Aosp apps? - HTC Rezound

I remember when we first got ics, all of the senseless roms used aosp apps like system UI, settings, messaging, and others. Just wondering why don't senseless roms now run those?

I'm pretty sure the UI framework al always had the fc. All you have to do is download the themes

(Request) Apex style Bubble Folders for ConRom etc..

Is there any way that one can port over, the bubble style folders that are in the Apex Rom, i.e. SlimROM, to work with the other "Official" ICS Release Roms like ConRom, etc..
Use Apex launcher..
LoL, Thanks Con, I'm on your Rom, and just like the ICS with Sense, so was just wondering if there was a way to get those style folders over to the Sense side

I don't think it would be possible to port. Or not me at least. Maybe a smali god could or something.
Ok, thanks for the info, and if I do happen to bump into a smali god soon, I'll post the zip file he made

Just want it so bad... How did you managed to have it? Ah maybe you just trollin' since you have it on an other phone?
For my part I'm on stock sense I find it's really not bad compared to LG or Motorola stock launchers. I still prefer the aosp one mostly because it's open source. I Love open source.

I don't troll, lol. I just gave my opinion that I like that one, . There was one of the guys/girls testing AOSP files on sense, they pulled them from the AOSP roms for the sensation, most seemed to work fine, so you could probably grab the AOSP launcher from that and give it a try, should work since I doubt it's name rosie.

+1 for apex. used to use go launcher but found apex to be more minimalistic, smoother, and simpler.
Usually ICS stock... Works well enough, but still a battery hog.
Tried Apex, but didn't see a huge diffrence fron Go Launcher. I go back and forth, but usually stick with Sense.

Apex Launcher is amazing. I was using Go Launcher forever, but Apex is faster, smoother, and lighter.

Out if all the launchers I've tried on this phone and previous phones. My favorite was ADW EX. Since owning the Amaze I can't steer away from Sense. I like the widgets and things. I know its just personal preference but everytime I use other launchers I can't set up my screens like I do with Sense. Once we have AOSP or any CM then I will probably change it up. But until then I'm sticking with Sense

+1 for Apex - it's smooth, fast, light, and just snappy. I also like that I can hide programs in the drawer if I can't disable them...

[Q] AOSP/AOKP noob

Just started running Neo's AOSP rom, loving it so far. The only thing I miss about Sense is some of the widgets. Is it possible to use sense widgets on a non sense rom?

No.
Edit: To further expound on that, you would need the Sense framework and Rosie (Sense launcher)

check this thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1732330 it has an exact clone of the Sense 4 Flip clock widget for other launchers (even works in AOSP)
+1 for Android Pro Widgets. Gives you a lot you may miss from Sense. Beautiful Widgets is good for the clock/weather widget we all know so well from Sense, but lately I've been using HD Widgets for the clock/weather, which I like a little better.

Anyone know if we can use the standard ICS gapps with AOKP/AOSP or if the rom dev has to supply them?

You can use standard on any. Neo provides some themed ones for his roms ,but they aren't necessary.
Neo has a download on his aosp and aokp roms for inverted gapps, and another flashable download to turn the inverted apps back to normal.

Turn off Sense UI for Nova

Anyone know how to turn off the sense ui while using Nova Launcher? I am not rooted as of yet and want to do this.
You'll need to root and install the cm10 ROM or install a descended ROM with the ui elements deleted
Sent from my HTC Thunderbolt
Yeah without root, its not possible. Even a desensed Rom isn't senseless. The ui is integrated into everything, from the dialer to the framework and every stock app in between.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using Tapatalk 2
The important thing is that if you haven't taken the 2.04 update yet don't take it.
But if you already took it, you will need to wait for an unlock solution so you can root.
Once you're rooted and unlocked, you can install a Rom like ViperDNA which has a desense installer option and also lets you choose what sense apps if any that you want to disable.
Any other Rom will work too, you will want to install your launcher like nova or apex and then go to settings/apps and freeze the Rosie launcher by freezing the HTC Sense apk.
After running it frozen and getting everything dialed in and working you might want to delete the sense interface (called Rosie) completely.

Stock application for AOSP ROM

Hi guys,
I am looking to try using AOSP ROM for my S3. However, I am in love with some of my Samsung S3 stock application, like the Samsung keyboard and multiwindow?
Is there any possibility to flash these applications to the AOSP ROM? Anyone has the link to get these?
Also, after I flashed to AOSP, can I restore the applications that I have already backed up using Titanium during the stock ROM?
Thanks for your help
Most of the stock apps require TouchWiz framework to work, so no.
1. If I remember correctly, there are some AOSP & SAMMY Hybrid ROM in DEV section, may suit your request.
2. About titanium backup, yes, except system applications, if you wanna backup Sammy applications and restored in AOSP , it won't work as they require TW framework as above poster mentioned
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
You could try null rom, it's based on Samsung but with aosp look. Otherwise stock Samsung apps will not run in aosp/aokp as they need the TW framework.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
As others have said your only option is a stock samsung rom with the aosp look, I like ultima for this you can have the Nexus 4 launcher and all Sammy features and apps (except S planner month widget that requires touchwiz launcher)
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
There may be good 3rd party replacement apps. Perhaps if you specify which you're in love with....
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
Or is there some way to copy the TW framework for AOSP? if you have the access to system files can simply copy / paste the files in the right place?
No because samsung use framework-res AND twframework-res
