Which version Siyah, and which version VK?
Perhaps you were trying to install an S3 version of Siyah? Or an ICS version of Siyah to a Gingerbread version of VK? Or a GB version of Siyah to an ICS version of VK?
Can't answer the question without knowing versions. (or filenames of what you downloaded)

So you're on Siyah 3.3 now? Is it currently working with Siyah 3.3?
What version of Speedmod are you trying to now install?

This is going to sound like a dumb question, but did you by chance download the Odin file and try to install that in CWM, instead of downloading the CWM file?

Nope. That was my last guess. Sorry.

Well try to re download it from www.gokhanmoral.com and flash through cmw recovery. It might be a bad download. All I can think of.

Samsung does not provide changelogs, so test and report. It feels faster, and i didn't get any crahes, but it's subjective judgment.

As the title says, it's flasheable via CWM. For ODIN, download directly from SamFirmware. It's SAMSUNG stock, so it does have Touchwiz. Everything seems to work.
OK, thanks
Is it possible at all to uninstall Touchwiz. so one would get the default ICS launcher?
No work gps this version 4.0.3

It's not viable to remove Touchwiz, but you can use the Trebuchet Launcher, that is close to stock:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1410674
Be sure to move it to /system/app, or else you will have problems with widgets, etc.
Thanks..

Stupid question but...
Since it's in a zip - is it flash via Odin using ONE PACKAGE?

The question wouldn't be stupid if it wasn't stated on the thread title that this is a CWM package. So, no ODIN involved. And i have already answered this question on the first page.

Sorry - didn't realise CWM mean ClockworkMod!
I am assuming I can directly upgrade from Gingerbread?

Need help rooting a weird kernel

I am trying to root a SGS2, i am not sure what kernel to use, my current kernel version is XWLPD-CL524746 [email protected] 154 #3
What I want is clockworkrecovery in order to install a MIUI rom.
this guide states the following:
To work out which version you need go into Settings --> About Phone in your Galaxy S II, and scroll down to where it says "Kernel version". You will see a string something like this: 2.6.35.7-I9100XXKI3-CL571576. The yellow bit after the XX is what you're looking for.
My current kernel does not correspond to this.. what to do?

You better take the 'original' guide for CF-Root. Pay special attention to the section titled Help! Which file do I use ?.

Look here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=13712988
You will find your stock ROM and kernel for XWLPD. Flash them. Now, you can use cf_root lpd to get cwm and root or siyah kernel or a temporary cwm, it is your choice

[Q] Siyah 4.0.X

Hi,
I know this is a very basic question. But, it would be great if someone can answere this for me. I see a change log on Siyah Kernel 4.0.1 that reads like this "No Cap_Erase, No hardbrick". Does this mean ICS 4.0.4 is safe to use if I have Siyah Kernel 4.0.1 or above ? I think after reading a lot of hardbrick cases on XDA .. What I understood was most of the cases were because of the kernel that is being used rather than the firmware ... am I right on this ?
Thanks.
Every version of Siyah above 3.5.2 are safe.

I believe you are right. He only had one that was bad, but that was a long time ago. You just need to be aware of the version you download (only the s2 one) and if they are compatible with the version of android you're running (ICS/JB)

[Q] How to install supernexus 2 on my unrooted I9100P?

I have my I9100P running 4.1.2 xxlsq (baseband I9100PBVLS2), and I want to change the firmware to supernexus, but I can`t find how to root it with a kernel that suports very good supernexus, can someone teach me all of the steps. I don`t have CWM installed, so I need a full tutorial. Thanks! I really appreciate.

Yes it matters which one you flash. Go to gokhanmoral.com and download the one that matches your phone and android version.

I Know how to flash the kernel, but what I don't know if it matters what kind of 4.1.2 I have... So, does it matter what kind of stock JB do I have? Or I can flash siyah no matter the version of 4.1.2? And of course no matter I have I9100P?
It doesn't matter.
Wanna play it safe? Flash I9100's jb and then flash supernexus.

Flashing GB ROMs - is it safe?

Not an Odin image, just a regular zip.Is there any risk to it, now that I have the JB modem and such?
If so, can anyone link to a 2.3.5 rom samsung based?I tried villain but all links are dead.
