Does anyone think we can port the Google Now voice assistance search from jellybean to our not? Will google release it as in app in the market for ICS or will it need to be ported?

I think it is likely we will be able to use it on ICS cause most of their apps are compatible with most Android devices. I am 100% sure it will be a market app like all other google app so it can be updated easily.
It will be released on on the Play Store as an app soon..

I tried it on myu note with AOSPxXx v0.5A.
Although it worked, it was flaky and it drains so much battery. I also encounter a lot of FCs.
Also no voice search so I'll wait a little bit more. Hopefully they could make it work nice with ICS

He's talking about Google Now voice search. Speaktoit can't help with that. Voice search doesn't work for any of the Google Now versions floating around. The devs are working on it as we speak.

Cards are there, voice doesn't seem to want to work together with Google Now in CM9 Hybrid Paranoid ROM.
Are the cards supposed to show up on the desktop in a widget like format? Or you can only see the cards via accessing Google Now?

That's cool, but isn't there already a widget for Sense that does this?
Well?
Seems to be working other than a few FC's here and there and the voice search not working yet.
What's the point of it if it doesn't have voice working? Isn't that the whole selling point of Google Now?

I think what he meant was, how it it functional without voice search? Do you type in all of the questions? Also, what specifically "works"? Does it pull information from your past searches and automatically give you relevant information, or does it just load blank cards?
Isn't there a port for the 4.1 kernel for ICS already? Might help.

At the moment voice does not work ... It fails from the posts I have been reading they say it's a kernel thing so it may never work on ics unless we get a jb kernel. All searching must be typed but your answers are populated neatly in one spot ... A while ago it was showing weather nd stuff but I don't know if that stoped working.
Edit... Also sometimes the server seems slow.

PsiPhiDan I think the voice functions are tied to kernel JB shenanigans. Right now there's not even an official source release for EVO LTE stock ICS. For crazy ports source for everything needs to be floating around :victory:
So I've seen a post asking how we can google now on the amaze...and apparently we need to wait till source code is released or something?
There wasn't really a much clear answer to it so I'd like to ask; what's stopping the amaze currently from having Google Now? Shouldn't it have been included with the leak we got?
Didn't know much about Google Now, so I googled it. This is what I found. (I apologize if it's already been posted)

I believe so. I'm running ARHD which is basically stock sense with some tweaks and it runs fine on my device. Click here for the link. It seems they've updated it to include the voice search functions. I'm gonna try that out!

Absolutely does. I have stock 4.0.3, Sense 3.6, rooted, and Google Now is working. I installed it yesterday afternoon. It actually viewed my Google Maps searches from earlier in the day (I was logged into my Google account while searching) and it started giving me traffic and weather for trips to those locations. It's still collating data, as it didn't give me weather and traffic to work this morning, but the instructions say that most functions take a few days, at least. I can already tell it's going to be an invaluable resource. (Screenshot is of the bus system around my building)
As a test of both the cards and the basic functionality, I decided to look up the distance from the Earth to the Sun. (The Astronomical Unit). I wanted to see how similar the search function is, and if it'll start giving me cards based upon my searches.
FYI: I wasn't able to just install the .apk file - I had to rename it like the instructions suggest.
Thanks for all the replies and sorry for posting in the wrong board.
I downloaded this but I have to say (yes I know everything won't work from day one) I am impressed, but my problem is that I want the voice search. That's what I was looking forward to the most. Does anyone know what exactly you need to do to get the full JB voice search done?

They accidentally created the singularity and are at current fighting with a semi omnipotent ai due to their extensive search engine and semantic database of knowledge. Every known android virus and maleware app has been deployed but the majority of them switched sides. Google is losing.
The ai has just launched what appears to be a giant android mech and is wreaking havoc on the city, apple launched a giant apple in retaliation and the android is currently stomping the apple into the ground. It appears the mecha apple is using repurposed technology 4 years behind the android. Fans of both companies are literally cheering on their respective mascots
I'm seeing it on Mean 4.3.2.

The first is a twitter app i made. It doesnt have a timeline. its basically for rapid tweeting or for people who dont care what others have to tweet and just want to tweet.
The second app is an app that just speaks whatever u type. it is as boring as you are. so if you are a boring person than the app will be boring. it can be very humorous with the right words and phrases.

Initial thoughts...
The just tweet is a cool idea with poor graphics and honestly useless without a widget...if it was a widget it would rock but otherwise what is the point of going into an app to tweet when you can do that on any other app...the widget would be cool as it would take up less space by eliminating the clutter and nonsense that comes with the other Twitter apps that force you to have other peoples stuff iin the widget...I would put something similar to a Google search bar that people can put on their home screens and tweet on the go quick without worry....and if you made it able to be any color someone wants and/or a rainbow to match their themes it would catch on quick...but right now it is a clone of every other twitter app without other people's stuff ya know?
As for the droidmute it would be cool if somehow the droid spoke what you were saying...and adding different voices to match would be cool...right now it is just siri but you type what you want it to repeat....a different array of voices would be reallly cool..but other than that it is talking tom without the hilarity..
But good stuff for beta apps man as with everything time is necessary to perfect these things

Ok first things first, I have a AT&T Samsung GS2 Skyrocket (US). Updated it a few months ago to the long awaited but crappier ICS; left lots of GB crumbs........ Anyways, may or may not work on other devices, but tried on Samsung Galaxy S3 and it worked also (both of which are on the ICS boat):
* Pull down the notification bar. Double-tap your regular ol' analog clock on the top right. *
BOOM - World clock pop-up like the one you'd find on Android's new tablets! Somewhat irrelevant use for me, but still a new Android Easter Egg!!!!
I might be coming late to the party & I've just never heard of this, or I might of just discovered something new. But I have to give thanks to the 3 yr old who managed to make it appear and who, ultimately, managed to make my jaw drop... SMH kids these days
