[GUIDE] Step-by-step instructions for debranding and HSPL for AT&T Titans
If you have a debranded International Version then just follow the DFT Thread
[DFT] HSPL for HTC WP7 Second Generation
Edit: alright that was a really bad question what my questions is. When it says debranding the phone do i use the HTC Eternity EU official rom 1.09.401.02? Then replace that one with the one in the HSPL rar?
Cloudsdabomb said:

To Debrand an AT&T Titan, Yes. Some claim it won't make a difference, but if you do have an AT&T titan it's better to debrand it now like that all the AT&T crap is gone and if you get stuck on SPL2.5 atlease your running an international rom.
okay so i run through with the European rom and then with the eternity in the RAR? Then run HSPl and then load up dynamics?

Yes.
Flash the Europe ROM you have.
Then once done verify in the bootloader that your SPL was changed just so you know.
Then attemp the steps pointed out in the Threads i posted.
Flash DFT SPL 2.5
Run HSPL.
Go over the threads just to make sure you have everything after each step.
Thank you very much! Yeah im reading them over while this 410 MB download is going. I didn't want to make a silly mistake so thank you on such a quick reply! And last question is it okay to plug the usb of the Y cable into the charger and plug that into the wall?

Yea its fine... Only reason why a Y-Cable gets connected to a Computer is so the usb devices(goldcard) has power to turn on since the Phone itself doesn't provide it. So whether you plug it to a PC or the wall its the same thing.
Oh okay, so when all is done is the custom rom done through the gold card too?
And also what custom rom would you recommend or are they mostly all the same?

Im using a usb flashdrive instead of a micro sd card and the phone is just still in Enter usb mode... could it be because of the flash drive?

Could be. I personally used SanDisk flash drives... One works while the other doesn't.
Try formatting and Patching it with the GoldCard tool and make sure whatever your trying to flash is "" ETERIMG.nbh" with not else on the flashdrive but that file. If it still doesn't work try another usb cable.
I guess ill wait for my micro sd card reader to come in. And btw my SPL is 1.10... Should I still go ahead and debrand?

I just got my micro sd card reader and i set everything up and it still just say enter USB Host mode...

Try flashing from an SD card.
the only way i can access my sd card is through phone i get an error 262 when i try and use the recovery of the sspl rom flasher
Buy a card reader. Read the wiki; it explains everything.
its not letting me flash using the sd card says loading then goes back to bootloader
1) Use card reader to format the card in FAT32
2) Copy the .nbh file as HERMIMG.nbh to the root of the card.
did that now it says loading the goes back to the boot loader
or: Practice safe flashing techniques:
usb connect to rear usb port no usb hubs
screensaver/sleep mode off
pc running windows XP
close all other programs & refrain from using your PC for the 20 or 25 minutes it will take to flash

Ouch. I don't know what to tell you.
I thought as long as you just flash boot screens and OS you were fairly safe from bricks... I guess you got the raw end of that deal.
I wish I could help more. You might try the Linux RUU flashing tool pof made. That might work...

it does that but what i didn't see before is right before it returns to bootloader it shows those numbers.

just flash a full shipped rom (signed with proper key), if your device is not SuperCID then it must match your CID too.
i've tried
keep getting error 262 in hermes rom update utility
I see in your signature you have a 8525, are you trying to flash a full shipped cingular's rom?
edit: i tried to flash xda .2 and it hung now I am willing to flash anything that will unbrick my phone. So far the rom from htc is working.
yes,, I am downloading the one for the cingular 8525 from htc right now and am going to try that
Am I missing something here?
yes, the shipped cingular rom will work on your phone, as it is signed and matches your cid, no worries.
xda-live is not signed with the proper cert, that's why bootloader won't accept it...
this time I am going to cid unlock it since I am haveing to start over anyways
This device was purchased new aprox. 6 weeks ago.
I flashed HSPL1 and updated the radio to Leo_RADIO_2.07.50.27_2
Then flashed Energy rom of my choice. via custom ruu.
I flashed lots of roms or the course of several weeks and have lots of prior experiance with custom rom flashing on many devices so this was nothing new.
The device worked great for this long and then yesterday updated Rom to
Energy Rom July 1.
When the device was finished flashing it auto started in the Bootloader screen.
I tried redownloading the rom and reflashing. Still started in bootloader.
Tried reflashing to previous working rom but it still started in bootloader.
Next I did a task 29 "format"
downloaded an official rom. RUU_Leo_Telstra_WWE_1.72.841.0_Radio_CRC_Signed_15.32.50.07U_2.07.51.22_2_Ship
Extracted the .nbh to a freshly formated FAT32 2gig mem card and reflashed via mem card.
The screen showed the progress like normal and the flash displayed "Successful".
When I rebooted the device it once again started in Bootloader.
This time:
PB81110 HX-BC
SPL-1.66.0000 XE
MicroP(LED) 0x05
MicroP(TOUCH) 0x40
so I am pretty sure that the bootloader and possibly radio and rom are correctly flashed but something is making it start in bootloader.
Any thoughts??
sticky 'down vol' button? try holding just 'vol up', , see if it starts a hard reset, , if it does then you know the vol down button was registering as pressed.

Only time I can make my phone do that is a) I've just done a task29 and there just isn't anything to load, b) I've flashed a rom incompatible with the radio currently installed or vice versa. So the flashes can be all fine but something is just stopping it at the door. Hmph, wish I had the silver bullet for ya bro. Best of luck.

it is my understanding that you are not suppose to use HPSL2 on the Telstra, you can use HSPL or HSPL3, did you mean to say you use 1 or 3?

Yes I meant to say 1.
I also tried both versions of 3.
it is back to spl now though since I flashed the offical rom. which has the radio included as indicated in forst post.
Thanks for all your good ideas I am trying them as you send them this way.
I am thinking if may be a hardware issue but am trying what I can before sending it in.
BTW the mem card I am using is SanDisk 2GB.
Does anyone think after reading previous posts that I should go out and buy a different card "just to try"?
no, you shouldnt need to use sd card at all. Ive only used sd card with this phone once, and that was just to test removing hspl 1.42 6 months ago.
You dont have hspl installed and the stock rom should flash over usb anyway. (You have tried that, right? boot to bootloader, connect usb, run the telstra .exe)

Yes it flashes normal over usb using RUU exe file. Everything looks normal until it reboots. Then it starts in Bootloader.
Have you checked if the ROMs you downloaded were complete? Are you sure they weren't corrupt? Tried flashing a generic WWE ROM? Also, flashing via USB is apparently a better flashing method than MicroSD.

I am unfamiliar with how to check if the rom download is complete. However, I tried flashing roms that were working on the device before and that i still have on my PC with the same results. I tried several custom roms and official htc rom. along with a WWE rom.
Still no Joy.

I have the Telstra version myself and I HSPL (number 1) always use the USB method and have never had any issues.
One thing I did do, I flashed an official HTC non-Telstra version first. Then I flashed just a radio. Then I flashed Miri's ROM and everything worked. I have flashed Miri's version from 1 to 17.5 all using USB
you may want to try a different PC, I have heard of people who did this and it worked for them

Restart after flash with no card in slot has this result.
first screen is "Restore Waiting for completed" with progress bar that completes in aprox 3 sec.
the next screen is "Restore.....Completed
Press VolUp to boot
I press VolUp and the bootloader appears again Thanks for the idea.
I will keep trying to work on this untill tue which is the next time the mail runs here. Will probably have to ship it to HTC CS to get it fixed. I am thinking something is wrong in the hardware.

but just for the sake of trying, try holding the UP and Down at the some time when powering on, I know that is supposed to only do a hard reset, but maybe it will kick it off ....
anything is worth a shot at this point ....
At first it was endlessly stuck on the HTC screen, then I flashed this rom using USB
http://www.vbnfiles.com/xda/xmoo/Leo/TMOUS/ 2nd one in the list. Then it was stuck on the T-Mobile Stick together, this is a test version screen. THEN I did Task 29, and now any besides that one gets stuck on 99%. Please help guys thanks!
And I can't flash through MicroSD, i only have one 2GB card and I already tried it, it wont work. And I can still go into bootloader.

It was showing HSPL. I tried a 4GB and it worked! It was back to the stick together screen, and stuck there. Then I tried doing it through PC, and now Task 29 gets stuck, PC flash fails at 8%, and flashing through MicroSD says RSA Fail. The SPL is now just SPL.

Hi
Do the following or you might brick your device by using Microsd flashing.
1. Get in to the booloader
2. Run HSPL2 and select the HSPL version you like
3. when got the Hacked it message
4. Then get into bootloader again
5. Flash any custom rom
6. Again get into bootloader
7. flash one of a radio version 2.(08 or 09 or 10 or 11 or 12).50
it will do the trick. Looks like you have the wrong radio version
Good luck

Yeah I switched HSPL2 for HSPL3. But otherwise I followed them word to word.
What is this madness. It works on a random reset, then crashes after a while. Whats going on?
Im with vodafone and my hd2's usb fried and when i tried to get it fixed they wanted me to pay for an whole motherboard so i chose not to. But atm the latest update from vodafone has a low radio firmware so i cant run android so wondered if someone can help me flash an another rom using micro sd.
You could try to flash using de SD card method.
Ive tried that but it only allows vodafone firmware and the latest was 1.72 which doesnt have the required radio to run android.
Only if there was a way to install hardspl without an cable
Do you think thats possible?
I am no flash export. But I would think that I would be feasible. I suggest to try and use the search function here.
Good luck
no, hspl is not possible without usb.
your options are goldcard or sspl.
sspl cannot be used to flash radio's, and goldcard will only flash stock roms, so to get android you will need to use goldcard to flash a stock rom with the radio you want , then use sspl if you want a different rom.
thanks for the reply i checked the goldcard method doesnt that require me to connect the phone through usb to read the serial of the microsd or can i use my other phone which has a microsd slot to find the serial

care to share your wisdom?
I have the same questions...
uh. sure.. Basically you'll need to order 3 things from Amazon or ebay:
1. female-usb to female-usb switcher
2. Y cable
3. Micro sd reader ( assuming you have a micro sd card)..
When you get all those, make your goldcard like they did here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1597837
Follow the steps here starting from step 4(IN FIRST COMMENT, NOT ORIGINAL POST), the rest should be okay.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1684912
After doing the 10 steps, you can flash any custom ROM you want. All you need to do is put your phone in bootloader mode and use the ROMUPDATEUTILITY.exe that is usually attached with the ROM.
My step by step. Is it correct?

Hi DarkSeL and others!!!
I have a HTC Radar 4G (t-mobile) too. I bought it used on ebay because it was unlocked and i can use it in my country (Spain). Yesterday, I wrote a post but i'm not having any luck with answers.
So, to the point. I have been seeing how fully unlock (jailbreak) and i'm a little confused because there are contradictions.
In my bootloader screen appears this
PI060110
SPL-2.4.1600015
Radio-16.23.05.13_2
I think that my step by step would be this, but I would like OK before starting.
1.- Downgrade to SPL 2.05. I can follow this tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1597837 , but i'm not sure what .nbh image use. Any image is valid? Are there diferences between european and american versions? (this is my main question)
2.- Install HSPL with DFT tutorial. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1684912
3.- Find some custom rom based on WP 7.8
Any mistake?
Sorry for my english!!!
