This is the Developers Thread for HTC Sense UI proting developement to our Streak.
Please dont ask questions how the process stage is. Every new thing that will work on our Streak will become updatet on post 2!
I don´t know how fast it will go on because I´m extremely busy at the moment but maybe I´ll get some help from other devs here!
So let the dev begin
UPDATES OF THE DEVELOPEMENT:
13.10.2010: HTC Sense Developement startet!
13.10.2010: Implenting sense to Froyo 2.2 V2 Beta was sucessfull but sense won´t start and data connection is lost
Ok first news for today!
I was able to implent htc sense into the froyo 2.2 beta 2 version but its not starting right now and I lost data connection with it!
But its enought for today see you tomorrow!
Reserved!!!
Nice work for trying this hope you are successful my friend
Thanks for taking on this effort!
You have no clue how happy I was when I saw this thread. Thank you very much for doing this, and know that your work is appreciated.

Very Nice!
animated weather oh please it would look awesome on the dell strak and then you can really show it off.
worth mentioning is that you'd have to run a DPI setting that will play nice (like 240 on the EVO), when running the HTC_IME on my streak, it only worked at 240 and 200, there may be more it will work at, I tested them working at those settings (doesn't work at stock 160dpi)

Thanks for this information! I´ll work on getting sense to our streaks today evening when I´ll get the time for it!
Thank you so much for doing this for us. It will be so great. I had this on my Nexus One and thought it was cool then, but thinking now, it will be the bomb on the Dell Streak.
You're the man!
Hi xda members...bad news for dev news...I have to fly to frankurt today evening for a one-week business trip so I maybe won´t find time to work on sense for the next week...maby on the evenings but I´m not sure about it.
If some other dev´s here get some news how to get sense on our streaks please pm me
Any progress here? I was so excited about this. Thanks
This was the post i was waiting for...thanx for the effort my friend
Umm, I really hate to be the fly in the ointment here but is Sense free and open source? Are there no issues taking HTC's code and redistributing it in a ROM for another manufacturers device? It's not quite as bad as trying to install a Windows OS on a device that is not licensed for it but it seems uncomfortably close.

That good thanks

the framework is open source, but the apk's are not. it is very well against copyright laws to take sense and port it to other devices, thats why cyanogen stopped after they got a cease letter from htc.
hey mate, i know u can do this......i will be waiting for ur latest update for the sense ui!!!
it should be way better than froyo.......i hope so
This is a project to port Sense 3.0 from the Flyer to the Nook Color on CM7.
I have a few things to clear up first, though.
1. We are in early stages. If you came here for a final ROM, hold on, we're working on it.
2. If you want to say "this isn't gonna work" then fine. Say it, but when it comes out, you won't get the download. (Just kidding )
3. This project will be moving a little faster now that pndo1 got a Flyer! (I also might get one soon.)
That's it. No more blah blah blah. Here we go.
inFini Sense is a alpha project to port Sense 3.0 Launcher/Apps to the Nook Color on CM7 as said in the OP.
Again, this does not completely work yet! Do not expect it to!
There are no downloads (yet) but we do have progress updates, and here they are:
Progress:
5.23 (my birthday!) This doesn't work cause it is looking for a 3G radio, which the Nook doesn't have. We have downloaded a wifi dump of it from here.
Here is what we did:
Downloaded it, ran it.
Searched "rom.zip" in explorer.
Copied it to the mac desktop or somewhere else. (we use parallels)
Unzip it (use windows for this, no mac program works. Use 7zip)
And extract the zip.
But we can't extract system.img. Any help here would make the project done in a day or two after/
That's where we are. Nothing working great, but we need to extract system.img from the wifi dump.
We have the apps on the nook using a 3g dump, but they fc looking for a radio.
Here is on screenie:

More when I get home from school
Hey guys, got a Flyer so will take a system dump of it.

Reserved for future uses. (Like blowing up your car)
Nice. Love the ui on the flyer tab. Good luck!
Got Ginger?
I am interested in this, carry on
Thanks for the support guys, working on it RIGHT NOW!
could you be a little more specific on what exactly you are trying to do?
I read your op three times and I don't get it.
thanks
We are doing this:
You know HTC Sense? We're putting it on the Nook. Simple.
More info:
Sense is a really nice UI.
CM7 ui sucks.
We put sense on cm7.
So are you putting a Sense rom onto the nook or are you trying to port the launcher over to CM7?
This is going to be awesome, good luck!
GO GO GO !!! I like sense...
Port the launcher
Sorry, this is not a total sense rom. We are just porting the apps to CM7.

Title and op post are very misleading.
So it's just the apps? Not even the launcher?
Also what the hell? ikingblack credits himself? @ikingblack for also working on it with pndo1
yes, the launcher and apps.
We said that this is not a sense rom in the op. "But, not a real sense ROM. It is CM7!!"
Please, read more carefully. This thread is about Sense UI on CM7 Nook Color, so get back on topic.

Has anyone ever ported a sense launcher ontop of a gaosp rom? I would think the framework alone makes it terribly impossible
Also
"So, porting Sense. Well, this isn't going to be a real HTC tab. Live with it. But it IS real Sense. Taken from a HTC Flyer dump. But, not a real sense ROM. It is CM7!!" worst English ever. Not to mention the parts in bold.
We might work on it some other day. My friend pndo1's dad has a gtab so we might.

??? CM7 is a GAOSP rom so you're working on it now aren't you?
Yeah, I guess we are.
Hey Guys
It may be a silly question but I was wondering why the official release still looks like gingerbread I mean obviously some parts look like ICS but others dont, why is this ?
This can be fixed with a theme editor I guess but I was just wondering why, when O2 release this to customers will it still look as it does now ?
Yes it will as samsung are so in love with touchwiz that they should marry it.
I use spb shell so will stick to that.
But use any launcher to get the look you want. When Im not using spb use launcher pro as it gives you a wide scope to play with
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA
Hey person from Telford! nice to see another.
This is the way ICS will look on the SGS2. Samsung wouldn't change from this look as it could potentially alienate a lot of their 20million customers.
Hey guys thanks for the answers, so whats the best way to make it look how its ment to is there a hack to get the look or is the best way via a theme ? the reason I ask is because I have come across this guy http://www.samsung-galaxy-s2-android.com/rom-android-403.html
that is the look I want and he seems to have got the look with earlier versions
The way to get the stock look is with a theme like my ICS RED
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1535956
or with a custom ROM.
thats diffrent so if I look for that but im guessing th blue one im after that should do me thanks

Correct me if i'm wrong, but that is AOSP ICS version, so that's the default look of it.. It's not themed
means nothing to me mate so thats the original rom from google or a beta anyway, Im guessing this guy will update this soon then ?
I just want my SGS2 to look like how google inteneded mainly cause its better looking

The problem is that AOSP isn't 100% functional yet.. video recording, MTP and some other things don't work yet and they will remain that way until samsung releases sources or xplodwild finishes his kernel ^^
oooohhhhhh its all starting to make sense now, that makes sense so its just a waiting game really then we can install the google version and its then happy days, so thats what this guy is doing and the CM9 guys
I guess what they do now then is backwards engineer what Samsung has released and work from there
I'm also interested in this. Basically I want a change from always looking at the same menu after a year and i had hoped ics would give it but im hearing it all looks the same cause of touchwizz. So I'm hearing different things, some people say install a theme, others say install a launcher and yet others talk about installing a new rom?
The Ressurection Rom looks quite cool, is it really a bugfree experience? Do i have to reinstall all my programs, downloaded apps and stuff like battlenet authenticator?
Can I install the ressurection rom now or do i need to wait till my phone has ics installed trough kies?
What is the best way to go to get a smooth ICS type experience? Whats the main difference between these things? (sorry im a noob by the way and theres so much information on this site its hard to get a grip on it).
Have a look at the link i put up I think the best thing is to install that rom after its been updated again with the new version of the ics that was just leaked

Nova launcher will give you a stock ics like experience. Worth a try

07/06/2013 - UPDATE: I am NOT abandoning this thread! I still have and use my Transformer Prime on a daily bases, and will continue to use it until I get my next tablet.
There doesn't seem to be much going for the Prime. I'm looking into a couple threads and there will should be AT LEAST a couple more videos on the Transformer Prime (added to this thread of course), before I throw in the towel and sell it or something... AFTER getting the New ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity of course...
I've seen other threads, where they posted in the development section with a thread like this (even got it stickied), so I thought I'd start one here!

You thief! I was just about to make a 2nd post to reserve it! haha.
Thanks and you're welcome!
great videos man. you had me laughing also with you being High on Android..lol Seriously, thanks for the vids. i made sure to like them and i subscribed. I am like you or like you was in the fact that I've been putting off unlocking my device. just in case i ever needed to send it in. I watched the how to unlock & install recovery, how to install/flash CM9 & the review of CM9 on Prime. I am really interested in the AOKP one you said you will make. Any estimated date on releasing that video? Thanks to your videos, i feel confident about unlocking once i do. It all looks very easy. I just hope i wont get stuck in recovery bootloop at first like you did in video.
I like the features AOKP has so i will be waiting on that video install/review to drop from You. So which recovery do you prefer or find to be the best or easiest to use? TeamWin TWERP, CWM touch, or old CWM regular method. That teamwin recovery with goo manager looks simple and straight forward to use. also like the fact you can choose multiple things to flash at once and pick the order that it flashes.
Once again great videos. i know ill be watching the how to unlock and flash recovery & the how to install Rom one alot more. I'm always like that. being extra careful so i don't brick my device. So by constantly reading and watching the how to vids, ill have the in & outs down packed.

WOW! I had to reread that a few times! Judging by your reply, you pay very close attention to detail.
About the AOKP video, I work full time, and I get sunday through tuesday. So I'll more than likely make the video next week! Once I get off work on Saturday's, I'm literally FREE to make videos until tuesday night!
I really like TWRP! AT FIRST, I wasn't feeling it and would go back to CWM. On my EVO3D, you can NOT charge the phone while it's off (something I like doing) and usb mounting doesn't work in recovery. And their hasn't been an update in months. So I'm definitely enjoying Team Win as their recovery simply works, without any issues, and they are QUICK to release updates! So I'll be donating to Goo Manager when i'm not so broke, because I doubt I will EVER use Rom Manager again, and I want instant updates! My Prime has already had 3 Nightly updates since making the video. I don't regret voiding at all, AND NOW I get to make ALL of these videos!
Kinda like this one! When they get more things working, that would be AWESOME to have on my Prime! A dual boot configuration would be BEAST!!!
Thanks VERY MUCH for the kind words. I saw that you liked this thread shortly after I posted it, and it reminded me of your replies to some of the threads I've replied to. I appreciate you... A LOT!
added "how to update your Prime and restore root".
If you have any requests for videos, let me know.
So it was fixed... Thank you!
I was literally about to never touch this forum again.
For a few minutes you made me feel as if I wasn't as important as others.
Thanks for clearing all of this up.

waiting for that AOKP video Team EOS Rom & that new Gummy Rom seem interesting also. oh, and can't forget about WSG beta Rom, very solid from what I hear. it would be great to show all the features and how they perform on a particular rom. These the kind of videos I've been waiting for to see how each of these roms look and perform and what added features they bring over stock. Although Virtuous prime is more stock based, I've heard its bulletproof. with the added features and optimization it has, its been said to be one of the most stable, if not the most. just some thoughts..lol

yeah, the moved it to the GENERAL forums yesterday... but I said that if mine needed to be moved, then so did the other thread that I linked to. So he moved it back and stickied it! Very Awesome!!!
That's a LOT Of roms! Lol. Question... I see some people make "HOW TO INSTALL" videos on every rom. I THINK that's unneeded IMHO... Because with EACH ROM, you just boot into recovery, wipe, and then install... lol. But some people do it with every little update that comes out. So why make a "how to install" and then separate review video?
What is YOUR thoughts on that? (Others can chime in as well) I just feel that's a way to increase your video count rather quickly... Everyone that's been around for a while, can easily apply an update.zip! If there are EXTRA steps, I can see making a video on how to install it. My videos USUALLY have a "how to install" an d a "review", IN THE SAME video. Because a "how to install" video is just a few steps, and there is no need for a 2 minute video, on each rom. Why not combine the two?
PLEASE reply with your thoughts on that. If there is extra steps in the how to install, then I'd do a separate video for that. But when it's "WIPE, INSTALL ROM, REBOOT"... I don't feel that needs a video that should take 2 minutes, all on it's own. So when i make a "how to install video", that's IT! usually after it's installed, I also walk the user around the rom, in the same video. On my CM9 video for the Prime, I actually reviewed it in the same video!! BUT, there was so much to cover, that I split it up!

I feel the exact same way as you do. the other roms I listed was more for a video review of them. no need to make a separate how to install video for each unless extra steps were needed. but its like you say, since installing a few short steps anyways, you would have them in the review video anyways. It'll be like you starting from the beginning and loading and flashing the rom, then reviewing it. Separate video definitely not needed for every different rom out there.
I'm sure people would love to see an Ubuntu install/video review also.
There are noobs & alot of people new to android that visually seeing the install gives them more confidence in doing it and wanting to try it out. Its amazing how all these Android phones n tablets can be taken past stock configuration to the world real customization. Pretty impressive stuff to be able to do these kinds of things on a Device. This is what makes Android so much better than IOS, IMO.

Hey everyone, so i just tried the hubs layout on my prime and loved it, but i was thinking of trying other ways to customize my prime (themes..etc.).
So if anyone has an idea or a nice looking theme please share.
Thanks
Try the Cobalt Theme in the Dev section. It has a very nice look to it and just flashes right over your ROM. Check it out.

will be...and one more question..are the custom roms for this tablet better in performance or stability?
Well, I am a big fan of AndroWook Prime. If you are rooted, unlocked, and have a custom recovery it is what I would recommend. My favorite thing about it is that you can install a bloatware free minimal version, a mostly bloatware free version, or a just-like-stock version. Check out all the love Mr. Wookie gets in his thread. I notice that my TF is much snappier running this ROM, and I have had no real issues with it (but a few folks have, as you'll see in the development thread).

Go to /g/. They'll flame and destroy you but they'll help as well. The crazy neckbeards on there have some of the greatest customization skills I have ever seen.
