customization ideas? - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

Hey everyone, so i just tried the hubs layout on my prime and loved it, but i was thinking of trying other ways to customize my prime (themes..etc.).
So if anyone has an idea or a nice looking theme please share.
Thanks

Try the Cobalt Theme in the Dev section. It has a very nice look to it and just flashes right over your ROM. Check it out.

will be...and one more question..are the custom roms for this tablet better in performance or stability?

Well, I am a big fan of AndroWook Prime. If you are rooted, unlocked, and have a custom recovery it is what I would recommend. My favorite thing about it is that you can install a bloatware free minimal version, a mostly bloatware free version, or a just-like-stock version. Check out all the love Mr. Wookie gets in his thread. I notice that my TF is much snappier running this ROM, and I have had no real issues with it (but a few folks have, as you'll see in the development thread).

Go to /g/. They'll flame and destroy you but they'll help as well. The crazy neckbeards on there have some of the greatest customization skills I have ever seen.

[Q] Can't find a clean, simple TW ROM

Hi guys, sorry that this has probably been asked a million times, but I've been through the bible and 10 pages of this board and can't find a single clean TouchWiz ROM without garbage theming and addons that just make the phone unpleasant to use.
All I'm looking for is a clean, unthemed, TouchWiz Froyo ROM that's stable and doesn't have any bloat. Should I just revert to stock and remove the bloatware manually, or is there a ROM that fits this criteria? Thanks.
Garbage theming? I would give u an answer but I dont know what completly stock ROM is out there but I will let u know ur not gonna get one if ur gonna be bashing on all these Devs ROMs and then ask for info. Just be a lil more concious on what u say.

I have no issue with the hard work these devs do, I appreciate all the impressive achievements they've made. I use custom ROMs on my Desire and Transformer.
What I don't like, though, is not being able to find a single ROM that has the UI made the way Samsung intended. People dislike TW for being inconsistent with the rest of Android, never mind colours on top of that which are often inconsistent, hard to read, clash, or not a colour I'd chose. I find it hard to believe there's not anyone else who'd agree.

I'd have to say Project V and then put TW3 back onto it and it's pretty much like a "Stuck +" ROM.
Looks like stock, but runs EXTREMELY smooth and fast.

Quick question, is there a link for TW3 I'm missing? All I saw was TW4.
IMO this is the best 2.2.1 rom for the vibrant.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1015303
Bone stock AOSP rom, with a Hint of touchwiz. Paired with his Kernal, or the latest Bali for 2.2/2.2.1 can't be beat.
Best battery life I've ever gotten,
Best GPS I've ever seen.
and its Uber smooth, atleast as smooth as CM7 if not smoother.

That also looks sweet. Add in Launcher Pro or ADW and it could work fine. Thanks!
I would say Project V or Bi-Winning, but if you want to upgrade to GB you can try RevolutionRom which is virtually stock (it is themed like the SGSII) with a few tweaks to make fast and really stable.

Anyone else running out of good stock touchwiz roms to choose from?

Now that hyperdroids gone we pretty much have nothing left
I hate fancy themes and everything we have left is pretty much it. Trying out darky's rom right now because it's the only one left that's close.
Have nothing left? Look around. There are countless rooms on here that are outstanding and the developers deserve respect for their time, skill, and effort.
Try CheckRom RevoHD. It has a kitchen so all those themes etc. are optional

As the poster above me said there are plenty to choose from. VillainROM 3.0 & CheckROM HD V4 are a good place to start.
Search the development thread and you find them
lol, one rom thread gets closed and apparently the GS2 has no roms left? Have you even checked how many there are? There are two whole sub forums filled with them

The fact that Hyperdroid's thread is closed, doesn't mean it doesn't work anymore or that development of it has ceased. And there are many ROMs to choose from, that have the stock theme, so no point in mourning.
I meant we're running out of options for stock "no theme" roms. VR and Hyperdroid were the last of their kind. Hope VR pops out 3.1 or 4.0 soon. Like I said, nothing against the devs for their great work but I don't like themes.

I have stock (heavily modded myself) XXKI3, so I don't know; but aren't themes optional on a lot of ROMs?

Why not just flash a stock rom and root it? You can then mod it the way you like it.
Anyway, all stock ones look the same so not sure why you need an alternative. What's wrong with your current one?
EDIT: BTW, I agree that Checkrom + its kitchen app are a great alternative. Just don't theme it. Plenty of mods available.

Help Get the Miui ROM Ported to the TFP

I have tried asking on Miui.us for a ROM for our TFP. I was wondering if some of you can show your support and help ask for a ROM for us. I have PM'ed a few Mod's and admin's of the site and have received no response. Here is the LINK to the site. Please show your support so we can get this wonderful ROM made for our TFP. I have ran it on my Evo 4G and EVO 3D and it's very smooth with a lot of customization. There are thousands of theme's made for Miui and if you haven't ever seen it, I would highly suggest you check it out. Thanks in advance!

So sick of hearing this bull.
Let the owners pick what Rom they want to run. Is there a problem with Icons being sized the same, christ people spend hours on the market picking out themes and custom icons to get their screens to look a certain way. Whether it be an Ipad kinda layout or not.
While Miui has an Apple look to it (Apple does have some beautiful design) it by NO means runs like iOS.
Man, Ill take a clean looking stable Rom any day. Miui fits this bill. You cant deny the amount of downloads Miui has, they have done something right.
OP....there was a thread started yesterday from a guy who had started on a port. He had some questions for devs to help him out. I tried to steer him to some other forums here for help. He had some screenshots of miui on his prime.....jellybean(something).....

Enough of the elitist attitudes, we want options!! Let the people decide!
Miui might look like an iOS, but it IS definitely no where near it. It is like CM# but IMO way better. You are able to customize almost every aspect of the ROM. You need to look into something before you throw out a stupid comment like"buy an iPad". If I wanted something can't truly customize, over-clock, add anything to it and wanted something blan, I would have bought an iPad. On my old EVO 4G, the ROM was so smooth and had the highest bench scores on the EVO when I had it. On the EVO 3D, it runs just as smooth and very fast. I think that Miui would be a great ROM for us TFP, and if we had our own ROM and not a port, it could be the smoothest and fastest ROM out there. Miui is also supports almost 40 known phones and tablets, and is known world wide and has a big following.
I will continue to try and ask some of the developers for help over on Miui.us.

While miui would be a great option it will no way be the fastest rom. I have ran it myself on a few phones and it is very nice and smooth, but every phone also had other ROMs that were faster. It is very heavy on customization which is nice, don't get me wrong, but it is fact that it doesn't perform as well as many other ROMs on same device.
That being said would love to see it on the prime. Its a great ROM and I love to have more options and things to play with!
I talked to few more people over on Miui.us and found out that super_ is also working on a port for our TFP. He claims that he has been waiting for better dock support before he started ported, but he gave up on waiting and will try to also try and port it over soon.
Also, @rand4ll, IMO it was faster than any of the other ROM's that ran on the EVO 4G, and most on the 3D as well. I have switched back to a Sense rom though, a few features I like more than Miui when it comes to having it be used as a phone. Since the TFP isn't a phone, I won't miss those features and will like to use all the customization that Miui brings.
@Mcoupe, I thought I thanked you as well for providing the link and your info that you provided. I made sure it took this time!
Well we have progrss over at the Miui.us site. They have made a TFP section and are working on a rom. Whenever I find out more I will keep everyone updated on this.

For a short while there was a download on goo.im/miui, I'm guessing it was some sorta beta/nighty/test rom but anyway... I never got it to boot up completely (boot loop), And It appears they used cm9 as a base(the boot animation was from the old cm9 nightly) any way here is a DL link for it, see if any of you can make any progress or see what wrong with it..

I didn't open a new thread, I started this thread back in March and I was updating my thread that I started. .
It looks like you were the one who opened a new thread on the whole Miui ROM issue. Your post could have been added to my thread to let everyone know about an update to it. But hey, you didn't see me going to your thread and telling you about my thread that was posted before yours and you shouldn't have made a new thread. It's all cool though

Miui is built a fully built and customized version of CM I believe (I could be wrong though). They took the CM base build and basically built it from scratch off of the CM base. For a long time Miui was a closed source ROM, but I believe they finally released the source code so that any Dev can make a rom for their phone.

Hairy Bean Themes or Blacked out apps

Does anyone know of any themes that work with HB 2.2 ? I would like to add some eye candy to an otherwise dull Transformer Prime , HB 2.2 made it feel like new for a while but I am just spoiled with all the selection I have for my Nexus 7 and want to breathe new life into my prime.
On another note can anyone tell me if Team Blackout's apps work with HB 2.2? any issues with incompatibility? I would like to install them with the Aroma installer but I cannot find any info on them running on the prime or on HB 2.2.
Anyone try them on HB?
Thanks to all those that take the time to read this and to answer, I do really appreciate all the info that gets shared here and especially would like to thank the devs. Without them we would all be stuck at the mercy of the OEM's to decide what software can be put on our machines. :good:

[Q] Looking for a Decked Out Custom Rom!

Not sure if I have over looked or not, but I was looking for a completely decked out customer ROM with all the fix-in's like, customer color themes, no original Icons, that sort of thing. it would be stable and fast. if there are any , please give me a link
If I am out of my mind... please do so as well
Thank you Devs for all your hard work!
everyone will have a different opinion on what works and what doesn't, your best bet to to just try them out give them a day or 2 each to see how they run for you.
This is such a broad question that can be taken so many ways. As far as ASOP goes if you are talking having the most options pacman or revolt are going to have the most options.

Thanks Everyone
And my apologies for the broad question and thank you for the recommendations.
Not sure if ur a fan of touchwiz or not but Big, Nun, and The Family are doing some great things with Black Jelly. Dont let the fact that its in beta deter you. The rom is fast, stable, and very customizable. Also, GT's Padawan JB is pretty good as well. Those are just my personal recomendations.
A BIG @ZZ JAR OF BLACK JELLY
With the cm10.1 roms you have many themes available to really change appearences. See the app store.
