If you're travelling, it's possible you're just not getting as good cell reception than you do back at home (or whatever network you're roaming on to isn't doing a good job at redirecting calls to your phone)
I am a Samsung Fascinate, rooted, running a Voodoo kernel SuperClean 2.9.1 rom. (android 2.2)
The phone makes the call, and is silent as if it isn't connecting. The person on the other end picks up as if it was ringing normally. It happens most of the time but not always. I find that if I redo the call it will "ring" in my ear the second time I place the outgoing call.
I use the stock dialer.
I bumped this in the Nexus forum before making this post, but I come here hoping for a resolution.

Anyone know what is causing this?
Hey guys,
I'm using a GSM prepaid sim with my MoPho right now, and this sim gives me a network message each time I send a text or make a call which tells me my new remaining balance and call charge. This notification uses the default ringtone and also vibrates. How do I change this? At the least I would like to turn of the vibration since I have vibration turned completely off with everything else right now. Anyone know?
Thanks!
Strange....for many of us...that doesnt even work because lack of USSD support on Photon..
What ROM you are using ?
Well it doesent really work... It shows me a notification but the text is wrong. There is just a box like character and nothing else. But I still get the notification and a tone and vibration...
I'm running the latest stock rom, no root
Anyone have some ideas?
Whenever I am in a basement with no cell signal for an extended period of time, even with wifi, I receive a "X new voicemails" notification that goes away as soon as I go back into clear signal. If I clear phone data, the notification goes away, but comes back just as quickly as if I ignore it. I already use a 3rd party voicemail service, YouMail, and turned that off temporarily to verify that my Verizon mailbox is in fact empty. Clearing phone data and switching VM providers were the only suggestions I could find from a decent bit of googling; does anyone know of a way to fix this problem directly, or if not if there is a way to disable voicemail notifications entirely? It's annoying having to put my phone in airplane mode every day so that it doesn't buzz and turn the screen on every 20 seconds.
