So when my headphones are plugged in (says headphones connected and i see the little icon)
When i go into the dialer and dial out they disconnect...
When i am in a call and i plug my headphones in (i get the icon)
When end the call the headphones disconnect...
and i have to pull them out and put them back in
Anyone else having this issue??
I have cleaning up bloat wear, deleting and freezing apps. Might have deleted or frozen something that would screw around??
Yeah...you may have deleted something that's causing this. I just tested it out for you...and it didn't disconnect my headset.
so would a factory reset revert everything or will i need to reload the rom???

Reload the ROM. Factory reset won't reapply the apps that are gone. Be careful what you delete.

Alright so I'm having the same problem and I didn't delete anything I liberally just bought the phone...did u find a fix? I use my headphones for calls all the time so this is rather annoying
Answer a call n my headphones disconnect...send a call and they disconnect...even when I replug them in during a call I can't use them to hear the person or talk...help?
I have had a few issues as well, more while listing to a podcast, and audio stops from headset, and/or Bluetooth streaming.. Media file still playing. Had to reboot to make the headphone jack work again. Who knows if it is hardware or software!

Hi, a few days ago I noticed the headset icon in my Xperia X10's task bar, even though no headset or headphones were plugged in. Turn off/on proved to no avail.
Everything else in the phone functions normal, and if I do plug in earphones, they still work.
The problem is really that if I call someone, I must use earphones in order to hear them, because the phone is trying to output the audio through the apparent headset.
If anyone has experienced this before, or knows of any possible solution, any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
When I phone someone, on the dialer, there is a button for speakerphone....make sure that is unchecked and that one the dialer screen is off.
Is Bluetooth on? Add the Power Control Widget on the homescreen....uncheck the bluetooth box
If you open Settings->Applications and take a look at what apps are running.....what is there?
Are there any apps that have anything to do with a music app or something?
thanks for your help beau420, but I now believe it is a hardware problem, after a minute of fiddling with inserting and removing earphones, I managed to make the phone realize nothing was plugged in, and hopefully have now solved the problem
Hi guys, can you check this out?
When I run skype on my 2.3.5 I3 firmware, it completely mutes all sounds other then skype, like ringtone, alarms, notifications etc. This is also valid, when you exit Skype!
In practice it means, that when I ran skype yesterday evening and turned it off before going to sleep, my alarm did not wake me up to work... I mean it did, but I could hardly hear it...
I hear no sms messages notifications, no phone call tones - nothing.
What I have to do is reboot the phone or kill all background processes and turn the volume down and up - then it resets itself to the proper previous values.
Thanks.
Hmm. I've noticed something similar where after using either music player or scanner radio it looses all notifications. I had also thought it was something to do with the headphones cause they make my phone unresponsive sometimes and I need to unplugged and replug to get sounds. Do the notifications come through the headphones after the Skype thing? Do you use headphones with Skype?
I had concluded myself its something to do with the headphones being faulty until I tried a few different pairs with the same result so its back to the drawing board huh. I'm about to root and flash something new to see if the problem follows too. Will help narrow it down a fair bit or atleast send me in the correct direction.

No, it has nothing to do with headphones.
Headphones don't work with skype or any other multimedia app anyway, I mean the speakers do, however microphone does not work on the headphones (bluetooth ones as well as the ones on cable).
You just run skype and then you notice, that all sound is muted, that is it
Weird. I'm a little unimpressed with my 9100. Its buggy as hell, crap battery and is the redhead step child of the S2 series... meh. I'm back on my galaxy tab and I gave away the 9100t . T is for Terrible trash IMO so i even made sure it didn't go to anyone I actually liked... Epic Fail Samsung. Worse than stock Galaxy tab.....

The speaker on my Neo seems to be dead, I got no ringtone and no music sound. I have done a system settings reset, but no complete factory reset. Has anyone experienced this, any suggestions, or is warranty repair imminent?

I think repair is the only option. Make sure to backup your data first before carying it in.

I dont have a NEO I have a XPERIA PRO, byut the same thing just got it and the sound failed intermitently, only could make it work by pushing the loudspeaker with a finger, then it will work for another little time. sad really....
I decided to repair it myself and in fact I think I made it but let´s say... "the Russian way" jaja lust strip out the whole piece and remove original contacts and replaced it with two tiny cables that now go from the contacts in the PCB to the contacts in the loudspeaker directly.... gues it was faulty contacts in the original piece that made it fail... hope this info helps you to figure out something...
Check if you can hear anything through the speaker by testing it in the service menu.
Enter *#*#7378423#*#* in the dialer.
Go to service tests and speaker, remember to turn up the volume.
If still can't hear anything I suggest that you have it fixed at a repair center. Contact your local support team for more info about repair.
Since this afternoon, if I want to change the volume with the hardware buttons (media volume, call volume etc...) I heard a loud sound that's like tapping on the back of the phones case with a hard object.
This sound is also heard when I select Audible selection (settings > sound). It will then be heard every single time I tap the screen (and also when changing the volume)
It's not caused by the speaker, because I can hear the sound aswell when using the stock headset.
EDIT: I changed the volume with WidgetSoid, same sound!
For those familiar with taking apart electronic devices , it's the same sound as connecting a speaker directly to a battery, the loud click.
All details concerning rom version are in my signature. If necessary, I can flash the rom again.

Fixed it for now. Flashed the firmware again.
I have just received a new S2 after breaking my old one. I need to know if this one needs to go back.
I stream all my music through my Sony car stereo via Bluetooth. Now since getting my new phone. After about 15 minutes of streaming my phone kind of restarts itself. I say kind of, as it doesn't ask for the sim password, but it does go back to the home screen with the music player completely shut down. I loose all BT connection between phone and stereo and I have to find the track i was previously listening to, as though i have opened the player for the first time that day.
When this happens I have no other apps running, and I know the music player has an auto switch off timer in its settings, but i have got this switched off.
I upgraded it to ICS straight away so never tested if this fault occurred whilst my new phone was on Gingerbread.
Is this an ICS fault or the phone? As I didn't get chance to upgrade to ICS before I broke my old phone. So cannot tell.
Hope someone can help.

Thanks. I have the timeout set to never. Also how do you unpair a device on my S2 ? I am running ICS.
I have tried holding for a number on seconds but no menu comes up. plus the lower left button brings up no menu that offers to unpair.
I'm confused!!!
I have the same problem!
The model of my sony bluetooth car radio is mex-bt5700
The problem began when I began to install ics roms.
The restart is always each 22-23 minutes.
I have tried andyx rom, wanam and others...and always the same.
I have also tried lot of apps, google music, samsung player, player pro, poweramp...
The problem is that I have also bluetooth headset (sony bt-101) and I have no restart with it.
Only with Sony radio.
Hope somebody founds a solution because is very anoying and I wish to stay with ics...I love it!
Thanks!
Well i've tried all but one thing now. Unpairing, repairing, spitting, swearing, apart from stamping on it my last thought is i'm restoring factory settings and trying back on Gingerbread. Just to ensure it is not my phone, and it is ICS.
Once i've done this and tested it i will report back.
Hi Pope, did you have any luck? I am having the same problem with my Galaxy SII. I've tried factory resets, removing the MicroSD card, re-pairing the bluetooth, nothing helps.
I called my provider and they suggested it could've been a bad cell in the battery (been fine with previous Galaxies), or cooking the phone by having navi, music and data on (again, been fine with previous Galaxies).
They're sending me another phone tomorrow, I'll see if it does the same.
Fu..k this is the worst problem i am facing too, dam it why all the **** happens with android and not the iphone, this is when i get teased by how fu..ked android is by my friends when this happens infront of them.
I am fuming now, as it also only happens with my sony car stereo and not with my bluetooth headset ( philips ). Dam Dam, so shall I go back to dam SLOW GB just to solve this grap.
And why exactly after 30 minutes this ****y reboot happens with my sony car stereo when playing music over bluetooth
I am so angry now, as I am sure not many suffer from that problem so no solution will fix that
And for gods sake which controls the sound coming out of the device via bluetooth is it the kernel or the modem, AAHHHHHHHHHHH i am about to throw this mother f___cker out the fu____king window
Galaxy SII bluetooth crash
I also have the Galaxy S2, and also the Bluetooth streaming reboot issue. Seems to have started after the ICS upgrade. Every couple of songs the the track starts to glitch and I know the crash is coming. From my research it seems to commonly affect people streaming to Sony in-car systems. Hope there is a fix soon...:/
I have the very same problem! It started when I updated to ICS and it only happens with my Sony car stereo. Any solutions?
i seem to have fixed my problem, took the sony MEX back and bought a Alpine bluetooth stereo, its ran for over an hour now without a reboot,
if you want to keep the same stereo you need to upgrade to a custom 4.0.4 rom
paranoid android also works. but you will need PlayerPro Music Player to stream track details to the head unit.
The bluetooth sound on my phone went out while I was on a paired phone call in the car. The phone has no problem pairing with 2 cars, but will not play any sound with either a phone call or bluetooth music in either car now. When I try to make a call the call is routed to the car but neither the sound or the microphone seem to work. If I switch back to the phone's speaker, everything is fine again. Can anyone help me with this?
I have unpaired the phone with the car and re-paired.
I have done a master reset on the car audio receiver.
I have made sure that the media volume is at maximum level.
I am trying not to do a master reset on the phone because I dont want to add the apps and games again.
I am NOT rooted, running software version 2.13.651.1710RD.
Do a soft reset. Hold power and.up volume till it shuts done. 10 secs or so...bottom.lights will blink but ignore. Once off power it.back.on. this happened to me and I almost returned my.Bluetooth headphones. It worked perfect.after

Yeah as I was typing the question and thinking of the troubleshooting steps I had already taken, I realised that I had not don a simple re-boot. I re-booted and went to the car and everything was perfect. Thanks for the response.
