What quadrant score do you get with stock ics on your phone?
I get around 2800 which to me seems low

I agree it's not that high. But, quadrant score aren't a fully accurate measure of how a system runs. I used to get the same score on my desire z with a ics port when clocked at 1ghz.

You can't compare different Devices with Quadrant, that's right. But you can see if changes on your Phone (Roms/Scripts...) take effect in positiv way or not.

I agree with that statement, but.... In my experience with editing scripts, framework mods or roms. You can tell effectiveness of said above changes just with use. Sometimes your your phone will run better but quadrant will say otherwise and visa versa.

I like running Sunspider. It's run through your browser and runs Java tests. It's a very thorough benchmark and something I run before and after every update, or when I get a new device. Lower numbers are better, as the results are in milliseconds taken to run the test.

Download the Quadrant app from the Play Store and run the test.
For the chip that phone has you should get around 2500/3500 which is pretty good on quadrant. That app is really accurate i had the htc sensation which got around 2700 quadrant score. Now i own the htc evo 4g lte and it get around 5100 quadrant score. You can feel the difference in the speed. The newer s4 chip make any phone that has it fast. I was a skeptic of the power the s4 Qualcomm chip but i believe now. Twice as fast as last year duel cores.

I guess those 3seconds mean 3000ms because test ran for at least 10seconds or more. That is comparable to DHD, but it means sunspider is not threaded and hence irrelevant because browser definately uses both cores.
How could iPad score that well? I guess browser is much optimized.

I have tried a bunch of ROM's. All give good battery life with Faux Stopgap+ 1.0GHz kernel. You will have to UV to get the best life. I am now getting 12+ hours with pretty heavy use, and could go 40hrs with low to medium use. Currently on Darkside ROM, but get same results with CM7 also.
I have WiFi and data on all day, but get best battery life using WiFi with screen on only and turning Wifi off while at work, which is how I can achieve the times above.
Ok, thanks for the info, already flash the kernel and will see if this kernel can make my phone stand for a day
Sent from my MB860 using Tapatalk
CM7 nightly build 20 gave me the longest standby time. But I guess every phone is different.
After using the kernel for a day, the result isn't very good. Only stand for 6 hours.I attach the batt statistic. Why when the phone in idle the batt consume still high?
Sent from my MB860 using Tapatalk
I think that the answer to this question isnt as clear as one may think...
1. CM7 while working good is still in beta, and Im assuming that it will stay there until CM9 arrives...
2.MIUI one of the more popular roms is currently in Alpha stages.
I believe that these two are probaly the most popular ROMs around, and not just for the MAtrix. I think that once we start seeing stable builds of both, it would just come down to a matter of preference.
For the time being, I use CM7. Its stable enough for everyday use, however it still has bugs here and there.
I'm desperately waiting for CM9 and I think that MIUI definitively deserves a try. In the near future I'm positive that this question would be a little bit easier to answer.
Btw what the best way to do UV ?

Is Geekbench an accepted Benchmark? How accurate is it? The scores seem to be all over the place with the Nexus 7 with the crappy tegra 3 beating the GS3 in one test while the GS3 beating it in another. Don't really trust it if the results change on the fly like that. haha

I'm getting 1854, 1574, 1292 respectively for 4, 3 and 2 cores. So the final score doesn't seem to scale that well with cores, which is obvious consindering there's single-core performance tests.
Here's the Exynos [email protected] 1Ghz with only 2 cores for a clock-for-clock comparison;

The A6 clearly and undisputedly has the upper hand here. The score may be lower but we're talking about vast IPC and frequency disparities here. The Cortex's are getting slaughtered in memory bandwidth.
And here's a 1704MHz bench for the hell for it: 2283 score.
Would be interesting if somebody with a Krait phone would run it at 1GHz and stock frequency respectively.
I hit 1800 at stock on Jelly bean Omega rom V26.

Any benchmark tool will be 'all over the place' depending on what is running in the background. Yes, you can turn off wireless, BT, data etc., but apps will still be launching and closing in the background which will affect the score. After all, these are supposed to be multitasking devices aren't they ?
Also, it's an inaccurate score if you actually go and forcibly disable system apps that would be running on a stock device, just to get a faster score.
Best way to use ANY benchmark tool is to get the device as near to stock as you can (consider a rom flash / data reset followed by very basic config) and then run the test a few times and take an average score. When I run benchmarks (Antutu, Quadrant, Geekbench), my results are often 'all over the place', so if I go with just one test, it would be luck of the draw really.
That said, my average score on S3 stock, rooted, unclocked in Geekbench 2.3.4 is 1586.
Funnily, when overclocked, the average was 1537
im on official (unofficial ) jellybean im updating to the latest leak now then i will come back with results that rape apple a6 cpu hard and in the arse
1830 at stock is my best so far without optimising anything other than a reboot.
The scores are higher on everything other than Memory Performance which is where Apple have beefed up the SoC.

This benchmark tests a combination of single and multi-threaded tasks. So obviously it will be all over the place when comparing an A9 quad-core phone to an A15 or Krait dual core phone. The phones also run differently clocked/speed memory, so tasks which are memory intensive would give a higher score to phones with faster memory.
I'm running Siyah kernel on Omega v26.1 and consistently get scores between 2000 and 2100. Only over-clocked to 1600MHz though.

I know benchmarks don't matter except for the theoretical performance of a device but Antutu finally updated their app and I was curious how other people's 6Ps were doing on the 3D benchmark. Post your screenshots.
I'll download the 3D benchmark, and let you know when it's finished.
Update: not such a big score...
Time to close a few running background apps and see if it matters..
Update2: tried again, with another lower score... Thermal throttling perhaps..?

Reboot then force close the apps that start on boot. I'm about to try that to see if the Marshmallow memory management is better than previous versions.
That's a possibility. I just got this and my phone wasn't running hot. Benchmarks are so inconsistent and useless in most situations. Lol. My only guess for a practical application of this benchmark is to see what ROM runs better on the same hardware. The only real way to compare hardware would be to be running the same exact ROM on each phone then see how well the hardware can perform the tasks with that ROM, but then, the results could be in favor of the losing device with a different ROM. This is impossible to do though because certain things are required for certain hardware. I'm going off on a tangent now so I'm gonna stop here. Haha.
