Is it possible to send any file through NFC protocol from GS3 to another NFC device? In particular I'd pick a file in ES File Manager (like apk) and send it to another GS3.
I use File Expert and supports NFC,you can use mobile phones enabled NFC to transfer files and applications.
Thanks I'll try it!

I am having a different question!!
Is there anything in samsung s 5830 to share files from one phone to another via wifi??
I heard from my friend that he seen such file transfer but he don't know how to do it. So is it possible with galaxy ace 5830??
Try Hoccer, its free and its easy, or Estrong File Manager but this one requires to be Root
Hello!
This may sound like a dumb question but how do I search for a document (pdf, doc xls...) which I know is the SD card but I don't remember where exactly?
If use the search feature, even though I remember the file name, it wont find anything, is there a plugin or another app to install to be able to search for files on the phone?
I have an Xperia Mini Pro SK17i
If you do a search in the market for Explorer. Explorer will search both the files on the phone and the files on your memory card. Explorer is a free app. The makers of Explorer also have an app call Root Explorer which has further options for rooted phones. Both are great
Thank you!
But isn't it ironic that a Master of Search like Google didn't put a simple file search feature in his OS? :-/
I use astro file manager, pretty fast
I just downloaded File Expert which is a file explorer and allows you to create an FTP or Web server on the phone to access the file via wifi. Haven't tested yet but seems pretty cool
Here one, why can't the prime (4.03) stock, file manager, can't see the mp3 files,
on a usb hard drive, but file manager HD tablet can. ? ? ?
Is there something that needs to be tick on ? OR, it just lacking ?
Thanks
bump... please
Probably lacking. I don't remember any problems (with system files unhidden) except that it only can open stuff via association, not open and ask "This looks like $MIME, what ya want?"
I can recommend ES file explorer. Its free and has all the options you need.
ES File explorer really sux, fails large file copies if device goes to sleep, freezes the notification of the copy until you restart the app. Also had numerous other issues with it. You already found the only alternative that I have been able to use successfully, HD file manager. ES needs to be updated to allow you to use it full res and better compatibility with ICS.
Want to transfer data from old Motorola to Galaxy S4. I was able to transfer everything from phone to PC, but don't know where to drop it on the Galaxy S4. When I plug in the USB, I have a choice either camera or media device. Both "Card" and "Phone" directories show up in Windows Explorer. I just am not familiar with the file structuring. I do have Astro and ES File Explorer. Read somewhere Astro wouldn't let you get to the root folder. I just need to know where to put some of the files. I understand there is a difference in phones and some of it won't transfer. Samsung has a transfer tool that will transfer from LG, Blackberry, Nokia and iPhone, but not Motorola. If it can't be done then it can't be done. Thanks in advance.
Hi
Not sure if this is possible firstly.
Basically, I just upgraded from my Samsung S3 to a Sony Z2.
I hate the gallery app on the Sony and the File manager. I was wondering if I could use the Gallery & File Manager app from my S3 on the Z2?
I made a .apk of the files on the S3 using ES File Manager, but the Z2 does not let me install them.
Any ideas?

Nope, those apps are part of samsung's touchwiz framework. Will require a dev to do some extensive porting.
Use Quickpic from playstore.
As for file managers, there's many on the store, however, only the built in file commander has full control (both read and write access) of SD card. That's an KitKat limitation, unless you have root.

Hi
Thanks for the quick reply. Yeah I just done some quick research and everyone recommended quickpic, Which I just installed. It is much better than the Z2 app, a lot more similar to the S3 Gallery.
As for File Manager, I am using ES File Manager, but it is a bit complex for just general use. So I alternate between ES File Manager and OI File Manager.
So they are limited with R/W functionality?

Yup, seems like it. Only the built in file commander seems to be able to do stuff like delete from the external sd card, as well as copy paste from internal -> external. It's a bit annoying that you can't use your favorite file manager completely but, when the device gets more popular and there's extensive development via rooting etc we'll get them back I guess
I'll be in the same boat come tomorrow. Z2 should be delivered tomorrow.
I've had OmniRom/Slim/AOSP for months though so won't miss any of the Samsung rubbish.
Couple of weeks to check there are no hardware issues, then ROOT!
