Just got the notification, downloading now.
If no notification this morning...
Finally now is the time to manually press System Updates in Settings/About Phone. I did not have notification of the update, but given the latest rumor that ICS would be available via the System Updates starting today (the end of Q2), I finally tried that route. Rather than being told that my system was up to date with GB, to my astonishment, I was notified that the update was available for download. I almost fell off my chair. Downloading now.
Me too! Problem is we had severe storms yesterday so my power is out could be for days, no internet or WiFi and if I'm lucky I get 1x on my phone so it will be hours before I know if it takes! Must be a moto plot against me

hi all. i plugged my phone into my computer to transfer music. and i forgot motocast loads up when the phone is connected.
and it offered me an update to my razr.
i am running 651.197.19.XT910.en.EU and it offered me 651.197.21.XT910.en.EU.
i checked the change log and it says its only for german networks.
what should i do? just being curious
I've got it too. Those release notes are actually for 167.19, Germany is the only EN.eu market in which 2.3.6 has been released thus far. Installing now, will try and grab the zip.
It's a small update, just 15MB.
Any noticeable changes? I doubt it if its a whole 15mb.
Although when I ota its not there. Any reason?
Or is it due to location somehow?

Haven't noticed any changes thus far, assume it's just a minor maintenance update. Doubt it's a regional thing (especially given my location), just seems to have been pushed out via desktop rather than OTA.
Will give it a proper day's use tomorrow and see how it goes.

Moto Cast offered me thus update too here in France, so I installed it and it works fine, i don't notice any difference for the moment, we'll see. But considering the minor change in number: from .19 to .21, i think it's a really minor update.
pfff.... I got nothing as usually.... :-/
I had an issue with mobile data not appearing. But it seems to have cured itself. So far with 10 hours up time and medium usage I have 80% left. And I have been in a signal dead zone a bit too. So not bad. Maybe having a new update has given a "placebo" effect.
Next up ics ....please motorola. Lol

Just got it, notification that my phone will get ICS in the next week and all the global roaming features, etc.
This was on the phone as a notification. Anyone else?
Yeah I just got it too. But mine said I would be updating to Article Snow Cone version 9.00.4. Supposedly With this update I won't even need a smartphone, everything will come through a chip Motorola secretly implanted in my brain while I was on the phone. Cool... Lol

We all HAVE the update already...it's only visible if you're looking from exactly the right angle, like the entrance to Hogwarts. But ya gotta believe that it's there.

To many of the same threads . Will lock.
Cheers
Since the 4.0 OTA my phone has just been doing random crap.
1.) Locking up and rebooting at least once a day.
2.) In the middle of a phone call it will disconnect the call with whomever i was talking to, and connect me with a random person from my address book.
3.) one of the verizon junk apps (Emergency Alerts i think it is) will go off on its own, and i have never used it or set it up..
so i take it in and Im not sure if i am the only person who has been having these problems (from what the verizon rep noted, i was not the only one). they are sending me a new one , they said that the OTA made a mess on some phones, bricked others and the ones that are from the factory or newer ones are working much better.
now for the part that surprised me..take this with a grain of salt as usuall but she said that the 4.1 Jelly bean was going to be ota in about another month..
anyways, anyone else had the listed problems?
ps central us for those that are going to ask, no longer vat/city
If I do a lot of browsing, my phone will randomly scroll through random apps and open them, almost like the screen is stuck. Only way to stop is power volume down. Then it is good for a day or two, then it does it again. I am completely stock, never rooted or installed custom rom.

I got my phone yesterday, and so far not a single problem and there is a difference from a phone that received the ota and one that was shipped with 4.0. one that has been shipped with it is defiantly smoother has a quicker response. im happy i sent mine in.
Do a factory reset and you will have no more problems.

I'll second this: the sound on my Razr cut out at times. I did a factory reset last week, and have had no problems since then.
Sent from my DROID RAZR using xda app-developers app
I have done two resets since I received the update. Didn't install any apps for a few days in case that was the culprit. Still have the issue.

I can vouch for what cmraymond is saying, i tried repeatedly using the factory reset and nothing it would still do it. i even deleted everything i had on my sd card and even tried a diff one. no change. new phone is running great.

So how does returning the phone work if I bought it on new egg.com. Do I go through them or can I call Verizon to do a warranty exchange. I've had the phone since March this year.

If it's under factory warranty, Verizon will send you a refurb. My previous phone was a Incredible 2 that I purchased at Radio Shack, and when my LCD stopped working after about 5 months, Verizon sent me a replacement at no cost.
As a last ditch effort, you can try flashing the stock fastboot files. I'd recommend a factory reset and format of the cache partition before doing so. That way, if there was something that didn't update properly with the OTA, you're starting off with a fresh, clean install. Instructions to flash are here http://theunlockr.com/2012/01/24/how-to-restore-the-motorola-droid-razr-using-fastboot-files/, and the fastboot files are found here: http://sbf.droid-developers.org/cdma_spyder/list.php
I've been thinking about updating manually to JB because I want to experience project butter and the other things that cone with it. My question is, is it worth it to side load it before the ota is released again? Does anyone know if we'll be able to get the new jb update if its different?
I use my Bluetooth, wifi, and gps a lot so I'll need them to be reliable as they are now. I don't need root at this time and I am not currently rooted.
Any thoughts? Is it faster and smoother?
Sent from my DROID RAZR using xda app-developers app
I loaded 4.1.2 manually on Dec 25. It's made my RAZR much faster and smoother. I've used Google Now quite a bit. If this is not the final version of 4.1.2, we will not be able to install the official OTA unless Motorola provides a patch.
Sent from my DROID RAZR using xda app-developers app
But I thought this was the same build that some users got from Motorola ota. They won't be able to get the final build either? Surely they'd release a build that would also work for them too?
Sent from my DROID RAZR using xda app-developers app
It was an OTA, but released by Moto in error. It may not be the final build of Jelly Bean.
Sent from my DROID RAZR using xda app-developers app
My question is though, and nobody may know this, but if they is a problem with the builds from December, will the next update install on the ones who got it early?
Sent from my DROID RAZR using xda app-developers app
The official OTA will install only over the 211 build of ICS. That is why a patch would be needed for those on a non-final build of JB.
Sent from my DROID RAZR using xda app-developers app
Ok. Well with that being said, i probably should just wait for the official final build then.
Sent from my DROID RAZR using xda app-developers app
That's a good plan, since the OTA will be out this quarter.
Sent from my DROID RAZR using xda app-developers app
As for myself, I've got 7 months left on contract. By upgrading via side loading last month, I've preserved possibly half of phone's remaining life (in my possession) for a MUCH improved operating system. If there's any defect in the leaked Jelly Bean, I haven't found it yet. My recommendation is to go for it.

Right now I've frozen the updater file using Titanium Backup. I received the OTA on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 yesterday and all I can say at this point is I don't like it at all! My Dolphin Browser crashed on me and I cannot stand the new Google search. If there was a way to undo the update on my tablet, I would do so in a heart beat!

I'm the opposite. There's no way I'll ever go back to ICS. I love JB. FWIW, I have 3 devices running either 4.1 or 4.2, and Dolphin works fine on all of them.
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using xda premium
JB's UI animations and transitions among applications are noticeably smoother most of the time. Although others might find it useful, Google Now seems a bit gimmicky to me, although not as annoying as Siri. Unless you root, you will find that using your phone as a free WiFi hot spot is, for now, lost, until utilities like FoxFi catch up to JB. Not much else is new. That said, I would install JB again (rooted). It's not a huge improvement, but it is an improvement.

Is the update by location as its not here in Buckinghamshire.
It's here too in south London

If people have still not received the 4.2.2 OTA update, try disabling (location services) I've never turned mine on at all. I'm no expert but give it a try. Mine showed up last night at exactly 8.30 pm GMT.

It's not based on location. People have been reporting the upgrade here on the west coast U. S. Since the 11th. My son just got it on the 13th for his n10, my n10 still has nothing as does his n4 and the wife's n7. Who knows the order of the rollout.....???? Seems like they really have it throttled back.... 3 days in the same area and some have it and others don't.

As other have said, I don't think its location based.
If it was, I'm in Bucks and got mine last night.
I did reset the Google Framework stuff a couple times though.

Will give it some more time , already manually installed it on mine cant be bothered doing it on the missus's though in case i bork it.
No more sudden-restarting? No more crashs? No more passive-notification-led? :/

Well, the Notification-led it's fine now... o/
Anyone in the UK who isn't getting the update:
Go to settings>apps>all>Google Services Framework>clear data>force stop then check for an update. It should say last checked 1970.
Repeat until the update appears. It will appear eventually using this method.
I just cleared data and rebooted straight away.. Update came through!
