Hello,
I own a 64GB P7510. It is rooted and currently it has a version of CM9 ICS installed. I have tried several versions of ICS and Stock Honeycomb as well as Tasks GalaxyTask 14.
I use Splashtop HD mostly on the tab and have noticed that it randomly freezes the tablet and crashes the device. The only way to recover it to hold the power button down and wait for the device to restart.
In Stock ROM and GalaxyTask 14 it seems to work fine. In ICS or when installing Pershoots kernel the crashes occur. The crashes are totally random and can happen when splashtop has been left along for a minute, ten minutes or not at all.
I assume this has something to do with the kernel as I experience the same problem with GalaxyTask 14 but only when I install the pershoots kernel. It also happens in all ICS versions I have tried.
Current config: Android 4.0.4, Kernel [email protected] #1 SMP PREEMPT Sat June 23 22:18:30 EDT 2012, Cyanogenmod version: 9-20120703-NIGHTLY-p4wifi, Build date: Mon Jul 2 22:00:33 PDT 2012, Build number: cm_p4wifi-userdebug 4.0.4 IMM76L eng.jenkins.20120702.220017 test-keys
Splashtop version: (Streamer) 2.0.0.4 (also tested in older streamer but same results), (Client) Splashtop 1.9.9.5 SW r21787
This make using Splashtop unusable as it randomly crashes. When I spoke to Splashtop support they said they had never heard of a problem like it.
I have looked all over the web and done extensive searches of XDA to try to find out what the problem could be, but to no avail. I also hope I have put this question in the correct forum.
The problem takes place in (and I have tested):
GalaxyTask 14 (only with pershoots kernel)
AOKP ICS
CM9 ICS
It works fine in:
GalaxyTask 14 without pershoots kernel
Stock HC ROM
Even if there is no solution, is there a way I could troubleshoot the problem.
Any help would be appreciated.
Many thanks,
Graham.
Just bumping. Has no one at all experienced this problem at all?
I reloaded Honeycomb this week and there were no problems at all, then reloaded ICS and it still crashes. I can't be on my own surely?
Graham.
on ICS (you can use 0710 experimental i posted this morning on droidbasement),
as soon as it crashes, head straight to recovery and pull /proc/last_kmsg and send it to me.
i'll see what i can do.
I will flash this now and let you know. My tab crashes quite a bit on the 07.04 CM9 nightly, and am thinking about going back to HC

it should not be crashing. you may have a bad app or an unstable OC doing harm. at any rate, load up 7/10 experimental, do not OC or install any other app but splashtop. if it crashes, pull the log.

in fact, this is what you should do:
pull your data off /data/media, odin back to 3.2 (the whole tab will be wiped), odin CWM (found in the 7/10 experimental folder), boot CWM, wipe, flash 7/10 experimental, latest gapps, and boot in. dont restore any apps and dont OC. install only the splashtop app. observe and pull log if it crashes as i outlined above.
the added bonus from the above will ensure you don't have any more crashes from extraneous unknown factors.
When I said my Tab was crashing, I meant in general and not due to splashtop. I don't even use splashtop. I thought maybe your experimental build and giving you that one file could help troubleshoot crashing in general. Sorry about that.

Thanks Pershoots. I am not sure what is going on. I will have a look and send it to you. It may be next week before I get a chance.
Many thanks,
Graham.

hi pershots.
i rebooted into recovery after the last crash but i dont see where to pull that from. i am using cwm recovery. also when you talk of your 0710 experimental do you mean a newer version of the kernel?
many thanks,

you need to be on 07/11 experimental rom (from droidbasement) or 07/12 nightly from get.cm.
please odin back to 3.2 (the whole tab will be wiped; make sure you back up any data you may have in /data/media), odin CWM (you can find this at droidbasement), boot it, wipe, flash either of those roms and flash latest gapps. enter in, do not restore any apps. install only splashtop and run it.
now observe.
if you get a crash, head straight to recovery and do this:
adb pull /proc/last_kmsg .
then send that to me.
I am experiencing the same problem. On stock HC 3.2 splashtop worked fine but my HDMI cable out didn't work so I flashed RS_Supremacy_AOKP v0.2 pershoots kernel 2.6.36.4-cynogenmod+, my HDMI cable worked great after that the rom is awesome I love it but only just recently noticed that splashtop now is almost useless it always freezes within 5-10mins of use and I then need to hold power button down to restart tablet. I'll be watching this thread with great interest as I don't really want to change my rom I really like this one.

Here you go Pershoots. I hope this is what you are looking for. I am not really up on using ADB. I could not get it to do a pull from CWM recovery or Odin recovery so I rebooted and ran USB Debug then finally got the computer to see the device. Anyhow, here is what I pulled. If I did this wrong if you could please explain or point me to somewhere to see the steps needed to ADB from recovery as I could not find anything on Google about ADB recovery galaxy tab 10.1.
Thank you for looking at this for me.

not really. altho, there was a blurb about protected memory which ive since enabled in the video driver (been enabled for a while).
crash
The crash is happening in aDownloader and Splashtop... now in JB. It happens very randomly...
I have re-flashed it, re-odined it, re-stocked it many times(tried all sorts of different roms), but I get this issue always when I have pershoot kernel, and unfortunately there isn't much alternative choice on ICS / JB. It looks like this kernel issue is here since the beginning and basically I am unable to download torrents (or stream HD via splashtop) without restarting it a couple of times.
It's really strange that more people are not experiencing this issue...
Try the experimental I posted for cm9 or 10 (07/28).
Post logs if it crashes.
Hi pershoots.
I have been running jellybean with your kernel 26/7 for the last week and had only a couple of crashes. Maybe it is an ics issue as i have reflashed ics this week too and it crashed under it.
Graham.

I get "wifi error" upon startup. Wifi is not recognized, nor can i add my wifi manually.
Tried going back and forth between base ROM/kernel from this forum "VEGAn-TAB GingerEdition STABLE RC1" and the latest kernel (with the usual clear data/cache/davlik cache post-install). Base kernel has wifi no probs, but any later kernel and i get wifi errors
Tried to cycle airport mode, but nothing happens - just goes into disabling wifi networks and stays grayed out
Also tried to clear cache "before" flashing kernel, as suggested by member TEK112 in the same thread. Any help will be appreciated. thanks!

Usually wifi not working means you flashed the wrong kernel, but it sure looks like you got the right (gb) one. You sure you're on gingerbread?

hmm...wonder what's wrong then ?
I'm positive about Ginger edition though - Followed instructions from this forum - "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1031250"
Downloaded and installed "VEGAn-GE-7.0.0-RC1-Harmony-signed.zip" from http://vegantab.gojimi.com/downloads/
Home screen confirms Vegan-Tab GingerEdition - do not have the tablet with me at the moment, but can post "About Tablet" info later.
Sounds more like you forgot to take the lib-2632.39_gb.tar.gz from pershoot's webpage or failed to take the correct version of the lib. That lib tarball contains the bcm4329.ko (wifi driver kernel module). You have to untar the lib and adb push the bcm4329.ko driver to /system/lib/modules/, reboot after pushing the module over.
Try that and see if you have any better luck bringing up wifi with a newer pershoot kernel.

Thanks terrypchan...never played around with adb before, and couldn't get it to work last night, but will definitely give it a shot and post my results.
However, in previous version, when I had Vegan 5.1.1, and upgraded the kernel, i didn't have to go through the adb push of bcm4329.ko install. Even with the upgrade kernel for gingerbread7.0 (the noted issue here), there is base bcm4329.ko driver is already sitting under /system/lib/hw/wlan folder, so the adb push of this module under lib/modules will override the base ?

I've never needed to do that.
I'm wondering if he's stuck in airplane mode now that I've re-read his first post.
This is from the old version, but suggests that getting a widget that can toggle flight mode may fix it:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=951822&page=59
FYI - no need to use flight mode on a tablet, just turn off all the radios.

Can you tell me how to do that??
I am having exct same issue on Samsung Wave..
I'm on Gobstopper 2.3.4 and I've recently been modding my phone with faux123's OC kernel, juwe11's ram optimizer, the Webtop hdmi hack and so on, but I recently ran into a problem. Whenever I reboot my phone the widgets don't load and just display as "Problem Loading Widget" in LaucherPro. It might not be because of any of the mods, but it only started happening after I installed them so it's lead me to believe it might be one of them. Please help!!

Fix permissions with Rom Manager, or in CWM under advanced, then set up your widgets again. You shouldn't have problems after doing that.
I Also noticed in ADW if I installed a backup configuration within ADW I ran into this problem. If I loaded my widgets after re-loading ADW I did not run into this problem. Caelan's post is also spot on!
I just tried doing that and it came back up as "Problem Loading Widget". I'm using romracer's CWM. Would that make a difference? Should I flash tenfar's? Also, when it boots it seems to almost freeze for a second as my internal storage and sd card are being mounted and then I can slide the bar to unlock.

Fix permissions, reboot, then set up widgets again if you lose them. You shouldn't have any more problems unless you flash another ROM, and possibly another kernel.
Then just do the same thing again if you happen to do that.
This is probably stupid, but you don't have the Widgets installed on the sdcard do ya?
No I have nothing installed to SD. I just tried to fix my permissions and it didn't work CaelanT. They still don't show on a reboot. If I reflash my Gobstopper or another ROM would that work? Should I try fixing the permissions with tenfar's CWM instead of romracer's? Oh and there's a little vibration I feel when the phone boots up right before it displays the lockscreen. Is that normal?
UPDATE: I just noticed that every time I reboot my appwidgets.xml file gets reset!! Please someone help, nothing seems to be working...

Same problem here and only after faux's kernel...I tried all the fixes (fix permissions, wipe cache first before flashing kernel) and the only the thing that worked is to go back to the stock kernel.
Oh man, you may be on to something because EVERYTHING was working fine before last night when I flashed faux123's OC kernel. I'm gonna try and go back to stock and see. Thanks man!
Holy hell that worked!! Back on stock kernel and they are loading fine! I knew it had to be one of the modifications I recently did to my phone and it was the kernel after all. Thanks again!!
P.S. Show we contact faux123 and let him know that his kernel causes widget loading on boot issues?

Ok perfect then I'll just wait for his next version and hope that fixes the problem. I need his kernel to flash ROM's since I'm on a international phone. It's weird saying that since I'm just in Canada...

No problem man....yeah I've made some comments on the the kernel thread about the issue. Hopefully it gets fixed in an updated version.
in the kernel thread (dev) faux is asking INTL users about this issue, for INTL users on his 1.6 unified kernel. some report the widget issue, others do not. its the kernel causing. I am using unified OC 1.6 kernel and am lucky enough to have no issues, and WAY better batter life then stock kernel.
I also encountered this issue, however I don't have an international version of the Atrix.
Using 2.3.4 (pudding version for AT&T) with Alien ROM #4 and faux123's 1.6unified kernel.
Also using Launcher Pro.... I just reinstalled everything after doing a hard reset to try and isolate the problem, and it did occur after the kernel flash.
Same problem here, luckily I just reboot my phone few time a month..(why do I need a reboot, anyways?)
The widget is left blank white with Problem loading widget warning..
I'm not using an INT Atrix, only AT&T (I don't know if there's any other Atrix version) using faux123 1.6, piecrust, romracer cwm ..
any luck, guys?
would there be an update of 1.8 of faux?
I think I'm going partially nuts over this problem. I have tried every thing mentioned in any post. Fix permissions with different CWM's.
I thought was going to win today today when I formatted everything, installed gobstopper 2.3.4 w/ deodex update then setting up my screens with ADW it glitched and would go to the screen preview whenever I touched the screen. a reboot and those damn black boxes are all over the place.
Order of operations:
- format internal/external
- factory reset
- fastboot flashed tenfars CWM which wouldn't mount the internal sd so I couldn't flash
- fastboot erase/flash romracers CWM
- installed Gobstopper 2.3.4
- reboot and used it for an hour or so to let it level out
- installed the deodex update
- reboot and another hour of use with a bunch of reboots to make sure everything was cool (it was)
- used Diviances EXT4 User Journal script
- used it for a few more hours without issue
- installed ADW Ex and while setting up my screens it glitches and goes to the screen preview with every touch.
- reboot... no widgets with a string of expletives
so now what...
Same problem here. I am using latest Aura Rom with latest faux Kernel for International users.
I did everything: Wiped cache, reseted factory, installed rom again, changed kernel to older versions, stock versions, fixed permissions and always lose my widgets configs after a reboot.
Hello everyone!
First post, sucks that it has to be a problem that I'm having.
Anyways, I just installed (or flashed I think is the correct term) the newest BeastMOD ROM and also flashed the kernel using Easy Kernel Flasher V3.
I can't get MMS pictures to send.
I did a search and it seems to me that Xboarder already fixed the problem with this release, but I can't seem to get it working for me.
I flashed the kernel a couple times and rebooted more than a couple times, and under "Software information" it says under kernel:
2.6.35.13-g52e85af
[email protected]#1
SMP PREEMPT Wed Oct 26 21:56:13 CST 2011
Any help is greatly appreciate!
Thanks everyone,
Joel
I could be mistaken, but I believe that is the stock kernel. In other words, the kernel flashing didn't take. I would start there and hopefully that is your problem with an easy fix.
Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using XDA App
Using the "Easy Kernel Flasher V3"
This is what I'm doing:
I make sure USB debugging is click on, connect to PC.
I downloaded the kernel and placed it in "Kernel-Here" Folder
Double click Flash (i'm on windows)
Then let the phone reboot into that white screen and it restarts on it's own.
I've heard to do this a couple times and reboot a couple times as well.
What am I doing wrong?
It sounds like you are doing everything right when it comes to flashing the kernel. I could definitely be wrong about that and was hoping someone else would chime in and confirm either way.
Did you do a complete wipe before installing the ROM? Data/Factory, Cache, Dalvik, etc.
Edit: Found another possible solution. Check your APN settings. View this post for info on what it should look like http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21240663&postcount=1197
I did clear Dalvik cache, wiped to factory etc before flashing ROM.
I checked APNs and tried different settings that others suggested with T-Mobile.
it turns out that I had to clear the data in the messaging app under manage applications.
MMS works fine now.
thanks for your help!
now...about the kernel... hmmm.
Awesome. Glad you were able to figure it out. As for the kernel, like I said, I could be wrong. I'm assuming somewhere in the thread for the BeastMod ROM it will detail what the info should read for that particular kernel. If WiFi and everything seems to work then it is probably the right one.
Hello. I have a Galaxy 10.1, GT-P7510, rooted, currently running Android 4.0.4, Kernel 3.1.10, Build number Task650's ICS.
I'm frustrated because it does not have an option to connect to PC using mass storage. It only has MTP and PTP. My computer is Ubuntu 12.04, which has really bad support for MTP and PTP.
I would like to upgrade to Jelly Bean, and I think I might like to use the Cyanogenmod 10. I've looked on the forum and from what I can see the CM10 and other Jelly Bean Roms have a USB mas storage option. Also, there is suggestion that it would be faster and better than what I have now.
However, recently when upgrading my phone (Galaxy s2), I discovered that if one doesn't have the exact right kernel and ROM, it can cause all sorts of problems.
So I want to do this slowly and get it right. What makes me nervous about the Cyanogenmod 10 ROMs available on Droid Basement, the word "experimental" is written everywhere. I don't want to experiment with anything, I'm looking for stability.
Also, there seem to be different options for P4WIFI, P4VZW, P4TMO, P4, and P3, but I don't know what those mean and how they apply to my tablet.
So, bottom line: what is the right ROM and kernel for me? And can I just go ahead and flash them without any additional configurations or installations?
Thanks for any advice.

This is a pretty easy question finally.. so just download the recovery.tar and bootloader 4_0_4 from droidbasement and flash it on odin via the PDA section, then download the EXPERIMENTAL build and flash it, once you flashed this built ( before flash wipe date/cashe/dalvik) go to your settings > sorth updates > new version, click on the upper right corner refresh, and then several builds will show up what look like: ' CM-10-20121216-nightly' , download the newest date by pressing on the download button right, wait till it's downloaded, let it update your tab, this wil take some time, and your tablet will be faster than ever before, that's one of the stablest builds i ever used! Started from the experimental builds...

Ohh.. and uhm...forgot to mention... the GT-P7510 is the p4wifi

Or i'll make it more simple for you. But you still have to flash the bootloader and recovery from droidbasement, but don't download the experimental ROM, instead of that, go to http://get.cm/?device=p4wifi and install the latest CM10, so you do not have to update to a very stable version anymore, everything works very smooth, you can oc to 1400 mhz, and i'm using cm10 rom's now since they came out with cm10, i never ran into big issues and everything is well explained in the development section

Thank you for responding.
I was a bit confused at first about how to get the bootloader on my Tab, but I worked it out.
Now I've got the latest Cyanogenmod, Android 4.1.2, and it's nice, but...
Unfortunately it seems there is still not a USB mass storage option. At least not that I can see.
Is there a way I can get a USB mass storage option on my Galaxy Tab 10.1?
How did you find cm 10 coming from ics?

Mmh i think no ROM has mass storage enabled for the galaxy tab, i know on several devices CM10 has mass storage build-in:
su (press enter)
setprop persist.sys.usb.config mass_storage (press enter)
reboot (press enter)
I don't think it'll work for the Gtab 10.1 but you can try it, if it doesn't work and connect to your pc go back to settings > mass storage > 3 dots upper right corner > connect to PC
Maybe you can ask pershoot to add this if this code doesn't work

Unfortunately, it seems I spoke too soon about Cyanogenmod 10 being nice. It seemed to be running fine yesterday, but today I am having nothing but problems.
None of the Google apps work (I installed the latest Gapps zip... I think). I keep getting an error saying that "Exchange server has stopped". And my Cyanogen ROM manager app won't work. It's kind of a mess.
Damn... this is exactly what I wanted to avoid - going round and round in circles trying to get a stable version of Jelly Bean on my tablet.
Where can I get a stable, working, reliable ROM, kernel, and Google Apps?

Thank you for the commands and suggestions, but as mentioned in my other post, this ROM doesn't seem to be working for me as smoothly as I first thought.
First I'll see if I can get a stable ROM, kernel, and Google Apps, and then I will try your commands.
If you have a suggestion on where I can get stable versions, please let me know.

You can oc your device to 1.4 mhz if it doesn't work smooth enough for you, another very smooth ROM I can suggest is
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1932474
Or still www.get.cm

Thanks, but I think you and I have different definitions of "smooth". I'm not particularly bothered about overclocking and speed. I just want apps that open and run, and no error messages.
However, on the upside, I think I may have fixed it. I think the problem was that I accidentally downloaded the wrong gapps.zip for my ROM.
Anyway, I'm currently restoring some apps via Titanium Backup. When that is complete, I'll try the previously suggested USB mass storage fix.
Q&A for [ROM][4.4.4][YP-G70] Carbon ROM For Galaxy Player 5 [METICULUS]

Placing your question within this thread will increase its chances of being answered by a member of the community or by the developer. Thanks for understanding and for helping to keep XDA neat and tidy!
Encryption possible on Carbon ROM 4.4.4 for the YP-G70?
I have installed and love the Carbon ROM 4.4.4 (10012014 version) on my YP-G70. Problem: When I try to encrypt the Android logo appears (green droid) as a splash screen with no text at all, and encryption does not start. In fact nothing is happening and it is possible to return to normal use. The forum will not yet let me post links but the symptoms are identical to a thread on forum.cyanogenmod.org where the problem is diagnosed as the filesystem cannot extend into the last 16 Kbytes of the partition where the crypto footer is kept. However, when I followed this line I soon concluded that following the advised solution (subtract few Kbytes (more than 16) off the /data partition and redo the partition) does not work for me because LVM is implemented in this ROM and my data partition is therefore /dev/lvpool/data (and does not appear with the ~ # cat /proc/partitions command anyway).
I've googled and not found a way round this. Can anybody help me? If it is not possible to encrypt in this ROM, I've also read (another link I can't post) on github where Meticulus discusses reverting to a pre LVM ROM. Any suggestions on what sort of compatible recent ROM I could try that would contain a kernel not use LVM? This seems to be a pretty obscure subject and I much appreciate any help.
Thanks

I can't say much about device encryption; never tried it and don't want to. However I can say a couple things about LVM that might help you.
LVM was not implemented until KitKat, so any custom ROM before KitKat will not have LVM
The LVM binary is located at /lvm/sbin/lvm and if I remember correctly there are commands you can issue to resize an lvm partition (Google the lvm man page if you want to try it) and (if indeed that is the actual problem)
Good luck

I just wanted to say thanks for this. I went back to your Slim Bean ROM and tried to change the partitions per the research I had done but after much work only succeeded in soft bricking the device. Anyway, I wanted to let you know I ended up in exactly the same situation as the guy in this thread you responded to forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2609692 with an inability to re-flash your slim bean or carbon (status 7 errors in CWM and failure to mount/format sdcard, data and emmc) in spite of having the exact fdisk partition table as his. I followed the steps you suggested in that thread including going back to stock and eventually, like the poster, ended up with Android System Recovery <3e> and a bunch of failed to mount cache errors. I kept trying to reflash Entrophy512's Daily Driver in Odin but to make matters worse the device wasn't charging - just getting hot - so it was cycling and I think preventing a good flash of anything. Eventually I did get that flashed and the device began charging properly, then booted to Samsung stock. However, it still wouldn't recognize the internal storage sdcard and wouldn't mount or format it. Attempts to flash your slim bean still failed with status 7 errors.
So, like that poster, I then tried flashing CM (I used CM9 figuring the older the better). Lo and behold, that flashed and when it booted there was a pause while it said "preparing sdcard", then when it finished I had my 5GB internal storage back. Then I was able to flash your Slim Bean and Carbon as usual - completely repaired.
To get to the point, I just thought you might be interested to know that there do seem to be times when a flash of CM may repair some partition related matters, I have absolutely no idea why, but thought it might help you to know... As for encryption, I may consign that one to the long term list for now (CM didn't seem to allow that either)!
Most importantly, thanks again for all the great work, websites, forum help and quick responses!
Kevin
compass
For me, everything is working fine. Only compass is not working. Any idea what could be the reason?
About BCMON
Do Bcmon supported this device because it has a broadcom chipset. I already installed bcmon.apk , open it and enabled monitor mode, freezes for like 10 seconds and it doesnt work. It stays in enable monitor mode also the Wi.Fi doesnt turn on now when I open "monitor mode", need to restart to fix the problem. Anyway the bug has to do with the rom compatibility ? or the device of broadcom ? Can you fix this please ?
The latest build had great battery life.

Whick kernel to use ??
Can u please tell me that which kernel do we have to use with your carbon rom build CARBON-KK-UNOFFICIAL-20141022-1740-venturi.zip . i currently have rj's custom kernel v 14 and when i tried to flash it my player got stuck in infinite bootloop . The only thing i can acces now is cwm recovery and Download mode. Can you please reply and also tell how can i exit the bootloop. Thank you very much. Also, i have SGP 5.0 with physical home button so i guess its the internation version only.
I always use the kernel provided with the ROM, it's tested and tried by the developer.

I might be a little late to the party, but did you wipe the cache partition, perform a factory reset, wipe Dalvik cache, and then install the latest stable Carbon build? The kernel that the newest stable Carbon build, Nutella Kernel, is unified with the build, so flashing it is like a 2 - in - 1 flash. Remember to get the latest Mini Modular Package version of PA GApps for 4.4.x!

Could your EGL_BAD_ALLOC error be due to a mismatch between the driver version and the gralloc library version. Building against the correct version may solve the problem

I don't think so, both gralloc and the graphics blob are not built, they are prebuilt.

I did the Carbon mod and it seems buggy to me so i wanna go back to the factory settings and sell the player
I have galaxy player 5.0 . I cant get odin to recognize the player . I downloaded the samsumg drivers many times still wont see it . debugging is off . I cant find setting to see it the player is in Kies mode in this CARBON MOD . >
If I could get a tutorial or link to restore to factory rom I would appreciate it TY
Oh and I did find the factory rom page . just no instructions on how to make it work.

If you go back through the previous few posts you will see that I did various experiments trying to get the player encrypted and at various stages had to get back to stock from some really nasty positions. I had to be really really persistent with Odin then - I had the device apparently power cycling so it was not awake long enough to work I guess. I just had to try over and over. Also you may like to try installing the Dr Wondershare (recovery file tool) on your just because this will install different drivers for the device which worked better for me: the tool is a free download/install, you only pay if you need the recovery aspects so it's worth a try. Obviously if odin doesn't work put in download mode (hold voldown and then power on)... Good luck. I got through it and reflashed Carbon (I'm now using the player as a remote control for Foobar2000 and Windows Media Center on my HTPC).

ok the main issue I have is I tried to do a factory reset and erased cache and all that and rebooted into a soft BRICK lol .. took me 2 days of googlin to find one-click unbrick and to learn how to use ubuntu and it worked the first try . It rebooted like normal . Now the issues after all this .. The data cable will not recognize the player to download anything . AND the cable will not charge the player unless I reboot it with cable installed. ALSO if I power down all the way and hook the data cable up the player reboots instead of staying powered off and charging.
Ill look into Dr wondershare . see if that helps any .. Thanks Ed
