Just a question. On my old iphone I had an app that I can have video wallpapers and video ringtones on my phone.
My video ringtone
that was what I made to work on my Iphone. Can anyone recommend a good video ringtone app for the S3? I seen a few but they didnt have good reviews.
You can search the play store with "video ringtone"!!!
Here's a link for that https://play.google.com/store/search?q=video+ringtone
yeah searched before but wasnt working on the S3...I guess they been updated.. Ill try again though
I use Video Caller ID (free).....works flawlessly perfect....you can set a video & trim it

Greetings all. Is anyone aware of a video player app that is provisioned to dim the system bar icons during play like the stock player? The stock player is pretty limited in the files it supports. None of the usual suspects (MoboPlayer, VPlayer, VitalPlayer, Meridian, etc) seem to have this yet. Watching a movie while having to be reminded of the time and other notifications is kind of a drag.
Does anyone know of a market app that has this feature enabled or are we just going to have to wait for the devs to update?
yes plz I will pay for a player that does this
There are already a couple of threads requesting exactly this. Just do a search. The condenses at the moment is to email the developer (moboplayer) requesting this feature. Obviously if enough people ask for it, they will implement it sooner
MX player

Try MX player. After installing go to settings and there web site and download the beta. Great player and plays nearly all codecs
Only diceplayer able to dim. U have to buy it...
Dice player is the answer... It has true HW decoding as well.
dice player = the best. Worth every penny
ok folks, I'm still a big android noob, so forgive if this is not proper android terminology, but is there a way to install more codecs for the video player?
or do I just need a seperate video player app?
some vids are playing without sound (and actually won't play at all from the dlna app, but plays w/o sound from the gallery>dlna)
and another one plays, but "seek is not supported"

Built in codecs are limited by the Tegra2 (Specs: http://www.nvidia.com/object/tegra-2.html) However, you can install a different video player with software codecs that work pretty well with almost every format until you get to resolutions of around 720p, then you get skipping.
Download MoboPlayer. It'll automatically install the needed files for your phone. Real solid.

nice player, better than stock, but still some videos no video but audio, other ones no audio but video...
Check out rockplayer. There's a free version in the market
I have been using mxvideo player with arm7(something) codec. If u install mxvideo player and open it will auto detect the codec u need. Has been working very nice for me I also used QQplayer which was alright.
well, mobo player seems like the nicest interface, but rock player is the only one that consistently works
thanks for the recommendations guys
I recently tried posting a video to YouTube that was taken from the standard camera app on my Eris. When posted to YouTube, the audio codec is messed up. Normal speech comes out massively garbled and then the audio cuts out about a minute in. I converted the 3gp file to an avi on my PC but it comes out tilted 90 degrees when I do that. Does anybody know of a way of sharing a video to youtube and have the audio work properly?
I had the same problem. The only thing i found that fixes it was to just delete the video and upload it again. might take a couple times to fix though. somebody might have the issue solved.....i usually upload through my gallery and not the youtube app, i dont have any problems when uploading from there
I did the exact same things. I even took the file down to my PC and uploaded it from there. It seems like YouTube is not supporting the file format. It plays fine on the phone and plays fine on my PC using quicktime. I uploaded the original video several times and another one and the problem kept happening. I'm also uploading from the gallery by clicking share>YouTube. Any other ideas>
ok here is what i have found out. with my stock video recorder - the sounds comes in for split second then the video just stays on a single frame and doesnt move but the video bar on bottom shows its playing. So then i tried with the Miui camera app i have installed - it plays the video just perfect BUT with no sound. Right now im looking into apps on the market to replace the stock camcorder, found one but it forcloses on me after recording. Its called "anCorder" try it out it might work for u. I know for a fact that the app called "videocam Illusion" does upload to Youtube and does upload just great with no problems.
Thanks Ricky. I will try those.
Ancorder definitely FCed just as you end your video recording. Videocam illusion did great in a small upload test. I noticed the format was .mov instead of .3gp so I think that helped.
Ive been searching all over the forums and the few threads Ive found asking this question do not really give any answers and all seem to be very old, like 2010 old. What I need to be able to do is have music playing on the music player and then take video without the music stopping. I dont care about sound quality in the recording, I can remaster later if needed. The problem I have is that I only have one device for both playing music and capturing video and there is a specific place and a specific time where I want to take a video of the moment, while also being able to hear the music that matches that moment. Is there any way I can force the music player to stay on during video capture? The video itself will not need sound to be recorded at all, but if it could capture the music in the video, that would be nice too.
I managed to do this with gingerbread 2.3.5 using stock camera and mixzing player.
I also can do that now with my ICS 4.0.4 (cm9), stock camera and mixzing player.
It also works on 4.0.4 with stock mp3 player and CameraZoomFX.
Record video while playing music
Hello, I am running ViperOne 4.3 now and I absolutely love it. I was wondering if any one else is able to record video while playing music as prior to this (locked, not rooted, and stock 4.3) I was able to do so. I did not check this with 4.4 but then again it only lasted 1 day on my phone before I found this amazing rom.
Anyways, if anyone has figured this out or if it could be added to future updates please let me know!!
Thanks,
Hey buddies! I'm currently on search for an good YouTube player. It should actually work, not like the many on the PlayStore. All I want is to play music (from YT Videos) in the background. I don't really need a pin feature, just background listening. And I'd like to have a notification to forward/pause. Does anybody of you know a good app for my purpose?
Thanks!
Lol, right after I posted this thread I found PVSTAR+, seems pretty solid.
