CM9 Fingerprint scanner - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So apparently I'm unable to reply to Turl's thread directly because I haven't posted enough spam around the forums, as such I need to ask here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1500535&highlight=camera&page=170
I'm running turl's CM9 v15 which notes that the fingerprint scanner works, I am able to set it up however I don't see the option for it to be added as a lock screen anywhere, is this just one of those options we'll have to wait for with an official release of ICS?

It does work, just not for the lockscreen yet. Yes, we will have to wait for Moto's official release.

Because CM7 is Gingerbread, and we do have an official Gingerbread release from Moto.

So lockscreen for ICS is completely different to GB!? Is it closed source!?

Android's lockscreen is open source, Moto's Fingerprint unlock is not. And GB's Fingerprint unlock does not work with ICS. Blame Motorola.

Yeah, heard anything like that. The know-how is not the sensor itself but the algorithm. I guessed that anybody made a similiar algorithm on its own for CM7. So thanks for clearing this.
Is a date known for ICS/JB Release!? Because i'm still on the 2.3.6 with webtop & fingerprint, making atrix different from the other phones..

It's still on schedule for Q3 which means anytime beween July to end-September. That is if they don't delay it.

Thanks! This was one of the very few things that kept me from keeping 2.3.4! I think I'll install it again now that it looks like the fingerprint scanner will work.
Thanks! I was wondering how to make this thing work again...

Multitouch issue..

Oke guys, i think i have to make this thread. Bcz i read some threads and still found someone asking about their multitouch doesnt working.
The problem is about locksreen apps.
At least i found this issue while installing widgetlocker and milocker.
I tested by downloading one by one my apps from market and then check the multitouch, and stop when i installed widgetlocker bcz my multitouch doest works again. (It waste my time in about 3 hours)
So, if you had that multitouch issue you can test by uninstalling your lockscreen apps and then reboot. If it still doesnt works you can just ask to rom or kernel devs.
And for devs or smart people (im stupid one.. yeaaa) i hope you could find how to fix this issue, is unfortunate we cant improve our phone themes by install any lockscreen apps.
Terimakasih.

I had this issue with widget locker as well.
To fix it, open WidgetLocker and go into the settings>advanced and enable "Retain System Keyguard".
Lock your phone and unlock it. Now try a multitouch tester and it should work fine.

Oh yea it will work from then on. You just have to lock it once so the changes take effect.
had this issue as well.
For me is was caused by widget locker
Switched to GO locker and the same thing.
So now I use stock lock screen
Its also helped my battery

Yep I used this some time ago only problem is if you use widgets or app shortcuts on the lockscreen you will have to use the stock unlock after tapping them. Not a huge deal if you don't use any clickable widgets though.

Hi, I tried your solution but it doesn't seem to work with my HTC Desire S (Cyanogenmod 7.1) I put a custom slider and 2 widgets, is that the problem? Does it have something to do with disabling stock lock?
Thanks in advance

[Q] Use fingerprint reader as scroll?

Hi, I recently got a an atrix, and been changing roms like mad... in one of those roms, I dont remember which one (maybe one based on CM7?) the fingerprint reader worked as a scroll... I could enter the browser and scroll down just swiping my finger.
Now I have a mostly stock rom (GingerROM based on 2.3.6), but the fingerprint reader only works for unlock, and there is no way to configure it for something else...
Can I install something to make it work as a scroll?

Are there any ways to use fingerprint as scroll for Stock based ROM. I wouldn't like use CM7 or CM9 because reboot or freeze error, I think stock based ROM is appropriate for daily use.

M afraid...
They have these crazy, super-cool sounding names for new lock screens which turn out to be just a new version of the ring lock screens..

It doesn't recogonise fingerprint.
Its like fingerprint lock app for symbian.
Keep your finger on the print (displayed on screen) and remove it after the specified time (set by you in app) and it will unlock. Same is like you keep the finger, beep sound is heard as many times set by you and you remove the finger; unlocked!

Will the Blade have FPLS or Not?
They may well use the timed software method but I think its just for devices with a finger print reading sensor on them like the Motorola in this clip:

I just tried it, extremely buggy. Still not pleased that this phone most likely has a compatible sensor, since it was made by Huawei, and Google claims it doesn't have compatible hardware. I would say they are just trying to keep it "pixel exclusive" as long as possible.

I just tried it as well. Doesn't seem buggy at all tried all the different options and all worked great. However, the major caveat seems to be that you simply hold your finger on the sensor (just like you do when unlocking the phone), rather than using a gesture - which is what people were wanting to get.
Yeah, it's not perfect but a decent start. True swipe gestures would be cool, I bet somebody gets something better working.

Lucky. Sometimes it works work well, others it would hang for over 5 seconds or just not do anything at all. It didn't matter what mode I was on. It especially got flakey if I pressed the power button. Oh well, whatcha gonna do. It's a step in the right direction so that's a positive!

Yea I tried every setting in the app, it was slightly more consistent, but I was still having issues. I will wait to see if a new version comes out or some other solution to these gestures surfaces. I am on the 7.1.1 beta, that could be an issue also.
