Trying to share pictures via Messaging but the option isn't there. I can't browse SD either no option for that, Same thing with manually opening picture from sd card. Is it possible to add share via messaging option for pictures? Or is this something developer has to change.
Thanks.
pretty sure its not possible to change via options

So, awhile back I got tired enough of the default ringtones that I wanted to assign some to certain contacts. I was able to add them to the list of the ringtones. I did this by creating a folder called "Ringtones"...it works. only for some reason when I plug my phone into the computer and use it as "mass storage" it takes all the settings away and no ringtones are assigned anymore. Has anyone else noticed this?
There's got to be a way to assign ringtones and have them stick no matter what you do...
And the method used was taking the ringtones and putting them in the /system/media/audio/ and creating a Ringtone folder in the audio directory...it still wont stick after plugging into computer and enabling "mass storage".
connect as usb mass storage also seems to clear your playlists (the playlist name will show up, but no tracks are in them).
i just connect as windows media sync when i need to transfer files to it. you only get access to one of the device's memories via this method (either interal mass storage or sdcard) but it keeps me from having to resync my playlists all the time.
Thanks Souai, that is a good work-around for now...but I figure there has to be a way to avoid this and not have to tip-toe around.
When you mount as USB storage on your computer, it unmounts it from the phone. If the phone can't see it how can it see the associated ringtone? It's like this on every android phone.

Anyone know how to set a gmail specific tone and a diff tone for another email such as hotmail??
Also how to set tones for specific contacts? ?
Sent from my MB855 using XDA Premium App
For the e-mail issue, I suppose it depends on the app you are using...I use Enhanced E-mail and in the account settings for each individual account you can specify a unique notification tone.
As far as contacts go, go to the Contacts tab of the dialer app, click on the contact you wish to assign ringtone to, select Menu and Options then select your ringtone...repeat as necessary.
If you don't want to use the supplied ringtones, I think if you create a folder on your sdcard (or maybe internal storage) called 'media' then sub-folder 'audio' then sub-folders there for 'ringtones', 'notifications', and 'alarms' then place your personal mp3/ogg files in the appropriate folder that should work (may have to reboot for system to recognize the tones). Alternately, you can just put the tones in the appropriate folder in the 'system/media/audio' folders (will need to mount the system as read/write in order to copy files over - I use ES File Explorer...just go into settings to enable rooted options then mount system).
Vault—the Ultimate in Privacy Protection
Vault hides your confidential SMS messages, contacts, call logs, pictures and videos. It’s the BEST app for Android users to hide SMS messages and call history from prying eyes! It keeps your private stuff hidden, giving you complete control over your privacy and security.
With Vault, you can:
1. NEW in 2.0! Monitor who’s trying to see what’s on your phone and photograph them in the act. This feature requires an Android 2.3 (or higher) device with a front-facing camera.
2. NEW in 2.0! Hide your photos and videos so only you can see them. They’ll be encrypted and only viewable in Vault when you enter the correct password.
3. Import your sensitive SMS text messages to Vault. Strong encryption and password protection ensures they’ll be hidden from everyone but you.
4. Make your private contacts invisible. Simply add a number to Vault and any calls or messages from this number will only appear in Vault. They’ll no longer appear in your phone's native SMS folder and call logs.
TIP: We recommend adding your most commonly used contacts to
Vault. If your phone is lost or stolen, you won’t have to worry about anyone accessing your contacts or messages.
5. Protect your real Vault by creating one or more “fake” vaults. If someone insists that you give them your password and display your secret messages, you can show them the “fake” vault. Problem solved!

This app lost all of my contacts that I stored in it and since it deletes them from your android contacts I can't get them back. Photo/video seems to work but definitely would not recommend this app for anything you wouldn't want lost.

you must return to your settings before uninstall the app... i did the same mistake first time but my luck was that i chose to hide only the videos... so before uninstalling turn back to show contacts, videos, and other things that you selected to hide
I think you have a folder on your sdcard (the app folder) and there must be the things that you chose to hide.. cheek it
i have format my hp without backup my file on vault 1st...then after format i install vault back...my old file cannot open...please help me to recover back my file...
Does anyone know of an app that can actually hide other apps?

free cannot, premium may offer additional feature
Needs a file explorer. I have videos that I need hidden, but the app can't find them.

Just received a picture in my email that I would like to save. I download the picture and can view it, but then there's no way to access it or save it to my device. Not even a method for copying. Has anybody figured out a way to save or copy an email attachment?

I'll just go ahead and reply to my own thread. You have to go to your gallery, then switch the view to "albums", then all downloads. You'll find them in there.
Derp.
There's also a Downloads shortcut/app in the tools folder in the app drawer. Downloaded Astro file manager before I finally found that, but probably would have anyway.

When I send myself a pic in my email and I just want to share it somewhere I can't because it defaults to the "photos" app as seen in the photos I provided.
I'm pretty sure I accidentally set this up as a default moving too quickly and now I can't turn it off. So frustrating please help!
Thanks,

All you have to do is go to Settings --> Application Manager --> Look for "Google+" --> Clear Defaults
You should be able to share to anywhere now.
