Buddy, i too face this very same problem with the quicklaunch (fast capture) feature of the camera on ICS! If u go through the ICS bug/issues thread i have already reported it there about a week ago, and few others have also confirmed this issue (only on ICS). It works as it should (perfectly) in any GB rom, which i have confirmed by downgrading to GB thrice!
Now, I am sure that it an ICS bug! Hope sony fixes this & other ICS bugs soon, and I simply don't want to go back to GB as I am spoilt by this otherwise awesome ICS upgrade!

I have no issue with the Fast Capture as well.
that's weird.
fast capture works very well in my xps ics
Fast capture mode in ICS is much slower than GB.
ICS 4.0.4 CH, full wiped etc. Any ideas to solve it ?
Please help this forum be somewhat useful by NOT opening new threads when there are similar up and running.
Thanks for your cooperation!

hey sorry im looking for a stable or close to stable rom for my girlfriends SGH i777, aside from CM9?, hopefully this is the right spot to post, can some body please help?
check the ported roms or wait on att.
If you haqd spent even a little time looking through the forum or searching you'd know that there is no ICS ROM for our phones yet and that stupid ICS threads like this get closed pretty quickly. There is a main ICS thread for posting in and until an actual ROM for our phones is released that is where all talk of ICS should be kept.

All of the ICS roms have a bug or two. However they are all running very well for the most part.

As already mentioned take a look in the Ported Development section. I'm currently running AOKP which is amazing though there are 2 bugs that I know of (No video recording, netflix doesn't work). There are also some stock TW based ones in there as well and I'm sure more will come now that the major kernel bugs are fixed.
Cm9 is pretty close to stable, though its beta still. most of the big things are fixed just minor bugs like camcorder and things. mounting, screen on/off, and buttons are pretty much fixed
sorry for the trouble and thanks ill check out aokp

aokp has been pretty stable so far. The biggist issues I think left are video recording, netflix and crackle dont work. so I think the major things are video encoding/decoding but as a daily driver it's pretty stable

What are you talking about? We have a cm9 port, a AOKP port, and a I think a samsung stock port.. We just dont have an "official" AT&T ICS rom
I didn't like the ics roms we have. I bet your gf wants video rec so its not ready yet. Miami is right for once. ;p
Please, take the time to view the forum instead to hurry to click "new Thread"

HI,
i just wanted to share my thoughts on the lack of development that i'm noticing these days. When i bought a XMP, i was seeing a lot of mods and development happening in the XMP forum. New GB Roms/updated ROMS every week. Increasing performance week by week, Then sony released ICS, buggy and slow. All devs soon started raping it, but nothing great happened (apart from kamarush's minicms, which is still not very stable, also has camera recording stuttering). I've seen and used ROM's that came out such as RealICS, NeroICS, ICEHybrom.. all lacking performance, ROM's like real ICS does have issues with XMP (camera flash light not working properly), we also lost a good dev 'bbooff' due to idiotic members demanding like they paid a million $ to him to develop for XMP. The thing is most dev's are not devs, they are just modders. There are flaws in sony's ICS, unless you know how to debug and re-code and fix the actual problem, there is no point in simply putting all the optimization scripts and tweaks in the ROM. Most of the so called devs are doing the above. The only exception is kamarush and expacer, though they also have their limitations. GB development is halted! why?
I'd request the real dev's (kamarush & expacer) to try to fix the issues in sony ICS and the other modders to work on GB versions.
Plz do share your thoughts on my thoughts.
They both are now busy with JB. Maybe its can be really better then ICS. Just give them time and we will see how good is JB on our phones

I too hope JB version to be better than ICS. But i am not sure if they can make all the features work properly, such as Xloud, FM and bravia. Those are sony proprietary stuff, if the ICS version files are compatible, then it'd be great. but i highly doubt so. Anyhow, lets hope for the best.

Hi guys,
I've just found out that when you slide down the notification bar and the for example you keep your finger on wifi, data or bluetooth for 2 seconds it will take you to the settings of the selected icon.
I've never seen this on any review or read of it anyware. I'm on latest Ics Checkrom.
Thanks

Yeah I just noticed that by accident recently, very handy. No idea it was there in ics, I'm on latest jellybean leak.

Yes it works on checkrom. Don't think it works on stock.

That's been a pretty standard feature since like forever. I swear people don't read anything about their phones.
Came with jellybean? lol.

Actually he is partly correct. It is standard feature for AOSP ICS and JB roms BUT Samsung has only implemented it in JB and not in ICS for the S3. So, you're the one who isn't reading.

Actually thats not strickly true i have always been on stock samsung ICS rom and it worked as a direct shortcut straight out of the box- has done since i got the phone. Found out by accident when playing with phone when i first got in - held wifi for a tad long (couple of seconds) and it went straight to wifi settings menu!! Useful little feature..
Hmmmmm just trying it now and it don't work anymore!!!! ... it deffo worked on the samsung ICS rom out of the box, Had a update via Kes a month or so back which put me on I9300XXLH1, I9300XXBLG8 4.0.4 so either that stopped it working or something i've frozen has stopped it!!
I know for a fact it worked coz i used it several times when i first got phone and was messing about with all the settings etc!

ICS XXLH1 doesnt working :/
I recently got myself nexus 7 which has 4.1.2 and doesnt have any flash support but i installed flash and im using firefox with it. The performance of flash is still isnt great and some times crashes . Have tried different browsers but still the same issue.
I personally use flash quiet alot .. does the crashing issue exist on s3 4.1 update aswell?
Can some one with the new update shed some light please
Because atm ics is doing just fine for me .
Thanks

Updating to 4.1 is a pretty good advantage.. that way you get updated to most of the things.. anytime, android will abandon ICS soon like how they abandoned GB </3
hahahaah
Of coarse its worth it, always.. unless the update is a buggy as hell release but, for the most part- it only gets better

I've been hearing a lot about my aging YP-G70 and its ICS camera fix. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to be able to play Ingress (JUST GOT MY ACCESS CODE!) but I don't want to revert to Gingerbread again. I'm still confused about the progress being made here though. JackPot apparently fixed front cam, but was this released? Also, is the choppy back cam fix released too? I just can't keep up with this anymore... THX in advance!

Never knew about the front camera fix. Its probably only on his own ROM as he has also got HW working on his ROM but not released it. Don't think there's a fix for the choppy back camera thing. The devs may have been secretly chatting via PM to make the back work for ICS but who knows? I've also wanted Ingress, looks great.
IDK but I saw a legit looking video with an ICS GP 5.0 INTL with a working front cam. It also had a back cm fix, but it was super choppy and didn't really work. I'll see if I can get u a Link
