Device Encryption disabled by Archos? - Gen8, Gen9, Gen10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I've got a Archos 101 G9 (ICS 4, rooted) and I can't find the full system encryption option in the settings / security menu.
Does anyone know why the device encryption has been removed or disabled by Archos? Is there any way to use it?
I've also tried [email protected], but it's not only disabled in the stock rom...
Many thanks!

AFAIK encryption is not present in all Gen9 ICS firmwares (can't say if ICS doesn't support it or if Archos didn't include it)

hmm... does anyone know whether the encryption can be activated in an other way? or is there a better way to encrypt a tablet?

[Q] Tabtronics Quantum7+ missing Encryption options

Hi all,
I recently purchased a Quantum7+ tablet (my first!) and wanted to try out encryption, but am unable to find the Personal ->
Security -> Encryption option mentioned in guides on the internet. The
Security settings page has only "Screen Security", "Passwords", "Device
Administration" and "Credential Storage" headings.
I've made Screen Lock password-protected and the device is plugged into the
mains and fully charged. I've rebooted since adding the Screen Lock password but to no avail. Any idea what might be wrong?
The Android version is 4.1.1. and am using the stock firmware version:
([email protected])_([email protected])_N2.59_V411.01_TL12
Does anyone have any idea why this could be, or whether the "Encryption" settings might be hidden away elsewhere?
Many thanks!
Hmmm ... just got a reply from Tabtronics tech support confirming that Encryption is not available on this tablet, which is a bit confusing to me - isn't encryption all done in software on Android?

[Q] Tablet S Device Encryption

Hi
Does anybody know how to device encrypt the Sony Tablet S. To be able to use this tablet for work purposes the tablet needs to have device encryption but with Sony stripping this out I can't seem to find any apps that will do this now.
Thanks

[Q] Android 5.0 Lollipop - How to Enable "Unknown Sources" for Secondary Users?

[Q] Android 5.0 Lollipop - How to Enable "Unknown Sources" for Secondary Users?
Hi,
I flashed my Nexus 5 with the 5.0 image (LRX21O) after completely wiping the phone. Now I set up a secondary account to try and separate* the work environment from the personal part of the phone by installing the MobileIron related apps ("[email protected]", Document Viewer etc.) ---- which requires the option "Unknown sources" to be checked.
Unfortunately this option is disabled and grayed out (see screenshot), although it is available and enabled on the primary user account. An older forum thread (related to 4.4.2.) on another forum suggests there might be an option ("Application and Content restrictions") to control this -- only I can't find it in Lollipop.
Do you happen to know if (and if so, how) the "Unknown sources" setting can be controlled for secondary accounts?
Thanks a lot!
The screenshot is M2e2VCx.png on imgur, I can't link it (nor the other forum thread mentioned above).
* I'm aware of the limitations of this approach (especially security- and usability-wise). However, it's something I wanted to try and see how it works out while working with it.
Same problem here on my Nexus 7 2013 (LRX21P).
have no idea why Google did that
Same problem here on my Nexus 10. With this, it's the most annoying update I've ever made on Android because I can't restore my backups, they are all .apk! :crying:
Since this didn't get much love here i crossposted it to the Nexus 5 forum as well.

(Sorry, had to work around stupid "spam protection" rules)
anyone who knows a solution? ...maybe an app that transfers apps from one account to another (there used to be such an app when multiple users were introduced)
multiple users ain't worth **** to me without this ability
I have the same problem with Nexus 7 (2013). Anyone found a fix?
