[Q] ICS stock Bookmarks Widget ? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello!
I have to say that i prefer the original Bookmarks Widget in ICS that the "S Bookmark widget" include in Galaxy S3.
Samsung replace the original widget by his own.
So i wonder if it's possible to find the original ICS widget and install it on S3.
(I search it on the Xperia S of a friend, and don't find anything)
What do you think?

+1000 - have searched all over and no one seems to have the answer - have been tearing other roms apart trying to get what I need

I hope this would be possible... I don't like the S bookmark widget
Edit: Ok I found a solution: replace Samsung browser by stock ICS browser

Works like a charm

[Q] Stock Tab Widgets in ICS Roms

I have searched this and other similar sites and can't find an answer to this question. Task650 put downloads to the digital clock widget, e-mail widget and other system widgets in his Galaxy Task custom rom. My question is has anyone ported any of the same widgets to work on the CM9 ICS Roms yet? I like the roms but miss the clock and weather widgets. If it has been done and someone knows where they are located I would appreciate it...
And for the inevitable comments...YES I have searched on this site and other Tab modding forums.
Thanks in advance.

[Q] Is there a way to run ICS Vanilla Email and Launcher

Hello
I'm a big fan of Samsungs Hardware but never liked touchwiz. The hings that annoy me most are the launcher and the Email(Exchange) App.
Is there a way to use the Vanilla ICS pendants without switching completely to cyanogen (when it once will be available)? I would like too keep the few nice add ons by Samsung.
Thx for hints
You could try an alternative ICS launcher such as Nova https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teslacoilsw.launcher&hl=en. Hope that helps some.
An alternative launcher will definitely get you away from much of the touchwiz experience but you will still be stuck with Samsung's email, calendar, etc apps. Take a look in the SGS3 Themes and Apps section. I believe someone there has created a flashable zip to replace the Samsung stock apps with the ICS ones.
Thanks both of you. Nova does the trick for now.
I also flashed the ICS Email but it did not want to work. Guess I'll wait for CM then.
cheers

Galaxy s3 weather widget in Apex launcher

Guys could u help me out here...I want to add the official galaxy s3 weather widget into apex launcher. Is it not possible as the widget menu does not have the touchwiz widgets! Is there a workaround?
Can't.
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy SII
stock weather widget it touchwiz bound , so cannot be used outside unless it is ported.

Click to collapse
What would have to be done to "port" it? I know that's a really large open ended question, but should I figure out what apk it is and then start poking around in there to pull resources etc. out? I've seen that someone already has made a port for the ace so it shouldn't be too difficult .

[Q] SPlanner in MIUI... Possible?

SPlanner is by far the best calendar widget available for Android. Nothing comes close to its clean, dense and easy to read widget.
I am a dedicated MIUI user. Unfortunately, SPlanner is integrated with Samsung's TouchWiz.
Would it be possible for a MIUI ROM based on a stock I9300 firmware to provide SPlanner? Better yet, could SPlanner and it's dependencies be pulled out of a stock formware and packaged as a stand alone app/widget? Could any developers give me some pointers as to how to go about doing this if it's even possible?
Thanks in advance,
- Naz.
hi there,
it's not possible cause the s planner is part of the touchwiz, and needs that in order to work...
You can easily port SPlanner only if app doesn't use framework code

S2 stock widgets

Hi,
I have been considering a custom rom on my galaxy S2, and have been trying apex launcher. However one problem i have been finding is that some of the samsung the stock widgets (s planner in particular) won't show on anything other than touchwiz. Is there a way to get them to shop on other launchers? I quite like the s planner widget, and many of the stock apps and would like to keep them but go for a better launcher.
Thanks
Wolf.
Theam and apps mate is were them things are and Icon changer of playstore free will help too. I got xperia z icons on mine. Just look on t and a thread loads there to pick from.
