Other than running it in a emulator (qemu) its highly unlikely

I think it can cuz it has Quad Core

Sure but windows is a closed source OS,so unless you can make drivers for ever peace of hardware in the device you have no chance.
Plus the only version that will run on ARM processors is Windows 8 RT which requires a special locked boot loader.
Short answer not possible
Long answer...would take alot of people alot of hacking to even have a chance of something even then likely not to happen.
However you could install Linux very easily!

Yeah, I already aware of that
But in the field of Hacking its a great challenge to developers.
So, there is a good chance we will see Win8 in N7 >
time will tell, won't you agree?

Sure but I still really highly doubt it seeing how locked down Microsoft plans to make Windows 8 RT
Personally I would rather see a complete working native boot of Ubuntu first.
But stranger things have happened so we shall have to wait and see

I like Ubuntu
I hope someday someone will port Ubuntu in Xperia Neo.
BTW, I faced some problem when I installed Ubuntu in my pc but I like the UI

Windows on nexus

He's right. Windows doesn't work on ARM so right off the bat the project would be dead.

Yes, I know but there is still chance
Time will tell Dude

Why make a thread asking if something can be done, then not listen to the reason it (most likely) can't?

They ported Ubuntu to any loop device. Just search on youtube. I have done it with my kindle. why would you want windows..its just not cool

Why do I want Windows! do you need to ask mate :O
there are a lot of thing windows can which other can't and windows is a part of life

One question - for what??
I think it is easier to wait some time and by a tablet on Windows 8, if you want this OS.

I believe cotulla is working on it. although there is no ETA & he is busy working on android too, so it may take a lot of time. you can see wp7 booting on hd2 here
but remember, getting it to boot is totally different from getting it to work.
Thread moved to Q&A.
Who knows, windows mobile 7 may not be the next big thing. They have certainly raised the expectations so high, hard to see these fulfilled. Lets keep the fingers crossed and wait for the xda team to weave their magic

hmm.... after some great android devices and the preview of windows mobile 7
the future of wp7 lies in danger...
after watching the preview of how the wp7 is going to be like ... i m really not impressed with the look of it... just the tiles on the home screen ... nothing great..
--------------------MAY GOD GIVE PEACE TO ALL-------------------------------
I would like to see what wp7 can actually do first.

Same here. I think it's gonna be awesome, but maybe that's just because of all the hype...
I think, that's it only a step after apple and Android.
Windows only wants a piece of cake too. But my opinion is that android is the best and will be the best in future.. ;-)

Can our pro install WP7 ROM?

Can somebody port wp7 ROM to our pro?
Thanks for answer.
I don't think so, our phone doesn't meet the microsoft power requirement for WP7
Why would anyone want such a virus inside our phones?
Sent from my U20i using xda premium
because it shows that our pro can do so much amazing things!!!

Why so negative. WP might not be to everyones taste, but some people just like to see what it's like and experiment.
If there was to be a WP ported for our devices, i would give it a try as i've not owned a windows phone yet.
Hey sorry but this post should be Q&A section and not in the development.. So next time make sure u dont post here..
Sonystyle v10 by B-Paul ..
where are the Mods when we need them.... Mods pls move this to Q&A section...thanks
the mini pro couldnt have WP7 on it as its said before because of its performance requirements and also because i imagine WP7 was never designed originally for a device as small as ours so it would possibly be too much work to be even worth it, thats even if the kernels etc would be able to support the firmware
would be nice to experiment with though as i also have a HTC WP7 that i use for work and im always tempted to mess with it but dont want to get fired lol

Virus? What aspect of WP7 is a "virus"? Or are you just labeling it a "Virus" out of an irrational hatred towards Microsoft.
WP7 is a good mobile OS and way better than previous Windows Mobile versions.

Thats just not gonna happen, as suggested, you can get a launcher to give it the look and feel, but forget anything else, we have barely just got gingerbread, and i don't see much more development after that.
Not so quick now....DJ_Steve just said today that he is waiting for the ICS source to be released to begin work on it for our beloved Streaks....

Maybe I'm lost, but please explain how this will help in trying to get a windows phone operating system on an Android phone..
Sent from my Dell Streak using Tapatalk
It was in response to your comment about barely getting Gingerbread. Regarding Win Mobile 7.x, there is no way to put it on the Streak as far as I know. Win Mobile 7 is as evil as iOS, in that Microsoft tells you what you want and you will like it.
Microsoft took an approach in between Apple and Google, their operating system is still closed source, but manufacturers can license it. They control the hardware it is on, like iOS, but they allow it on any phone that runs that hardware. We don't have the source, though, so it would be really hard (and I would imagine not worth it based on the response so far) to port it over to our hardware.

[Q] Might be a stupid question. But...

Is it possible to port over Windows OS and WebOS to android? Would be quite lovely.
Please atleast give me negative feedback. Lol

It is possible, but highly illegal. Windows is not open source, so pretty much anything you do to 'hack' it on to a device it was not intended for is a violation of the license that covers Windows.
Does that stop us?

What exactly do you mean "to android"? Do you mean to an Android device? WebOS ports have already begun

Okay, thanks, guys. How can I get anyone to port a WebOS rom to my device? xD
Crespo4g
Firstly, webOS is closed source, and won't get ported. OpenWebOS, however, is being worked on (should be close enough, no?). Having said that, there have currently been no successful ports of OWOS... yet.
If you need to have it done for your device, and you need to have it now, then offer loads of money, and the freelance developers with come (virtually) running. I'm sure that would be a most welcome gesture.
