I have the yellow tint problem so I dont care anymore about the warranty,, I saw some one selling the lcd on ebay, thats why I am asking how to fix it by myself
The yellow tint is covered by the warranty, might take a couple of weeks but you get to keep your warranty.

In most cases lcds are glued to the glass... Ive replaced both lcds and the touch glass in phones and the two parts can be prized apart quite easily there's enough glue left over to stick the new parts together too

Thank you for your replays,,
so, I want to understand something here, if the cause of this is the glue between the glass and the lcd not the lcd itself, the glue can it be cleaned?
what I found is this item in the link from ebay which is the lcd
http://www.ebay.com/itm/LCD-Touch-Digitizer-Screen-Display-Glass-Assembly-For-Sony-Xperia-S-LT26i-LT26-/251090381866?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a76272c2a
it is coming as one part I think the glass and the lcd right??
"Why So Serious?" it looks like you have an experience with this stuff what do you advice me to do or change??
for those who talk about warranty as I told you I don't have warranty so I don't care about it

Hello,
this might sound strange but, do you think it is possible for me to get my phone´s screen replace under warranty even though my screen is broken, but luckily I own one of those xperia which has yellow spots on the display when the phone gets warm.. I read the other day article about it, that sony replaces those screens under warranty.

hi
I have some scratchs on my screen and I am looking for a replacement digtizer.
I found several on ebay,
http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=xp...+screen&_osacat=0&_trksid=p3286.c0.m270.l1313
Have anyone replaced the digitizer or know if this are original?
Thanks!
Did you remove the factory screen protector for some reason and not replace it? Or did your phone not come with a factory screen protector?

Hi, I recently changed my digitizer. Put on a black one on my white phone. They are all real, I have not seen any fakes around. I also bought mine off of ebay.
--duplicate--
I wish one of these ebay listings gave a part number or model number for the digitizer... for obvious reasons.

Is this digitizer is the same part i need to change when my screen gets cracked ?
The story is my phone fell down and the screen got cracked and kinda ink appeared around the line of crack..
I was really wandering which part to change since the touch was working fine..

Hey Mezo,
The digitizer is factory glued with the top glass and is considered one piece since you can't separate the two. The LCD is separate from the digitizer. If your LCD is cracked, then your display will be distorted with lines across the screen. If your top glass is cracked, then your digitizer will still work since the digitizer is not as fragile as the top glass. So the question is, is the top glass cracked? Is the LCD display cracked as well? I know your digitizer will still be functioning but you might want to consider buying a new one as for the cracks may be unappealing and annoying.
I simply broke the top glass and I did not like the crack spanning across my screen so I got myself a new one.
If your LCD is damaged then you need to buy a new LCD which is not cheap... (over $100).
@trojjanhorse
the top layer which i touch is functional, so that means i have broken the LCD ?
i appreciate if you have a look on them i attached some pic, i hope they are clear enough since i took them with 3mp cam
thanks for the help in advance, i don't know much about mobile displays

Most likely you have broken the LCD. When dark pixels appear like that, it usually means that you've directly struck the LCD itself and damaged that area.
It was a thin line at first then some Ink started to flow and became bigger the next day.
So its the LCD?
should I fix it at the service center or i can replace it myself?
sent from my x10i that is banging for a 2.1 upgrade. ...
You can, in theory, fix it yourself but it'll be a biatch of a job. Use the X10 undressing post to find out how to actually take it to bits...
Then put the new LCD in.
only issue is finding somewhere that sells them... I don't know if they're a generic 854x480 lcd or what so...
To change LCD is very simple, but to change the digitizer is suicide. You will need to get a new LCD. I would buy one off of ebay and install it myself. I've been fixing phones for 2 years now so I had my share of experience but it may be difficult for you. The black liquid is due to the fact that LCD stands for "Liquid" Crystal Display
Good luck.
Hello,
Anyone has an ideea where is the water damage indicator on Xperia S and if there are more than one??? I bought the phone 2 months ago and 3 weeks back tried to change the screen foil and i think i put a little bit too much of the liquid i was provided with that screen protector because the screen started to catch a gray tint and in 2 days only a few bright pixels left on the bottom of the screen. The rest of the display looks like it has a dark foil on it. I sent the phone for repair but the answer was it has water damage and we can give you 10% off to buy a new one. So where is/are that water damage sticker and is there a way to make them white again so i can send it again to repair??? Thank you!!!
isn't this illegal?
Why should it be ilegal?

just wondering if the Sony logo will come off with taking that thing off. Anyone experienced how scratch resistent the "real" glass of our Tablet is?
On my Xperia Arc S I took it off in the first month of use...got it almost 2 Years now and only 2 noticeable scratches.

After much hesitation, I finally got around to remove the pre installed film last night.
It is not easy to remove , but it is worth it. You get better touch sensitivity and clearer picture; and it feel so much better to touch actual glass than plastic!
Use a blade or a sharp object near the corners to lift the film up carefully without scratching anything else.Fingernails didn't do the job for me!
After you have lifted a good amount of the film, you can pull the rest by hand; but it doesn't come off easily and will leave some residue behind. Use a clean cloth to remove the residue. Voila!

Nope. I think that happens only to certain models of the Xperia Z phone.
Though I personally would have been happy if it did come off; don't care too much for the branding and would have liked a plain black front
Will the screen scratch easier without the film, or is it som sort of gorilla glass under the film?

I don't remember exactly the spec, but I am pretty sure it is scratch resistant glass but not the 'gorilla' brand.
I hate screen protectors and am okay with a few minor scratches as long as the don't interfere with the screen when its on.
Worst case, I got Sony Care if the screen gets really damaged and hopefully can get it replaced.
I expect the anti shatter film to be similar to the one in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4GzYnDnZDRg
I'm keeping it on the tablet, at least for now.

Sir, you mentioned that you have already removed pre applied screen protector on your Xperia Arc S, so I was wondering is that this layer about half of millimeter smaller than the whole screen?
please answer as soon as possible.
Thanks!

It's the layer which stands out a bit if you look from the side or feel it with your fingernail. I recommend something like a thumbtack or something else sharp to remove it but watch out not to damage your screen! The screen may be sticky after removing it. Just wash it with a wet cloth some times and after 1 or 2 days of usage it will be gone.
Hey guyz ,... i'm in serious trouble ...

That depends. Do you have insurance? Shattered/cracked display isn't usually covered by the warranty since it's a user error and not a manufacturing error. It's a different story if it was cracked out of the box, but they won't fix it for free if you dropped it yourself.

You'll find u will have to replace both the digitizer and the lcd as they are bonded together very closely due to sony wanting to decrease the space between them both.
And because of the screen size and tech you won't find one cheaper than £125 which is decent quality...

The crappy thing about these new LCD/screen from Sony is that they fused it really well and they said it's pretty much impossible to separate the front glass and the LCD unlike Samsung phones. I spoke with Sony repair center about my xperia Z having the same issue as yours and describe to them the problem. The tech said, it seems that i just need the front glass digitizer replaced. So judging from what he said, it is possible to separate the front glass digitizer from the LCD. The problem now is how??? I see in ebay and in aliexpress sellers are selling just the front glass digitizer. I wish someone could really show how to do it. I am in the process of experimenting it. I will try to separate the two together to see if it will work, if it doesn't I will order the LCD assembly along with the digitizer from ali express for like $125 .
You need heat gun and Copper thin rope and patience, the final product does not have the look of factory

I read on xperiablog.net that on XZU, XZ1 and XZ seem to have all a similar problem, where the glass breaks itself for no reason at all.
It seems that Sony will fix the screen under warranty if there are no signs of the phone ever fell.
If otherwise the broken glass is the result of a dive on the cement, then bye bye warranty...

When I removed the glass screen assembly the lcd did seperate from the front glass/ digitizer but not the way it was suppose to causing the lcd to get damaged. The lcd part is actually a flexable sheet on top of the backlight sheet. The part that breaks is the electrical flex wires at the top that's glued to the front glass. You might be able to get them apart but most likely it will break in the process.
Hello
Can we make the change only touch glass, when the LCD screen is intact? in an authorized repair center Sony.
I read on the forum prices ranging up to $ 350, but with the LCD screen!
I know it is not possible or very difficult to even the fair itself, but in a Sony repair center, you do not? why pay $ 350 for a screen Lcd? He did not need to be changed! especially if a touchscreen is costs only $ 50.
My question centers authorized Sony repair can only change the touchscreen (no lcd)? : Confus:
Merci.

I believe the LCD panel and the glass are fused together; also called "zero gap display", so it's basically impossible to only change the glass. You can tell that it's zero gap by holding your finger straight down on the glass. Notice that there's no gap or air between the pixels and your finger (it looks like you're touching the LCD, and not glass).
Much harder to fix than you think
It's damn-near impossible to get the screen off without cracking it way more.
You need to remove the back as well as the front to disconnect cables.
The back is made of glass (I didn't realize - thought it was plastic - oops) - and also will crack really easily if you try to pull it off.
You can get cheaper screens by googling for them - eBay is the most expensive.
Might be better to just buy a brand new phone - after parts, labor, and postage, it's about the same price as a new one...
Does anyone know how to replace the digitizer only?
I checked youtube how to replace the lcd + digitizer front panel set but I cant find anything on just removing the digitizer from the lcd.
I checked aliexpress and found
"Touch Screen Glass lens Digitizer Panel Replacement For Sony Togari Xperia Z Ultra C6802 XL39h Original free shipping"
for $90.
Do I need the
"5X Digitizer Touch Panel Adhesive Sticker Rubberized For Sony Ericsson Xperia Z Ultra XL39H C6802,Togari,Xperia L4,Xperia ZU"
on aliexpress to make the digitizer stick to the lcd?
Or should I just fork out $150 for the lcd and digitizer set for an easier way?
But I would prefer just doing the digitizer way cause its more cheaper.
Any input would be great guys. Thank you.
AFAIK is almost impossible to remove it as they were bonded with good adhesive....
Some professional equipment are available to remove them but it cost quite a bit to do so...
Even if you managed to pull it off. You cannot water proof it anymore.

Good luck and pls do update us...
I fixed it already. BUT! I dont know if the digitizer is defective or I messed up the connections when I took the old one off and the new one on or maybe it some how bent or the gule is somehow uneven and it is making the touches off point.
i.e.
I turn on show visable pointer upon touch in developer options.
When I touch the top right it clicks on the bottom left. vice versa.
When I drag down it drags right. vice versa.
Or maybe I need to calibrate the touch screen? I actually trying to search it now how to do it.
Any suggestions guy on any of this?
Please help.
How did you do it? only heat gun?
My Z cracked long time ago..and now my xperia L too So I guess I could try to repair my xperia Z, but I don't want to pay for a whole LCD.
Only heat gun and wire worked?
Besides can you remove the digitizer and LCD and then remove the digitizer? Or it has to be when still glued/connected to the phone?
