maybe you don't have the busybox installed...
I did root my x10 using z4root permenant rooting and busy box was ok and xrecovery worked fine automatically..
used the custom rom freedom 8b and back to the original SE rom ,, which amazed me great work,,
now I used the custom rom black freedom 7a and the xrecovery wont install either automatically nor manually !! am kinda stuck with this rom,, tried rerooting and rebooted million times..
If anyone can help would be grateful
Thanks
manually copy the 3 files (chargemon, xrecovery, etc) into the /system/bin folder and make sure that you have the version of busybox from the market installed.
to manually copy these files u will need root explorer and make sure that you are mounted in RW mode.
I just did that and it works! Woo hoo!! Runs a treat with linpack around 33, still hasn't fixed the stuttering audio but hoping se will sort that in next update... fingers crossed

Xrecovery not working after latest stock rom
Xrecovery is definitely not working on my X10i after I stupidly re-installed the latest stock Rom... I have done all the normal steps and it now does not work... I have previously had various roms on this phone and now Xrecovery is not working im worried I'm stuck with the stock rom. Now don't ask me to press the back button and copy the files into the System folder...I've done all that I'm telling you there is something in the latest stock rom to block it in my opinion.

I just flashed this ROM but the only issue is that after I install the 2nd HotFix, it doesn't show any ICS layout changes.
I don't understand why.
Anyone got an idea?
i had the same issue, so i reflashed everything again(including the wipe and cache wiping) without flashing hotfix2 for the second time. and it worked
Worth it?

I have set up everything already and all. Is it worth it to do all that again? Does it have the ICS theme?

for me, the theme started working properly after doing a second install, just did the steps over again and it worked pretty well for me. i don't know how or why, but it worked for me, also note that i didn't install the hotfix 2 on the second install.
The ROM has been updated to v1.2.4, so maybe worth giving that a try?

DISCLAIMER:-I'm not responsible for bricked or problems arising from this fix do this at your own risk.
It's rather simple. Just follow the steps.
Pre-requisites:-
1.Rooted and unlocked bootloader.
3.ES file explorer with root access.
4.Stock kernel
5.Brains.(if you missed that there was '2' missing)
Method:
Open ES FILE explorer.
Go to 'device /'
Set path / and /system to rw from ro in mount rw menu
open system
open etc
scroll down till you find 'mixer_paths.xms'
open it with ES note editor
find and edit
<ctl name="RX3 Digital Volume" value="84" /> SET VALUE TO 91 From 84
scroll down
find and edit
<ctl name="Speaker Boost" value="DISABLE" /> CHANGE IT TO "ENABLE"
press the arrow on top left and save. then reboot
and dont forget to thank.

This is just an temporary workaround. Do this on your own risk. However, i have been using value 89 for RX3, no issues so far.
This thread should be on General section, Mods please move it.

are you on stock kernel?
you need to be on stock rom as well as stock kernel. if you weren't then i cant guarantee things. use ES file explorer to change the permission to r/w from ro and change it back again as well.
if not reflash the stock rom.

Hi @oemaritradey,
This same method had worked on my previous smartphone (Redmi 1s), and expectedly, works on Yureka as well. I have published a detailed guide (and a video) based on this method on my blog here: http://www.droidiser.com/2012/04/rooting-your-android-device.html
Just thought it would make sense to post about it in this thread.
