[Q] Flash on 101g9 ics - Gen8, Gen9, Gen10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi folk,
I'm here to ask you: have you problems with flash videos streaming on the 101g9 1.0 ghz ti omap 4430? Since HC I had problems like laggy flash video streaming, then on ICS official too.
I'm talking about anime videos, that my other cheap tablet (a mediacom with 1gb ram, ics, 8" display (1024x768), arm cortex8 single core) can easily handle.
With my A101g9 I have slow flash videos loading and then browser's FC without errors...is that a common problem?
Thank you so much

1.) It looks like 100% Korean.
2.) I don't think it mentions having 1GB of RAM , so I'd doubt it.
3.) I'm pretty sure they wouldn't work, the developers would have to adapt the current ROMs to it.
Bottom line : Don't buy it. It still has a low screen resolution, barely changed camera (3.2mp -> 5mp). Who knows about the RAM, it's Korean so it's OVERPRICED. A dual-core processor isn't worth buying a whole new device plus paying a premium.
Save your money and wait for a US/International version. Preferably a US since it'll probably sit around the current Galaxy 5 prices of $230/$270 (changes a lot) and may have better specs, hard to tell for now.
According to a guy in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1593190
It does have 1GB of RAM but it isn't worth the price tag. Samsung said there wouldn't be a us version. (probably would have been announced with the 3.6 & 4.2 if it was coming state side)
I am sorry that ur wrong. GALAXY PLAYER 70 PLUS is not 1GB RAM. It is 512MB RAM.

They changed the camera to full hd.
I have sgp 5.0 and the device is slow i dont have enough free ram (max 140 free ram after closing some apps that return automatically run again later)
I use tegrak oc so i have 1.3 ghz to make the device work faster but it still slow.
Games like pib got a lot of little stops and it sometimes even temple run.
And its little embarrassing that you give the device to a friend and it start to stuck in the games and then i need to taje the device and start kill the apps and hope it won't stuck again. Sometimes it stucks reallt hard so i need to restart the device.
This is why i want to buy the new galaxy player because it much much better.
The problem is that there are not a lot of devs to the galaxy player so it doesn't have a lot of roms :-\

I have got one GB70D and it does have 1GB RAM. But I am not sure which cpu it has. The gpu is PowerVR SGX 540, and the frequency is 300~1008MHz. It seems to be omap 4430, but i run Antutu benchmark and compare its score with LG P920. The 2D and 3D scores are much lower than P920.
I just got a used GP70+ (YP-GB70D) and it has 1 GB RAM.
I am quite disappointed with it - the major problem is the Adobe Flash performance of videos played in the web browser.
The GP70+ has flash 10.3 installed. Since Flash player is no longer available in Google Play, I use backup copies from my other phones and tablets and .apks from apktop. Flash 11 does NOT work - either causes force closes, or start playing and freezes. I installed the last version of Flash 10 before 11 (10.3.186.7), and it can only play up to 480p video - NO HD Flash, that completely freezes.
This is really unacceptable for a dual core OMAP4430 device. My GP5.0 and the Galaxy S phone has a single core Hummingbird CPU. It has Flash 11.1 and can play up to 720p Flash video in the browser.
The device also feels a little sluggish for a dual core tablet, even when using GO Launcher. It has a 800 x 480 screen, which is lower resolution than eg. Kindle Fire (which also has OMAP4430), the GPU drives fewer pixels and everything should be faster.
One big plus is that 1080p STORED videos (MP4, DIVX) play flawlessly with MX player - MX player shows that hardware decoding is enabled. HW acceleration is NOT supported in the single core GP5.0, and it can only play up to 720p (some not all, depending on bitrate).
P.S. By the way, if any GP70+ owners want a copy of the rooted firmware of this player (GB70KRLD2), please post your request here or PM me (I don't want the upload link to be killed quickly). I searched high and low and finally found it in a Chinese forum (Google Translate saves the day!). Thank goodness it was still good for download.

[Q] Goclever Tab A93, How good it is?

Hello, I hope that I put this in right section.
One day I tought of buying a tablet, so I browsed internet, and one very good-looking device.
It's Goclever Tab A93, I've never heard of this company. o.o
In specifications it looks too beautiful to be true for this price. ( 117$ In Us money)
Could somone tell me, whats good or bad about this?
Specs -
Processor: Cortex-A8 1GHz (A13, GPU Mali400)
OS: Android 4.0.4, with Google Play.
RAM: 512MB DDR3
Flash: 4GB MLC NAND flash
Screen: 9" LCD TFT 800x480
Touch screen: Capacitive 5-point multi-touch
Connection network: Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n)
3G support: external dongle 3G (optional)
Bluetooth: No
Battery: 5000 mAh lithium-ion polymer 3.7V
Depends on the optimisation of the rom, but with that hardware expect it to be laggy a bit. Also, that res is to small for that screen size. Battery should last a couple of hours at most.
However, it's best if you could try it and see for yourself...

Aye! Thanks for help.
Will It be able to play games, will it meet the average game requirements?
On Goclever homepage it says that this will be enough to play the games, but who knows ...
Angry birds and similar probably yes, but GTA and the likes, no...

HIPO A106T Android 5.1 Tablet PC - root?

Just got this tablet today. Here are the specs:
Android 5.1 Lollipop OS: Allows you to remain connected and productive
CPU: Allwinner A83T Octa Core 1.8GHz
GPU: Mail - 400MP2 is Better and faster in playing games and watching videos than the previous generation
10.6 inch Screen: 1366 x 768 IPS screen offers excellent experiences for watching videos and browsing the Web
1GB RAM + 16GB ROM: Offers ultra-fast surfing online. Whether it is needed for work, study or play, it will suit your all needs
(http://www.gearbest.com/tablet-pcs/pp_386504.html)
Since it's a generic Chinese tablet, root is theoretically possible? I've seen talk of Kingsroot, is that safe? Never heard of it before! Thank you for any info!
EDIT: I think this is the website with all the drivers and tools? http://www.yanbochuang.com/h-col-123.html
Just to update: used Kingroot, and it works! So if you want a nice cheap tablet with root, this is a good option.
No bloat, barely anything installed. BUT there was com.softwinner.loggerservice, which sounded dodgy, so I uninstalled it

Choppy 1080p playback on Asus Chromebox CN60 (Celeron 2955U + 8GB Ram)

After a number of failing Android TV boxes, I began searching for something better. I had set up an openelec box for my buddy on a CN60, and figured I'd do something similar as the hardware seemed more than performant.
My needs: Plex, Kodi, Netflix. Much of my local content is 1080p.
After successfully installing Remix OS (3.0.7) on my upgraded chromebox (celeron 2955u w/ 8gb ram) everything seemed to perform fairly snappy. Apps load quick. The OS itself loads quick. The trouble began when I started setting up plex and kodi.
SD is fine. 720p is a bit choppy but fairly smooth but 1080p files basically don't play at all. They begin to play and are choppy as heck. Audio is ok, but the video frame rate is maybe 1 frame per 30 seconds, and sometimes just stops all together.
I assume this is a limitation of the code. Has anyone worked out a solution? Does remix perform like this on higher end hardware? I have some i5's kicking about, I just wanted to use this on a machine with a smaller power and size footprint.

Maybe you should the dev team to get improved support for your device then
I've got a CN60 Celeron CPU and from what I've read the only sure way to get 1080P on these devices is with a core i3 or i5 option not the Celeron. As history proves, the Celeron is a pathetic CPU except for web surfing and document creation with occasional SD video watching.

As I stated above, the Celeron proves more than capable of playing 1080p files (streams or local) on a number of other OS'. (Currently running Gallium w/ Kodi 17 beta, its fairly snappy.) I suppose its a limitation of the Android-x86 instruction set being more geared towards newer CPU's. It should be noted that Remix OS for PC is advertised as being built to 'bring old hardware back to life', so I figured I'd pose the question to see if there was a solution other than 'get a new computer.'

Then check which drivers are being loaded by the OSes and see if there's anything standing out.

Custom ROM for android tablet?

Greetings! I recently got my hands on an old android tablet. The problem is that it is very slow and laggy and I figured the best solution to that would be changing the rom, flashing a new custom rom. I've been looking all over the web for a custom rom specifically for that tablet, but there's nothing. Can't even find anything similar to flash using Clockwerk. The tablet is Vivax TPC-71203G. It has 512mb RAM, 1.2Ghz processor, 4GB storage. Its resolution is 1024x600. I think I wouldn't use the tablet for any heavy software, only reading books/ comics and occasionally maybe playing light games. Any help would be appreciated
