Hi guys..does this means we are going to having real fingerprint lockscreen(dont think it is possible ) or just a addition of a new themed lockscreen...???

M afraid...
They have these crazy, super-cool sounding names for new lock screens which turn out to be just a new version of the ring lock screens..
The Blade lock screen was a disappointment to me...
Let's see, only time will tell...

Jaani i dnt think so it is possible such find of fingerprint lockscreen bcoz it required some kind of sensor to recognise finger print.

It doesn't recogonise fingerprint.
Its like fingerprint lock app for symbian.
Keep your finger on the print (displayed on screen) and remove it after the specified time (set by you in app) and it will unlock. Same is like you keep the finger, beep sound is heard as many times set by you and you remove the finger; unlocked!

Will the Blade have FPLS or Not?
They may well use the timed software method but I think its just for devices with a finger print reading sensor on them like the Motorola in this clip:

If you are looking for a solution without rooting + flashing a rom, you can use WidgetLocker, but personal experiences tell me that it's best to stick with the stock one.

I'm rooted but no custom rom as of yet
Sent from my MB855 using Tapatalk
There is nothing currently unless running a custom rom. The pattern lock is tied to the lock screen unfortunately. Widgetlocker does work but I was getting the stock one pop up all too often while using it. I probably should of contacted the developer but never did.
I am in the same boat as you. Use the pattern lock but don't want the lockscreen. What I'm doing currently is just dealing with the stock lockscreen but using WiFi unlock so when I am at work/home both are disabled (no need for me to have pattern lock active unless I am out and about.) Just a suggestion.

I am using Ace of a year now. And I still cant understand that Samsung guys gave proximity sensor just to make screen go off when you are in a call. As proximity Sensor wont work for other uses (like snoozing alarm or silent an incoming call etc.)
Can those things work for my ace? is there any tweak or something that will make it work?
your help will be appreciated.. ty
its for diming screen

SURE it's an app called TASKER, in tasker you can do anything !!! the problem is you need to know how to use it.... but... search for a tut......mmm basicly the app is:
IF->ACTION
FOR EXAMPLE you can use the sensor for silent a call when you face down the phone (yes, like sense )
the limit is your imagination
So apparently I'm unable to reply to Turl's thread directly because I haven't posted enough spam around the forums, as such I need to ask here.

I'm running turl's CM9 v15 which notes that the fingerprint scanner works, I am able to set it up however I don't see the option for it to be added as a lock screen anywhere, is this just one of those options we'll have to wait for with an official release of ICS?
It does work, just not for the lockscreen yet. Yes, we will have to wait for Moto's official release.

Android's lockscreen is open source, Moto's Fingerprint unlock is not. And GB's Fingerprint unlock does not work with ICS. Blame Motorola.

Yeah, heard anything like that. The know-how is not the sensor itself but the algorithm. I guessed that anybody made a similiar algorithm on its own for CM7. So thanks for clearing this.
Is a date known for ICS/JB Release!? Because i'm still on the 2.3.6 with webtop & fingerprint, making atrix different from the other phones..
It's still on schedule for Q3 which means anytime beween July to end-September. That is if they don't delay it.

Use Pin/ Password if fingerprint-reader fails to read your fp and choose:

Sure there is such an app. Just enter "proximity screen off" in play store.
PS. Proximity sensor might be not detected on CM based ROM's

Hey people,
This happenned this morning, I was getting ready for school.
Unplugged my phone (Xperia Sola) from the charger and i layed it down on my wallet.
When I wanted to go to the bathroom but my phone was suddenly recognizing a new tag.
So I checked every card I had in my wallet to check wat it was detecting.
It turned out to be my ID-card ( It's a european ID-card ) and I can use it as an NFC tag just like the ones from Xperia.
This means you can use any RFID tag ( I think it is) as tags using this near field communication.
So I ask my question to a developer:
Could you make some third party app that makes you unlock your phone using one of the assigned Tags?
I think it sound like a great idea and lets check into this and maybe realize it with a developer who is into the Xperia Sola.
It doesn't especially need to be your ID-card, it could be any tag you link with it.
The ID-card just gave me the ID so it can check if your the right person that belongs to the phone.

It was just an idea for developers so maybe they can do something with it Or maybe as extra boot security when you restart your phone. That you need to swipe your ID past it.

Tasker.
NFC doesnt work on the lockscreen. It is a security feature that is implemented by google. Otherwise nfc could be used to take control of your phone in your pocket and such.
try search 'nfc retag' at play store.. it can be use to set action for that card. but it cant unlock the phone since nfc did not work at lockscreen..
edit: ok.. you can unlock the lockscreen. but you must use 3rd party lockscreen such as go locker.. ive tried it.. you can even bypass the pattern lock security..
