No Sim CARD Detected - HTC Amaze 4G

So my htc amaze has recently started giving me some problems. It just lost its service one day and it comes back once in a blue but then it goes away. I am running stock ICS. When i start the phone it gives me a "system process has stopped working" error message. ANd it doesn't get service. When i go to check the APN settings it tells me "No sym card is detected" I've tried restore to stock, custom roms and going back to 2.3.4; but nothing seems to work. I've tried my sym card on another phone and it work's fine and i've tried putting my cousin's sym card on my phone and it also doesn't pick it up. ANy ideas what may be going on?

It can be a hardware issue. Do an exchange with T-Mobile.

yup, just call. same thing happened to me, got a new amaze.

I'm no longer a t-mobile customer. Can i call HTC directly? Or am i screwed?

Status Bar Crashed Problem After restart...

I just bought Samsung Galaxy S II about two days ago. I got AT&T network. It was working perfectly....
When I turned of and turned on the device, the Status Bar suddenly crashed. A popout window occur saying,
Sorry!
The application Status Bar (process com.android.systemui) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
then the only option was Force Close saying on the screen; I could not use even the Home, Back, Option keys.
I took out the simcard and when i turned on, still the same problem.
I took out the battery and put back in, still the same problem.
I could even factory reset the whole thing the Samsung Account is halting it. I was enetering the correct password..It kept saying Error Processing failed.
are there any ways to fix this problem?
thanks in advance!
this is making me upset. I like this phone a lot.

What you need to do is flash a new ROM to the device, the ROM has somehow become corrupted.. Go to Intratech's thread in the DEV section and download the latest 2.3.4 ROM and flash that using the instructions on his thread, all is well, its 99.999999999 a software problem the 0.0000000001 is because you never know
[email protected]
Thank you I will try it now!!!!!!
I see he has not packaged a 2.3.4 ROM yet so try this one, Its KF2 and is the best ROM after the new 2.3.4 ROM I was running this up to yesterday, and will be ok for you until you need to upgrade again later

Galaxy S2 won't connect to network with a specific SIM after update to ICS

Hi,
I've recently upgraded my S2 i9100 to 4.0.1 (I9100XXLPQ) from 2.3.6 and my Orange SIM does not connect to network anymore (it says "emergency calls only"); manually selecting the network doesn't work either. It worked prior to update and I've tried several roms/modems without success.
Here's the tricky part: this SIM works on my other phone just fine, and other SIMs (even from Orange) work perfectly on this S2. :silly:
IMEI is same as on back of phone..
Any suggestion?
Thanks in advance!
call orange and have them reset your account. it should reset the sim to work with the phone.

Then what causes the problem?
Ok, so I went to my local Orange Shop, have them reset my account, change my SIM card, payed my bill (to exclude every possibility that it could be a network issue :angel. Aaaaaaaaand.. it was still not connecting to network. Went to a "pro" guy to have it reflashed. Same problem.
After thinking to smash it into a wall, turn acid on it and put it on fire, I've decided to play around with phone's settings (though it made no sense since I've reflashed it a few dozen times, each time with different rom, so settings would be reset).
So I've deactivated the PIN request on start-up. Aaaaaaaand.. it works! It connects to network, to internet, to everything. If I switch the PIN request back on, it doesn't work.
So it works without PIN request, doesn't with PIN request. What in the name of Chewbacca is happening?
Cheers!
Hey guys, after much pain and suffering I was able to get it working by doing the following:
*#197328640# to enter debug menu
click "6 [common]"
click "6 [nv rebuild]"
click "2 [erases three partition!]"
reboot
May not work for everyone and to be honest I'm not sure what that erases/rebuilds but it worked for me though do it at your own risk.

Hi guys i updated my s2 Gt-i9100 using samsung kies which brought abt this error of selecting sim cards with pin locks and also became extremly slow please help me undo this problems.

Sim card not recognized

About 2 weeks ago I installed on my Xperia S CM9 by FXP (v. FXP133). Yesterday my Xperia lost signal, even after many reboots there wasn't any signal (well, one time there was, but I losted it after 5 min), so I installed stock ICS (and relocked bootloader). But there is one problem: now my Xperia can't recognize sim card. IMEI is fine, baseband is OK, signal probably too (emergancy calls only). I already tried repair phone in PC Companion - didn't work. Installed CM9 again and unlocked bootloader - still no signal. In Security setting I can't set up SIM Card lock. I can't put another SIM Card, because I don't have another one on this size.
So, what can I do with it? Is there any way to repair my Xperia S without sending it to RMA? Thanks.
And sorry for my poor English, I'm from Poland
dude i have the same problem,
i used miui 2.8.10 for a couple days. The first symptom i saw was that it notified that there was not a simccard in my xperia s, but the simcard was ofcuz in my xps and out of no where it said that there was not a simcard.
i restarted the phone and same story and the second restart it asked me for my pincode which means that it read my simcard.
But today its is game over for me i tried so much restarts and i also installed the official ics no changes and i tried my own simcard in a friends phone (galaxy s3) and it worked but his simcard could not be read by my xperia s.
if there is a solution please share ^^
What are the exact message/pop up? Does it have any options like cancel or dismiss?
Sent from my Sony Xperia S
On stock ROM "Please insert SIM card and restart your phone". But when I remove SIM Card from phone, when it is on, pop up shows up with text "SIM Card removed. Restarting". After that when I insert SIM card, when phone is on, pop up shows up with text "SIM card inserted. Restarting". After that still pop up shows up with text "Please insert SIM card and restart your phone".
On CM9 nothing shows up, still no signal.
EDIT: Problem fixed. SIM card is probably damaged (on my uncle phone works), changed it to the new one :/
And here's the answer
Hey guys I can help because I grapple with the same thing everyday multiple times in a day
The temporary solution is simple.
Just click on settings. Then click on backup and resets. Then click on Settings Reset.
The phone will restart and you'll be jubilant that the issue is gone. But wait a min....its going to come back again! Just do the thing again. And don't freak out, no data will get deleted
All this said I'd love a permanent fix to this annoyance

[Q] Sim Lock Crash

Hi All,
I recently activated the sim lock on HTC One X+. Now when I return to the phone I often see the screen asking for my sim lock code, so I can only assume that the phone has crashed.
Now it could be that activating the sim lock feature is causing the phone to crash.
It could be that the phone has always crashed and I have never noticed as it didn't require any code to reboot the sim.
Has anyone experienced this problem?
Does anyone have a fix?
Could it be Android or the phone?
Any advice welcome.
Cheers

Hi, Thank you for the quick reply. Do you mean 'reset phone' in settings/backup & reset?
OK, might be getting close to an answer to this problem.
I have finally witnessed the crash. It appeared to be an App trying to write to an SD card. Of course the phone doesn't have an SD card. The problem is trying to work out which one it is!
I have 'Watch Dog Lite' running but it didn't show any App as misbehaving.
I think I could be on the right track though. Has any one else had this happen?

[Q] Unfortunately,android.process.acore has stopped

Hi guys,
This is my first post.
I just got a Sony Z2, and yesterday I updated it to latest firmware 17.1.1.A.0.402 using flashtool. After that, everytime when I switch off my phone and turn it on, the message of "...android.process.acore has stopped" appeared.
I tried to flashed the phone again using PC Companion to re-update the same firmware. I though the error message has gone but than it is still there.
I have tried several ways as mentioned in this forum but the problem seem to be there. I don't see any problem/error caused by this error message yet.
Any idea/solution to completely remove the message?
Go into settings > apps > all apps, clear all data for anything relating to contacts then all will be fine, make sure contacts are backed up tho of course

I have tried and have not seen the message. Will keep you updated if it has conpletely gone

Update: It happened again when I reboot my phone today. Is it possible a firmware bug?
I should wait for the next release, hope Sony will fix this issue.
Regards,
I'm on romaur which is 402 and haven't seen this error since I wiped contacts data so not sure, you still on stock or?

I also have the same issue as the OP. It particularly happened after I upgraded to .402 using PC companion. The message will appear always after restarting. My devices has not been rooted. Tried to clear data and cache for contact apps, but after restarting, the message appeared again. I am still lazy to do a re-install because aside from the message appearing only after a restart, there are no other major effect to my Z2's performance. but clearing it will be nice though.
I have the same thing when i touch the phone immediatly when it just restarted, but when i restart and leave it untill screen goes off i don't get the message.

Hi guys,
Thank you for your info.
I tried to disable contact sync of Viber and I think the message has temporarily gone. Sometimes it still pop up but not as often as before I disabled the contact sync of Viber.
Apparently, this problem is caused by contact synchronisation between Viber, Facebook, Messenger, Whatsapp, etc. Other users, such as Samsung phone users, reported that they have the same issue but when they turned off contact sync of the above-mentioned apps, the error message somehow has gone.
To be honest, I have just recently switched to android from iPhone, and I have been usings iOS for years and never seen any kind of issue/error like this on iOS. However, Sony Z2 is one of the greatest phone I ever owned and I am so happy with it, specially its crazy battery life.
Hope you guys will share your solution here if someone can fix it permanently.
Cheers,

possible fix
i had this problem, amongst others stopping my phone. i pulled the sim card out, then rebooted the phone. the phone then showed it was updating all apps i let it boot up and it seemed to work. pulled battery and put sim card back in. and all ok so far. i have sent my phone 3 times away to vodafone for this repair, with android.clock stopping, android.phone stopped working and the phone actually crashing on the samsung screen and not even booting up. each time all they do is a factory reset. like duhhhh, i have never thought of that (sarcasm). i am hoping that doing this, will give my phone some sort of permanency in it's repair. i have not rooted the phone, it is stock.
Vodofone refused to replace the handset even though it had been in so many times for repair. word of advice. steer clear of vodafone. i am cancelling all my contracts with them.
sorry that went off topic, but i want a phone that works and vodafone will not help you in that matter.

Xperia's have unremovable batteries, maybe you should steer clear of Samsungs
Is that a good thing or a bad thing though? Cos sometimes taking a battery out is what could be needed to fix a problem.
But point taken. Perhaps a change of manufacturer would help

I know people who advocated pulling the battery from devices as the only answer but I've yet to come across a situation on any device which couldn't be handled with >adb reboot or a three finger reset.
There's actually a method on Xperia devices, to disconnect the battery and plug it back. It's called "Hard Reset". Yeah you don't take the battery out in reality, but this method does it in Matrix dimension. So, the consequences are the same.
