Hi guys !
Something bothering me with the email tab & the mail client.
When I receive a mail which is in a language with special characters [vietnamese's fonts], the email tab displays it nicely and with all special characters, but in the email client, the characters are all gone [replace by a □], and the mail is "unreadable".
Is there someone who does know why the fonts are not the same ? Or if someone does know how to change that ?
I suppose this font is already in the phone, so I don't need to find it and install it on the phone, but I don't know how to make it usable.

I guess it is no news that it seems impossible to change the "from" field when writing an email. Following is my setup:
1. Googlemail account
2. Set up new server in activesync (in HD2) so to have a working push email. This works very good.
So the problem is that when I send emails from the HD2 they appear as having been sent by the *.googlemail.com address, instead of any of the alias I have set up in Googlemail. (When sending emails webbased they are received under their alias, so it has to be a client side - HD2- problem).
Additionally there is no way to change the "from" field manually when writing an Email.
I have searched the registry in order to find a way to override the automatic googlemail address but have not found any solution.
Does anybody have any idea? Which smtp server does the HD2 use, when sending an email?

Hi all - I have searched high and low but have never found an answer except "it can't be done". Is it possible to change the default notification sound for the Yahoo Email App? I know it can't be done through the settings but I would think somewhere you could change the name of the sound file it is pointing to or overwrite it unless of coarse it is simply pointing to the phones default sound through code that I can't get to. It sucks not having something unique to distinguish Yahoo mail from default phone info.
I'm switching from k9 to gmail app and I'm finding annoying the sender's display name: why cannot show sender's name as in MY addressbook instead of custom display name set by the sender itself? Is there a way to do this?

the problem isn't about modding or developing but about email text format.
I cannot set my incoming mail format (my priority is in my exchange account ... cannot find the setting for other mail accounts either) to plain text so I cannot read greek!!!!
My phone is the HTC One X.
I install a custom (non-sense) ROM with android 4.4.4.
In the previous version (android 4.1.2 and htc sense 4 i think) there was an option in account setting to set incoming mail format to plain text or html.
Is anybody here know where can I found this setting?
