GSM, hboot 1.49.0018, radio: 10.15.9020.06_M never changed. I noticed that after installing Virtuous Shooter rom, my signal often shows 0 bars.
I installed stock software, next I did update to lastest android and have now 1.53.0007 hboot...
Does the phone turn back on when you try to turn it on or does it not respond?
And, I see you're Polish, you can PM me in Polish if it makes your life easier. (;

It started happening about a week ago and was random, my phone has been rebooting and turning its self off, it was doing it all the time and now it just seems to do it when the screen is off and its idling, ive tried different roms and that dont change anything i have noticed the battery indicator messes up a good bit and cant give me my battery percentage, ive cleared battery stats and wiped caches, whats going on here?

Maybe the battery is shot?
We're comin from a pure power source.
sounds to me like a bad or cheap battery. btw wiping battery stats does absolutely nothing as far as battery life goes. so its really not even worth taking time to do. also take out your sd card and see if the problem keeps happening. I had a cheap sd card that did that to my phone before.
Mine did that after I flashed just the newest radio by itself...I fixed it by flashing either Freeza's all in one or the one from xhaus that contained all the newest firmware from the newest update from the bootloader. hope this helps...i had the same problem phone would turn off while asleep in my pocket.

the new radio is garbage, revert back to the previous one and your problems are solved.
I was having the same problem. I took my evo to the sprint store and they gave me another refurb.
Hope you dont plan on using the new base or kernal because you will run into issues with an old radio. 0 problems here on newest one with current firmware.

no problem man hope it works...
could be a whole lot of different reasons. Always have to approach different issues the same way. You need to remember when the issue started. Did it happen when you updated the radio, or a rom and saved something on your sd card. if you hadn't done anything to it for a while or added anything to the sd card, a corrupt file on your sd card CAN make your phone reboot and sometimes get to the point where it won't load anything. I've also seen a battery cause the same thing. Go back to the basics, hope that helps, not a solution but just some advice....

yea my SD card made my phone do this too. i just took all files off and only put the essentials on it and it seemed to help
It's not the battery. Went through 3 until Sprint listened to me and got me a new one.
I was having the same problem. Flashed the all in one by freeza's. It has been almost 24 hr no random reboot yet. First ruled out micro SD replace with new and was still rebooting.

same annoying issue
I flashed the new radio, and immediately started having random reboots... only when in my pocket(meaning screen off and at idle) sooo pretty sure it's radio related... should i revert back to a previous radio? if so which one? thanks.

I had the same problem , any Rom I tried it would reboot . I was on hboot 1.4 and I really thought something was wrong with my phone . So I unrooted so I could take it to sprint . I updated everything and now on hboot 1.5 oh well. But my phone did not reboot at all. I did the HTC method , my phone works flawlessly now . I'm on miks 3.5 . I think my phone needed a new start lol.

This is a known problem with sense and gingerbread. My girls evo3d reboots daily even after I put her on stock everything. Just a really good reason we need ics now.
I had the same problem when I flashed the new radios...everytime phone idle for 5min it rebooted. Went back to old radios and have not rebooted in a week.

Knock the cpu speed down to stock speeds, see if that helps, take it back to the shop an get a new battery or buy a new one, do a super wipe and install a stable rom which you know is decent enough.
Should be fine.
PS: I'm running Mikrunny (mahmoud's version on post 261) the gsm version, using the kernel which comes with the rom and that's it, no probs at all.
CWM v 4, never reboots at all, highest you can go with that particular kernel is 1.51ghz

Factory reset is an option
Root, flash custom ROM
Flashing will increase battery life, and the responsiveness of your phone
Same thing happened to it kept doing it over n over T-Mobile didn't do anything they're gonna send u a battery. That's all I rooted flashed new rom n one of faux older kernels new ones not stable I'd say underclocked to 1188 n phones been running great and battery last me 10-12 hours which for anyone with an amaze knows that's alot lol

The same exact thing happened to me when my Amaze was new. It shut down on it's own almost daily, but sometimes it would take a few days until it shut itself off and I think it went as long as 4 days one time. My phone is stock. I thought about returning the phone, but never got around to it and now that I have had it for a few months it has just stopped shutting off on it's own. I don't think I changed anything, but the phone works perfectly now.
I wish I could give a definitive answer on how to stop the shut down's, but I tried various things and nothing seemed to help. Somehow it fixed itself over time.

I'm in the same boat as the OP.
Bought the Amaze brand new and it would reboot itself 2-3 a day when it was just sitting on my desk at work or home.
I rooted it and removed the T-Mobile bloatware, made no difference.
I then put Bulletproof rom on it and made no difference.
I then put Faux123 kernal on it with the Bulletproof rom...no difference.
I got a new battery and it made no difference.
Phone just reboots 2-3 times a day. It locked up overnight last night and I overslept since I use it as an alarm too.
Dunno what else to do...

Changing from Stock kernal to Faux123's didn't resolve it for me either. In the Energy Rom thread a couple people said once they flashed his rom that their reboot's went away. I just flashed it today and we'll see what happens.
I'm still on Faux123's kernal with the Energy Rom. If it reboots still, I might switch back to Stock kernal with Energy Rom to see if that makes a difference.
Phone just locked up and rebooted using Energy Rom with Faux123 kernal. Just installed Stock kernal, we'll see what happens...
Well I'm stumped and frustrated. The Amaze is a great piece of hardware but it seems to have rebooting issues just like the LG G2x did.
I have the stock kernal with Energy Rom and I've wiped it and have no apps installed. And after a couple hours it still locks up and reboots.
I'm about ready to dump the phone.
No matter what kernal/Rom I use...it just reboots after a couple hours time...
Are you using any sort of task managers or probably a certain app causing it to reboot. Do a factory/data reset and don't install anything for 24hrs and see if the problems continue. Also, you should backup the contents of you external sdcard and re-format it. And do the same with your phones internal memory card. There could be a file on there (maybe from a previous Android Device) that is not cooperating with the Amaze. Just gotta figure it out. Good Luck.

I don't know if T-Mo will see it this way, but assuming you take, or have already taken, Double0EK's advice above, I'd try to get T-Mo to replace it as hardware defective. I've had zero reboots and I ran stock for 6 weeks and the Energy ROM for nearly two.
Hello everybody,
i did unlock with HTC way, root, wipe everything + dalvik, flash MIUI latest rom with latest kernel from yoda v4.5 + fix permissions.
Everything was working fine till:
last week i left my phone battery drain completelly up to the point i could not turn it on anymore.
the phone was in state "power off" hence i could not charge it at all.
however i was still able to access adb shell, mount sdcard and use the actual linux running there (where i was surprised, was running 2.6.35 kernel version hence the yoda kernel v4.5 i flashed is 3.0.43)
i was able to execute adb commands like reboot recovery, push....all commands worked but the phone was kinda a brick because that was all you could use it for.
So i called my friends owning the same phone (htc evo 3d gsm).
there were four devices from which 3 were unlocked and rooted with s-on.
I was lucky that one of my friends is too scared to root and do any weird stuff with his "expensive" device so, one device running stock system was available.
The more surprising result was when i tried to charge my drained battery on those three rooted evo`s, none of them seemed to work.
my problem was solved when i did insert the battery into the device without root or unlocked hboot.
It worked! my battery got fully charged.
I was searching the web for 4 days, i saw a lot of people having similar problem, most of them decided to buy a new battery...no real sollution found.
Maybe i was just lucky that i have had so many devices with various system settings, but the result was clear.
rooted evo will not charge untill you dont boot the rom.
Maybe s-off can help?
my settings are as follows:
htc evo 3d gsm
unlocked with official HTC DEV way
superuser-3.0.7-efghi-signed
hboot 1.53.0007 S-ON
baseband 11.77.3504.00U_11.25.3504.06_M
kernel 3.0.43-yoda_v4.5-gddc57a6 (BIG UP FOR YODA, good job)
rom MIUI-.2.9.21.IML74K (BIG THANKS MIUI)
DEVICES USED FOR TESTING:
3 devices with root
1. same settings as mine posted above + drained battery
2. same settings as mine posted above + drained battery
3. friends device with htc unlock+root(not sure which he used but working) + stock ROM from the official HTC updates 4.0.3
and 1 device locked no root with stock ROM 4.0.3 installed from official update included in the stock ROM, so a device you get as you buy it
and that was the only one that helped me recover drained battery.
Maybe i just forgot something, if yes please slap me.
My question is: please, if any developer interrested, can you test that and maybe fix if i am not mistaken?
Hi! I'm having this problem too. I will try re-locking and see if charging works then.
Sent from my HTC EVO 3D X515m using xda app-developers app
you could use a wall charger too. maybe not to charge the battery fully but just enough so that you can boot. then charge normally.
The problem is if the battery is empty you cannot turn on the phone at all.
So the charging is not working at all. Does not matter wall charging or usb from pc. Nothing works.
Charging works only if the phone is turned on, which is impossible with empty battery or with friends locked phone, as a second option I can see only wall battery charger.
So taking the battery out from the phone and charge using specialized battery charger only
Sent from my HTC EVO 3D GSM using xda app-developers app
what i meant was use the charger that cahrges battery w/o the phone. u take the battery out and put it in the charger. not sure of the exact word used for this type of charger
Yes like i just previously wrote.
Sadly i dont have one.
From my point of view it is a bug...you should be able to charge if the phone is in power off state

Yep, 4EXT fixed the issue!! Hooray!
It seems to me that clockworkmod recoveries do not play well with the evo 3d. Even twrp sometimes has issues with evo 3d's. I guess the best bet is to stick with 4ext from here on out. Glad to hear that you fixed your problem.

This problem began to occur out of nowhere, and at first, i blamed it on the battery being dead, but I purchased a new battery, but still has the same problem.
The EVO 3D TURNS OFF as the screen turns off/goes to sleep.
It happens no matter what, different rom, flashed a new rom, different HBOOT.
I'm seriously considering just trashing the phone since this problem is just so damn frustrating.
Anyone got any tips, programs or recovery tools that might help me?

Wow, this seemed like this would work, but it didn't.
Got anything else?
IT turns off whenever the screen goes off, no matter what, it doesn't matter what rom i'm on either, kernel mayb?
I'd recommend you go back to complete stock by relocking and running the appropriate RUU. then check if the problem persists. if it still doesnt help then its probably a hardware fault
