Good thing you asked, using the same subject title. I was just about to ask the same question.
Originally I could not see your attachments either, so had no idea you were talking about the same icon, lol...
BTW I wasn't even aware that was the black clipping test picture as my background, it shows up at total black.. HAHA!
This icon has been changed in the new XXBLFB firmwareto something more obvious

Can't be removed unless modded out. Or find yourself a new Rom. It's permanent on the Rom your using.

Hi, I bought a day ago s3 blue pebble and comparing it with another one of my friends (always pebble blue), I noticed that the brightness of its softkey is much stronger.
Is there a way to increase this brightness?

Mine is dim aswell. Compared to my GS1 which is bright as the sun.

I have mine turned completely off - I think they make the phone look extremely dated, especially when many devices come solely with on-screen buttons now.

If talkback isn't enabled, it might be another issue many of us have encountered. Certain apps such as Liteflow and Popup Notifier, as well as others, can cause this behavior if they are enabled in Accessibility Settings.There is no cure other than uninstalling the app that isn't playing well.

But the toggles in the menu don't have the words on them so I don't know what they do. Is there a list of toggles I can look up to see what they do?

Look in your app drawer or settings menu for lidroid settings. I believe Beans puts it in setting under power widgets. You can see what is selected, what it is, where it shows, name, etc...
I just gotta ask: you don't know the almost-universal symbols for wifi, gps, bt, etc?
