The back cover of my GS3 is loose on one of the hooks and does not click in properly. Also, there are multiple hairline fractures running down the top half of the cover. Has anyone else experienced this? And can I get the back cover replaced without sending in the whole phone?

One of my pins doesn't go down correctly either. I've been holding off on getting a new one because I should be getting my case today. It's hardly noticeable but enough to bother me

Top left corner...(looking at the screen)...lifts off when I try to remove my case. Not sure if it's because it's not secure...or if it's because the case is on it so tight.

does anyone else have a tiny dot to the upper left of the two tiny holes above the flash on the back cover of their thunderbolt? it looks like someone took a pin and poked the phone next to these two tiny holes making a third hole that shouldn't be there. ive been really careful with my phone until my case arrives so i doubt i caused this.

I only see two holes above my flash =/

hmm thanks for checking. i had my phone in the sunlight and noticed it. almost looks like a machine/molding type issue but i guess there's a very very slight chance i caused it... doubt it though

I would like to carry replacement batteries with me and I was wondering what is the best way to remove the back cover? I see that there are two areas to be concerned about...power button and camera area. Any thoughts?
I run my finger nail around the edge of the battery cover until all the clips are undone then it just falls off basically.

That's what I do also...a friend took the back off and his power switch took a snap and now it is hard to power on and off. On the old EVO not a problem. The new back looks kinda sensitive. I will keep on doing it like this. Somebody else suggested get the bottom loose and open it like a book..

Bummer, I've seen no problems with it. I just pop it up from the slot on the bottom, jiggle lightly and it just falls off. IMO it's far superior to the noisy mal-fitting cover from the DINC, but then again that's the only phone I ever had a cover issue with.
What i hope will happen is that the back will eventualy just easily come off from constant opening. I had a couple of batteries on my old EVO and charge the batteries on the wall..never had problems and was always powered up. When i get home tonight..I am really going to take a look at the back to see if I could make life easier. I always have a hard cover on it and the back popping off is no big deal. But the design on of the power switch and a removable battery makes the current design a Achilles tendon on a powerhouse of a phone. The extended batteries currently out are just butt ugly and would prefer a slimmer look.

Why? It fits good, doesn't make noise, and looks nice. Sure its kinda hard to get off but that's a plus in my book!

Part of my back cover won't keep snapped in around the area behind the power button. I've tried reseating many times. Same spot won't stay snapped.

Exchange the phone or ask for a new OEM cover under warranty. Don't "muk about", do you know the new for new exchange period?
Maybe test with another cover (from store) to confirm it's actually the cover, and not the phone.

Have a look and see if there any bent tabs on the cover. If there is, see if you can carefully straighten them.

I have this same problem but around the volume button area. It is not worth in my opinion to send back the phone. But so annoying!!!! Anyone managed to get a replacement cover from Samsung??? Maybe someone has an easy fix for the problem?
My ear speaker went out and cash short (to buy a phone full price to maintain VZ unlimited) so replaced it myself for $5. Now the screen has banding of lines on the top half and is fuzzy like half of the pixels are not working. I suspected the ribbon cable for the screen came loose so seated it firmly (didn't remove it to repair the speaker) but no luck.
Is this damage from perhaps twisting the screen in the process to get the frame off of it or typical ribbon cable issue?

Sounds to me like the damage was caused either when you twisted the screen to get the frame off or maybe something didn't get fully tightened back down and is applying some pressure into the back of the LCD... causing this to happen.
I doubt it would be a ribbon cable issue.

Thanks RB. I think then I did it taking it apart the frame was hell to get off.
Not sure what to do not a good time to get a new screen. Maybe I can get a follower who moved on to new phone to send their old bolt along for parts.

Hope you get it figured out man.
Those LCDs aren't cheap for this phone.
I use an exacto knife and heat to separate adhesives, but I know not everyone has an exacto knife. Just for future reference, you can pick them up pretty much anywhere in the art section for only a few bucks. I highly recommend them when replacing parts.
Good luck finding another LCD.

Either that or buy a screen with the toolkit. I watched videos of the people with the toolkit and it helps tremendously. Plus, it's made of plastic so there is less of a chance to mess the new one up when you install it.

My back is a little squeaky and was wondering if anyone knew where to purchase a replacement back. Ive found everything from full front housing, screen and digitizer but cant find the back.
The second one that I sent back due to manufacture problems had that squeaky fat back issue I just called AT&T told them that the glue that's holding the back glass on is coming apart -disintegrating- and eventually the phone will come completely apart. they sent me a new one no problem. Manufactures warranty is a year no one had it longer than that. get yourself a new phone.
