Hi,
I notice my Xperia is getting kind of laggy, what sort of solution would be able to help with this? I've heard you could do a hard reset to also fix this and re-calibrate the battery?
Press power + volume up button and hold till you feel three haptic (vibration) feedbacks.

Ok here's the thing. My phone suddenly stars acting really weird after a year of problem free use. the volume rocker started to go bonkers, almost like the downward rocker is always on. rebooting is really difficult as flashing mode turns on. The only way to turn it on is to hold the home button at the same time as the power button to turn it on.
once inside the os, the volume rocker is permanently downwards, so ringer is always at vibrate, and working with the phone is impossible.
i tried restarting quite a few times, restored original firmware and installed latest energy gtx rom, all to no avail.
i think there is a problem with the circuitry or something which might be causing this. any thoughts on how to fix this? I have had this since last november with a contract on tmobile UK. any ideas about where to get this fixed should this be a hardware problem?
thanks in advance
Yeah looks like a hardware problem with the rocker seemingly pressing the downward button all the time 24/7.
See if you can play around with it to loosen the rocker button.
Otherwise it's an open the unit to fix it which will void warranties, etc.
thanks for the reply. i'll take this to tmobile. lets hope they solve the problem.
I didn't realize that you had to be holding the power button AND home button down, with screen off, to reboot.
Feel free to close/delete/etc. this thread...

I have a quick question -- the touchscreen on my touchpad (Alpha 3) became unresponsive and does not become so after re-locking and unlocking the screen. The tablet itself is responsive (still updating time, can use hard buttons to change volume, see recent apps, and bring up the reboot/etc. options), but to my knowledge there is no way to force a shutdown using the hard buttons. Am I correct in this?
The battery is at 34%, so it shouldn't take too long to kill it if I keep the screen on a lot....
Thanks!
Thanks, that worked for me!
Hi,
Just swapped my note to a Lumia. Running 12070.
I got this issue that the screen don't turn itself off when i leave the phone alone.
The time is set to one minute but nothing happens after that. If i reboot the phone it will work a couple of times as usual, but then after a bit it is the same again.
I have done several factory resets withot any luck. Btw there is something really strange with the factory reset. When i start the phone up after the reset it remembers my Nokia account name? How could that be so? It's like the reset isn't quite resetting everything.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
EDIT:
*facepalm to myself* found the error...
The camera button was half pressed down by the softcover. Now the screen functions normally
But the mystery with remembering my Nokia account after factory reset is still a big ???
soft reset with hardware button, or hard reset with phone menu?
if you really want to hard reset it, try this, hardware method:
presse volume down+power+camera 5 sec together, wait the vibration.
then stop pressing only power button but keep pressure on volume - and camera, wait reboot

Click to collapse
Actually i have tried both methods with the same result.
Very wierd.
Help!
The power button on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (PT-7510 WIFI) is stuck in the depressed position. I must have pressed it to many times or pressed it too hard, whatever caused it I'm not sure. It still works if I press it hard enough but I don't expect it to function for very long and I'd like to fix it before it ceases functioning entirely.
Does anybody have any suggestions for how to repair this?
Has anyone ever had this problem?
You could try remapping the power button to a volume button. While the device is booted you can then use the volume button as power button. When the tablet is turned off you would still need the real power button though.
Hello everyone,
Sometimes when i press the power button, it feels weird.
When pressing it it doesn't make the clicking sound like the volume rockers do, and it feels like there is no resistance.
Sometimes though, it does work normal.
Has anyone else experienced this?
