Stable ROM for Photon GSM - Motorola Photon 4G

Hi, I am using Photon for my GSM. I have unlocked my phone and right now using MIUI ROM.
Can anyone suggest me which is the best available stable ROM for my photon with very less issues. Please help.

peetr's 2.3.5 Hybrid. It offer's the most in advantages vs stability. The current version has very few bugs and is extremely stable. It may not be "cool" but then again neither was Imperium.

1. Can we ange the status bar to be like MIUI ?
2. Do the softkey light works fine ?
3. Can i able con to sync facebook contacts and displays their photos and details in contacts with native apps without using Hexsync or something ?
Please give a reply .

ic4 roms not stable as u think
i tried 3 diffrent rom parinoid aokp and cm9 none were stable my phone wold randomly reboot when not being used , net flix dosent work issues with the kick stand mode i thought they all lacked the attension to detail since motorola makes things a lil harder soposidly

I second the choice of peetr's 2.3.5 rom. It works great and has been virtually bug free. I've tried stock, Imperium, paranoid, cm9, and cm7 also and the only one I can get data on aside from peetr's is cm7. I'm trying out simplemobile on my photon to see how t-mobiles network is.

Back to Stock
I unlocked my Photon to work with the AT&T and then decided to try some different roms. I think I want to go back to stock rom but keep unlock, how can I do that?

just nandroid restore your stock ROM. given you backed that up like you should have.
or do you possibly mean restore your radio to go back to the stock ROM / CDMA?

How is that rom going so far?
Did you used some fix or something?

peetr_'s 2.3.5 Hybrid is the best.
but for the adventurous people; cm10 alpha is getting along well with gsm network. better than cm9 alpha.

all CM9 have bugs
as i tried different CM9 ROM, all of them had major bugs, unless if you are considering camcorder not major part of the phone, even the alpha CM10 have the same bug and more.
for me i had to wait until an official release from Motorola

I think cm10 beta by jokersax with gapps v3 is better even though in the beta stage smooth and fast with small issues like white screen in camera application(but mind you jelly bean camera takes awesome photos even with the white screen) camcorder issues and themes not able to apply

I hope the GSM function will keep working on the new versions of CM10 that are going to come...

Any updates on stable roms? I just unlocked my gsm radio on att orginal2.3.4 looking for somehing good but.dont wanna brick my phone or lose my gsm inlock any ideas;please

[Q] ICS rom for UK retail ATRIX?

Hey all,
I've been having a nose about on the dev pages looking at the roms most of which have lots of feed back from ATRIX 4G users. My question is: do I have to do anything different to get one of these roms to work on my UK retail phone?
Oh and finger print reader, I didn't even realise that it was I multiple function thing I just assumed it was a quirky design choice...
Sent from my MB860 using XDA
Let me rephrase that, how will I know the rom will work over here? Is there an abbreviation / code I'm missing some where or will the roms work with all the different radios?
Sent from my MB860 using XDA
CNA, CM9 and AOKP are the main ics roms…i have an orange uk atrix and I'm using cm9 by jokersax. Don't need to do anything different to install the rom. I think the rest should work without doing anything extra.

If you have problems with the radio you can flash the radio independently to the ROM
I've taken the plunge and now have the current jokersax cm9 build.
I had a few issues with renaming the recovery file but otherwise OK.

You mean the Atrix tablet build? I love that
There's just one thing that has bugged me so far : the touch panel. Multi touch isn't exactly perfect on ICS ROMs (that includes MIUIv4).

Most stable rom?

Hi all,
My cousins atrix has started playing up (keyboard crashes, browser force closes etc) and ive advised that he change roms. Ive been looking though this forum for the past hour or so and am surprised to see so many roms - you guys have so much choice! (Ive got an optimus black and weve got maybe about 4 roms which is nothing compared to you guys!)
Anyway my cousin is a bit of a noob so I dont want to install a rom that will cause problems. Which rom should I install on his atrix please?
Thanks
The most recent releases of CM7, including CM7.2 RC1 and the most current nightly releases, have been pretty stable for me. I couldn't tell you about the non-CM7 ROMs (i.e. the ones based on the stock Atrix ROM) as I haven't used one for quite a while. There are several so-called CM9 ROMs out (based on ICS), but IMHO they aren't stable enough if you rely heavily on your phone, though they are getting there.

Im using joker's cm9. Its actually stable enough to be used as a daily driver. Yes the rom is in beta so there are bugs like video recording/playback, multitouch and small probs here and there due to missing ics drivers.

Wouldn't really consider that stable. Stable to me means everything works. Nottachtrix for stock look, and CM7 for AOSP

I agree - If your cousin doesn't need the fingerprint reader or webtop go with CM7 for now till the devs get the issues worked out on CM9.
Another vote for CM7. Its absolutely rock solid, and the weekly builds have fingerprint scanner support. CM9 is pretty good, but as has been mentioned its missing a few features and does have a few bugs that prevent some from being able to use it as a daily driver.
CM7 RC1 is where it's at now, no issues whatsoever for me.
Anyone know what is the progress of webtop on CM7 or 9?
Instead of CM7, I'd reccomend Neutrino. Install GO Launcher EX, ICS theme for the launcher and system and you've got yourself the best GB ROM with ICS-look.

Useless things such as TTS, VPN and Languages have been removed to make the ROM smaller. You just gotta flash a few more tiny .zip's...
Neutrino is better than CM7 at the base level. I reccomend you flash Neutrino GT+ version and under/overclock the CPU according to your needs.

+1 ╰☆╮Neutrino ROM V2.6╰☆╮ ....it is the best for battery and performance in my view....if you need the blur (webtop)... all three of Nottach roms are great although he supports only NottachTrix4G....
+1 for CM7.
I'd recommend you CM7 with faux kernel.

For a first time custom rom flash I'd go with Nottachtrix, very stable and Aroma Installer makes it very easy to customize to your liking.

I flash ROMs like crazy and I have to say Neutrino is by far the greatest rom! So what if you have to flash a few zips....thats how he made such an amazing rom...He stripped it down to the basics and you add the stuff that you want. I use the GT version but underclock to 1.00GHz most of the time...Saves battery but if I need the power, its available to me. 2.7 is out now....it has a wifi bug on the GT and GT+ versions though. You have to reflash faux's kernal to fix. Otherwise just use EE version. Its plenty fast enough without overclock.

STABLE Photon ROMs

To help myself and others, please respond with the names (and links) of ROMs that are stable (locked or unlocked). I'll keep an updated list in this first post.
Please state any known bugs other than 4g not working for unlocked bootloaders. The goal is to create a list of ROMs that have little to no bugs. Thanks!
MOF 2.3.5.ish {locked} Leaked Update (Retains 4G!)
Official CM7 (works great!)
2.3.5 Hybrid (Stock/CM7), Multilingual, Deblur (works great!)
Android Open Kang Project {AOKP} (Bugs: Themes not functioning properly)
Official MIUI.us
Joker's Skinny ROMs
*Most ROMs based on CM9 have some bugs and problems with using the video camera. See here for possible fixes.
Im pretty new here however I have done my fair share of flashing but I have been on the hybrid 2.3.5 by peetr and its faster than stock ir any ics rom but as with everything this setup works the best for my needs and as always ymmv

Great idea. I was looking for a rom but am lacking the time to research each and every thread and its posts to root out the good and bad of each. I was going to post and ask myself about a decent working rom with the most working functions and with little bugs. Hopefully those with time will give feedback and include ALL the info you requested in your OP for those of us lacking the free time.
There are so many now. I know some say "go search", but not all of us have the time to weed through all details in each post. Thanks again.

Hell, I have 4G where I live and I still unlocked. Wimax is worthless with the 2500mhz spectrum. It only works outside in the middle of the street when you're not moving.
I see little mention of them here, but the ICS builds that spleef,; Th3Bill, and Teqm Moto Tegra have put together based on Joker's CM9 are pretty nice, too. I'm running CNA right now and other than two items which do have work arounds (camera needs 3rd party app and browser is set to landscape only), they are very smooth and stable. I'm lovin me some ICS!!

I'm running spleef's AOKP build 36 and overall, everything works great! Very usable with only a few annoyances that I am sure will be fixed in time.
I need a ROM with a stable navigation app because I travel for work a lot. So far only the stock ROM works well enough for daily use. CM7, AOKP, and CM9 all exhibit strange behavior like spontaneous rebooting or switching back to Car Home repeatedly despite the navigation continuing to call turns.
CM9 and AOKP also don't seem to work with my car dock well, I can't get any sound to go through the AUX port. I also noticed that when I drove around SoCal for a while with any of the CM ROMs, the screen will blank when the phone got hot. I restored a stock rom and had no problems in the same situations. CM7 doesn't have any problems playing music through the dock but the unstable nav bums me out.

i didnt know CM10 had data issues, i used it last thursday before switching back to Viper. SuperLTE has a "bareback" that is desensed, also viper 4g gives you the option to desense the rom. I belive there is also a script that will do it for you. the ROM cleanup utility.
I haven't had any issues with data but those who have just flash sense and reprovision their phones and flash back

Stable GSM DNA 4.2.x ROM(s)?

Hi all -
I'm on GSM and I've been trying several ROMs and am dissatisfied so far with stability - it seems it's either an important feature is buggy or I get constant reboots/FC/stalls when I'm using the phone as a daily and when I most need it. Specifically re: features the BT headset audio is semi-important - if the ROM is solid throughout I can disregard this but I would love to have this feature.
Any ROMs anyone can recommend to me? I'm almost ready to chuck things and go back to full stock.
If there isn't a 4.2.x ROM that's stable I'm up for a recommendation of a ROM below 4.2 and is also above stock that is solid and stable (again I'm close here to just chucking it all and going back to stock).
Have you tried carbon? It was very stable back when I used it. Also slimbean is known for being a very fast light rom
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
Carbon and Rootbox are the most stable I've tried. Slimbean should be smooth and responsive, but I haven't tried it yet. I am a CDMA user, but they should work on GSM using the GSM patch in the CM10.1 thread.
Note: BT audio and FFC are broken on all aosp ROMs. On some Snapchat and Instagram video playback are broken.
