How to change the position of status. - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Can anybody tell me how can I change the position of status bar to bottom...pls someone help me...I have htc salsa rooted but roms are not available....

I think you can change place of status bar only if you are on CM7

Yeah...you will need a custom rom to do that...so far haven't seen one...

You mean the virtual buttons on the Galaxy Nexus?
Its a mod that has to be done for your specific phone and ROM

Are you knowledgeable in decompiling and recompiling ICS apps? If no then ask someone who is.
Otherwise there's a guide on xda somewhere, just search it
Oh and I think you need to be on a AOSP ROM

There is a step by step guide on the first page of the link I posted above. Explains all what you need to do. Plus if you look through the list of icon packs you will find a HTC pack for you to use.

copy all your apks from data/system. extract all of them with apktool. download the htc icons pngs.
do this for each app.
lets start with messages. go into drawableMdpi and replace ic_launcher.png with the htc messages icon and rename it the same as it used to be.
do this for every other app and you have htc icons

Hi,
Since the question is without root, the repply is NO.
The launcher has nothing to do with the transparent status bar... It's related with SystemUI.apk...

Exactly, and to add another bit of wisdom to Viking37's wisdom, you won't find launcher in /data, its in /system/app directory.
