hi there
can i flash the international sgs3 by odin to sgs3 att
and thanx for help
Sure,
if you want a nice new shiny BRICK!
read around, and learn a little bit here man....its pretty much plastered ALL over these GS3 forums NOT to do stupid stuff like flashing international 9300 stuff on your american carrier phone....
you should probably just sit back and read for a few days instead of flashing/doing anything to your phone.
People don't learn around here.

For christmas, I may sell my SGS2 and get a Galaxy Nexus...
Thing is, shall I wait until the SGS3 is out, or go for the Galaxy Nexus now?
What are the pros/cons of getting a GN?
What are the pros/cons of getting an SGS3?
What do you guys think would be better?

After watching this video, I guess it would be best to get a Galaxy Nexus ASAP.

Hi, I just bought a galaxy note on Craigslist. If the price is too good to be true, IT USUALLY IS. The note listed as an international unlock model but it actually a Korean version (Shv e160r). Now I'm can not get data to work with the phone. I do some searching and root the phone with terkger kernel but can not find anything on custom rom so my question is
Can I flash the AT&T version or the n7000 custom rom?
There are some Korean app that I can get rid off. Even though I change to the English language the phone dailer still show some Korean letter. There is an antenna on the right top corner of the phone but don't know what is it use for. How much do you think I can get if I sell on eBay? Paid 400 for this piece of sh*t and can't even use it. Please help!!!
Have you tried unlocking the phone????

How? Should I try cellunlocker.net?
Try flashing another rom from the American note just backup before you do worst that can happen not all system apps work on that specific rom

Your crazy to have spent that much money on Craigslist for something I can only assume had to be shipped to you. While were at it I have a private island in the Bahamas to sell ya.

Dams, I know but I love This phone so much. My sister have it and I fell in love with the size of the screen.
Craigslist is best used for face to face transactions, if you want something shipped to you use ebay. I bought my note from someone on craigslist, played with it for a few minutes and was hooked....

Try to trade it to someone on XDA. Be honest and tell them your situation. I am sure if its a new device someone will trade you.

Well if you actually used XDA instead of the forums you would know we have a Marketplace on here http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1322. Just make a thread in the Marketplace tellin everyone you want to trade your version for the AT&T or International version. If its new make sure you tell everyone its new and also what color the device is. Also do not try any roms for the Note i717 or the International Note cause they will not work on your version. There are no custom roms for the Korean version but you can root it. Also I would put your device on Ebay or Craigslist too in case nobody trades you on here you can sell it on one of those sites.
Is it an actually really note?
You probably got a clone note.

Its a real Note its just the Korean version. The Korean Version looks like the so called Internation Note but has LTE like our AT&T Notes and I am pretty sure the Korean version comes with recovery built in to it but there is no custom roms yet for the Korean version. There is also a Berry Pink Korean Note which makes it stand out. Its a great device just like all the Nptes there is just not a lot of development going on for it.
you should have gone in to ATT or Tmobile store and siged a new contract or upgrade your current either way you would have paid almost the same since the note has dropped to $249 with a 2yr agreement. I paid like $350 with the lether flap when it just came out.
So there is no custom rom that you guys know that will work with this shv e160k.

There are no custom roms but I would be willing to make a rom if I had the SHV-E160 model of the NOTE. I have the I717 and if I can get the money to purchase the Korean version I will see about making a custom rom. I will take donations.
Helpfull link?
This thread has some info that might be of some use.

No I do not wanna trade but if I can get enough money to get the Korean version I will try developing a custom rom for it. There is basically nobody doing anything with the Korean version but I am interested in the device. The Korean version is a bit different than the other Notes and I like what it has to offer so when I get one I will be developing for it.
Hey guys, I'm coming from an i777/iPhone 4S and I'm extremely excited for this device to come in. I'm going to keep it stock rooted for a few day I think, but after that, what do you guys think I should flash? Thanks ahead of time!

If GN means galaxy nexus I would suggest that forum but even then the best answer would be to look in the correct forum and then flash various Roms and pick the best one that suits u

Hi,
I just gotten a new Galaxy S3 from AT&T and I decided to root the phone and wanted to flash it with a cuztomized ROM. My phone was successfully rooted and I tried flashing Android Revolution HD ROM ( a cuztomized rom from xda). Right after the phone done flashing the rom and was trying to reboot, it did not boot or turn on. I cannot even start the phone. The phone was just not gonna startup no matter what I did. I could not even go into the recovery mode or download mode so I could not do anything to fix it. Anyone can help me with this? Thanks.
I think you didn't read this
American or Canadian SGS3? Read this before flashing or posting!

You have a another version of the s3 (US version) with a different hardware
This is the international S3 GT-I9300 and yours are SGH-I747
So you flashed a firmware without making sure it was for your device...ouch. Any sign of life? .. any vibrate when trying to power on?

Sounds like a brick .. sorry mate.
Well I think you might be able to get away with telling em you were doing an update through kies and the cord got yanked by your cat halfway through... or send it to someone for JTAG. There's a couple reputable buisnesses that do this and with a fast turnaround and relatively low cost considering the cost of the device.. maybe somewhere around $50 bucks (just a ballpark.. could be 60.. beats me) user connexion2005 does JTAG and I believe he has support for the S3!
..but lesson learned. Read, Read, Read .. I am sure the OP of the ROM you flash states plain and clear which device it's for. You need to know which device you have and are modding, and not by its generic name.. "GalaxyS3 international variant is an GT-i9300" .. not sure what the at&t variant is but its not GT-i9300
*edit* actually it doesn't state it in the OP that its for the GT-i9300 variant ... but it is in the GT-i9300 forum.

I guess I will go for an exchange first since I just gotten the phone 4 days ago. If that doesn't work, I will try for JTAG. Just need to know where I can find the shop. I know they handle the business online, but they must have a shop to do the work, somewhere. Thanks anyway.

First post your firmware details; Goto Settings - About phone, and post everything you see
If you're talking about the Galaxy S, you're in the wrong forum, mate. Irrespective, there isnt any 'good' or 'bad' ROM, try some of the more popular ones from the Android development section.
As for video walkthroughs, there are a fair few videos on youtube. I'd post links but I'm not sure if thats against the forum rules. PM me if you want em. Although, the guides provided here on xda itself are good enough. You've got root and CWM, thats probably the biggest hurdle overcome right there
Read up about
Cwm
Odin
4.0.4 brickbug
then rooting and flashing kernels/roms
Ill post my details when i get
