Hi guys,
I am looking to try using AOSP ROM for my S3. However, I am in love with some of my Samsung S3 stock application, like the Samsung keyboard and multiwindow?
Is there any possibility to flash these applications to the AOSP ROM? Anyone has the link to get these?
Also, after I flashed to AOSP, can I restore the applications that I have already backed up using Titanium during the stock ROM?

Most of the stock apps require TouchWiz framework to work, so no.
1. If I remember correctly, there are some AOSP & SAMMY Hybrid ROM in DEV section, may suit your request.
2. About titanium backup, yes, except system applications, if you wanna backup Sammy applications and restored in AOSP , it won't work as they require TW framework as above poster mentioned

You could try null rom, it's based on Samsung but with aosp look. Otherwise stock Samsung apps will not run in aosp/aokp as they need the TW framework.

As others have said your only option is a stock samsung rom with the aosp look, I like ultima for this you can have the Nexus 4 launcher and all Sammy features and apps (except S planner month widget that requires touchwiz launcher)

Or is there some way to copy the TW framework for AOSP? if you have the access to system files can simply copy / paste the files in the right place?
No because samsung use framework-res AND twframework-res

hi, to be honest with you you're better off using Go Launcher EX, better customisation options.
I installed this and I'm loving it, I even download system un-installer and removed TwLauncher from my phone (root required)

Be very careful about removing/uninstalling the stock launcher outright. Just as easy to freeze it With Titanium or similar & avoid potential problems.
Besides, you can't 'remove' TW in it's entirety. It has a bunch of system processes that are always running & any other launcher you use basically sits on top of it/those.
I have my stock launcher frozen in Ti & use GoEx as my default launcher & have never had any problems.

I remember when we first got ics, all of the senseless roms used aosp apps like system UI, settings, messaging, and others. Just wondering why don't senseless roms now run those?

When I had my S2 there was a ROM that was built on Touchwiz but had stock features and apps integrated - such as messages, calendar, launcher...and all obvious Touchwiz features removed. This is the best of both worlds for me.
Is there a simple stockified Touchwiz based ROM for the S3, or is there a reason that this isn't possible?
There is such a dizzying array of ROMs on here that it's hard to know where to start looking for such a thing!

I run UltimaROM, It' based on on stock JB but themed like the AOSP one. Also it has Aroma installer and you can customize allmost everything you can imagine!

I would also suggest UltimaRom. You can install whatever you like with the help on AROMA.
I have removed touchwiz from my s3 and removed many default applications . Now my phone is faster than ever. It's completely customised and I love it.

Stock jelly bean has touchwiz.
Touchwiz is a framework exclusive to Samsung devices. So when you buy a Samsung phone you probably have touchwiz.
There are different versions of jellybean that don't have touchwiz that you can load onto a Samsung device. Like AOSP, AOKP, and many many more!
All roms can be themed. Some are more difficult than others and require more steps to do so.

Yeah I mean theme a touchwiz rom to look like stock aosp. Is that possible? I have no idea how to theme otherwise I would have tried to myself...

First off AOSP is Android Open Source Project. It's as basic as it gets. It doesn't have touchwiz, sense, or stuff like that. So it doesn't have a theme, it's raw.
If you want to theme the stock samsung rom first you deodex the rom. Then you can theme it. Beginners use xposed framework and various modules. Smart guys on here can decompile and edit code and files. Smart people that don't have the time to edit roms download already theme'd, cool, kick ass roms from here! I'm a noob so I google a LOT and use a combo of both to get what I like.

He wants TouchWiz to look like vanilla android.
The look of stock android (meaning what is shipped on nexus devices) ics and above is called "holo" btw
You'd need a deodexed Rom, then you'd have to get the images from vanilla and place them in the corresponding apks in TouchWiz AND add the double called images into the TouchWiz framework specific apks and change any color Code xmls to holo blue.
If you just want the "look", a temporary solution is you could also install nova (or apex launcher) and then use the jellybean theme for nova or apex. I also froze TW launcher in Titanium Backup and installed the JB keyboard.
I did this after flashing Padawan JB rom, which is a Touchwiz/4.1.2 based rom.
Hey can someone make me stock s3 tw browser as a .zip file, because there are many interesting 4.4.2 tw ports with s5 apps and themes.
Those themes and other apps don't bother me at all BUT s5 browser does, nothing wrong with it but I cannot import my bookmarks to it so I cannot really use those s5 themed roms.
As I don't know how to extract that stock browser from other roms, I was asking that if someone would be willing to do it for me.
