I think its both good and bad.
The good thing is that sites is using HTML5 more and more, the bad thing is that many sites still uses flash.

That's only partially correct. There might be security patches (maybe) but that's it. The app will even be removed from the Play Store later this year. So no updates to fix compatibility with new OS versions. That means no Flash on Jelly Bean.

That's very bad news especially for the sgs3. Flash is very buggy on this phone and won't be fixed. When it does work the performance is amazing though. You don't even feel any slowdown when flash is enabled.
What is there reason? It's got 100 million + downloads.. people want flash. Ad a few ads or whatever to make it profitable

Most probably because google want to drop support for flash. So they stopped support in advance. Its a pity because flash works perfectly in the last 2 generations of android smartphones and provided a truly desktop internet experience. Now that android does not support flash browsing is not anymore capable than ios anymore.
Yeah lots of people will probably respond with something about html5 being gazillion time better than flash comments but you know what? html5 performance sucks even worse than flash. Youtube html 5 videos perform poorly even on my i7 desktop pc. So what if html 5 is the future? This has been repeated over and over for the past 3 years but guess what? Today flash is still the more widely used format. I want to view my content now not in the uncertain future.
They said the same about ICS. I'd ignore the comment, the writer is probably just doing some PR to suck up to Apple.

This article compares flash vs html 5 performance. Flash came out on top. While that was back in 2010, I tested it today on my galaxy S3 and flash is still much faster than html5. 25fps vs 48fps.
HTML5 performance suck balls even on my Desktop. Tried all the browsers, many demos work badly. Buggy or not, flash is better right now.
HTML5 videos doesn't even play on the Vimeo desktop page while flash worked perfectly.

Not even custom built roms from ground up remotely come close to perfection, so dont expect too much from samsung, you may need to mix and match some roms/modems/kernels/apks to get the best possible result.

And is he talking about the galaxy player 5.0, I assume? There is a phone called the galaxy 5, so...
No, but apparently the new (yet underwhelming) Samsung Galaxy Player 4.2 is supposed to get it, so we'll see. It basically has the same innards and this device (the SGP5) is clearly able to run it even with a single-core processor.

It's not that it won't play stock, it's because it is being phased out by Adobe. They canned it from the Market sometime in August and will no longer be making regular updates to it, in order to progress movement over to HTML5 content.

Actually, Adobe and Samsung made an agreement to keep Flash updated for the Galaxy S3, which also means for the Galaxy Note 2 as well since they have almost identical hardware/software. Flash was just updated again a couple weeks ago to .34. I've been using .29 on my devices.
And even though the latest Flash versions are only for the S3, they will work on most any device running Jellybean.
The following thread is keeping updated with the latest versions of Flash, along with text and video tutorials on how to install:

If we see it, I think it'll be a positive sign that the carriers listen to the voices of users wanting (demanding) updates and similar featuresets to other models of the same handset (not stripped down) but I'd be really surprised if we ever see another official update out of AT&T for the Note.
We're under contract for two years, IMO we should get good support and reasonable updates for those two years.
I still think if carriers didn't screw with the updates so much, they could get them out faster and cheaper, but I doubt that'll happen

true but not exactly what I meant. What I mean is say Samung goes to release say the Note 3, they write an ASOP rom, and then another that has all of the touchwiz, multiple windows and other cool samsung apps. When the phone hits the carrier, it will inevitably be laced with AT&T bloatware, but we'd still have the original ASOP from sammy to choose from. Now I know in this model there's no way a company like Samsung could maintain 2 ROMs for every phone, but I think many of us would prefer to go without touchwiz for a clean experience and true customizability that Android was meant to be.
Really though, if Google went to more of a modular design instead of encoding the hardware drivers within a kernel that would be the end all of that. Yes I do understand that kernal compilation with the drivers provides a speedier system, but heck our phones are packing a dual core and it's just linux and linux is quick by nature.
Just my thoughts.
Matthew Fry posted the following here:
Ladies and gentlemen, I have the most amazing news. Pretty much the best news I can think of.
I have finally received word back from the Mali Developers. They revisited the issue and found that the fault was indeed in the Mali drivers.
"Following previous emails, the Nexus 10 issue that you have been mentioning has been fixed in the latest versions of the Mali driver."
It is, unfortunately, Google's responsibility to release this new driver version with the next Nexus 10 factory image. We can only hope that the fact that I/O has come and gone and the recent release of the Google Edition S4 and One on 4.2.2 does not mean that JB 4.3 or KLP are a long ways out.

So hopefully we'll see the drivers soon! They're supposed to be released here when ready!
I really hope they fix this issue. I turn off my tablet at night so its not a huge issue but on heavy usage days I'm guaranteed at least a reboot if not more.

Oh thank god. That's my only gripe with this tablet.
That sounds great! however... not sure if that is something that is going to be included in Android 4.3, if it was recently released Google would have to make a lot of testing before put that in Android 4.3, maybe it was distributed to them before, will see next week..
I am hoping with all my heart that this is baked into 4.3. I cannot STAND this issue any longer.
Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk HD
I also can't wait to have a stable system that runs without fault for days, without having to reboot. I use a auto-reboot app that launches everyday at 7:10 AM just after my alarm, no biggie but if I watch some html videos...

I think we have to hope it is going to be release as part of the 4.3 update. If the Mali update was from the 14th June then I think it will be included in the 4.3 update. If it is the 14th July then maybe we might not see it until 4.3.1 or KLP. Let's hope it makes it

He means install Nova launcher from playstore and use it as your default launcher. Also in advanced settings of Nova launcher there is an option for keeping the screens in memory to avoid redraws. It seems these are not complete source codes and in fact you need ddk - driver development kit - to build real drivers which is not available to devs. So I guess we should wait for Google.
