How can I access my SD card? I'm using root explorer and I'm only seeing the things that are on the hard drive. Thanks.
The "My files" app lets u view both if ur still stock or havent removed it

Wow I had to reset the phone that app wasn't showing, thanks!
In root explorer I can find the ext SDCard in /mnt/extSdCard
I've found that I/O FileManager works much better than My Files.
File Explorer can access it by going to favorites > Mnt/extsdcard.
But samsung has actually worked on making it difficult to do Apps 2 SD for some reason so dont even try it
I can't get clockwork mod to access the micro sd card - is it because of the name... ie, does it need to be changed to emmc or something like that?

oops - sorry just found another thread about it. I'll have to wipe it later..

You have to download link2sd and go to settings and set install location to external. It works just like adb shell

Works with rooted android.

Download and install titanium backup pro from anywhere you like. Open the program and click on the options button of your phone and click on batch. You'll see a number of operations followed by a run button after each one. Scroll down and you'll see "move all user apps to SD card", click on run and you are done

Without partitioning the SD card, you will always have part of the apps on internal. With partitioning the SD card, you can move the entire apps to SD card.
I just went to gplay (marketplace) and got app2sd. Whether the phone is rooted or not you should be able to move the apps to the sdcard-ext, as long as there is enough room.

Yeah it helps in moving some apps to sd but it doesnt allows you to move all the app to sd. you may need to root you phone in order to move all apps to sd. when i used to use app2sd when i just started using android i used to have around 40 mb internal memory free inspite of moving all the apps that were possible to move on an unrooted phone to sd. I was then inspired to root my phone when i saw its possibilities

How can i make an ext part on my SDcard ???
I am using link2sd and it works like a charm. I have not partitioned my sd card.
TRY THIS
If u have lucky patcher installed on ur device, the version should be 3.9.3, first of all, move ur app or game's data (the very known com.xyz.xxxxx folder) to extsd/android/data or obb by using filemanager , now create that folder with a same name in sdcard or internal sd/android/data or obb/here, which would be like com.xyz.xxxxxx, open lucky patcher v3.9.3 goto toolbox tap directory binder, remember it will not bind the whole sdcard or internal sd , it will work only for particular directory (folder), so no need to worry, now tap on add new directory bind, no tap browse the 1st one, and show it to the path of that extsd/android/data/com.xyz.xxxx folder after that select current directory, now go for browse the 2nd one, goto the internal path should be like sdcard/android/data or obb/com.xyz.xxxx select current directory, now tap on bind directory. thats it, it will save ur sdcrd space. u can check it by setting then storage, i successfully did it in my funbook infinity having 1.5gb internal space available, plays the amazing Spider-Man2 , the dark knight rises, and dead trigger.
I have a rooted but otherwise stock Galaxy Tab S 8.4 (SM-T705) and I have a 128GB Sandisk SD card. Is it possible to move all apps (with all their contents) to the SD card? I read that even though my device is rooted, I will need to partition my SD card first before i can move all apps (with all their contents) to the SD card? Can someone please tell me how to partition my SD card? Also, if I move all apps with all their contents to SD card, would the running of such apps encounter any problems (as part of them are supposed to be in the device internal memory?)
I tried Link2 SD and Titanium Backup Pro but I could not see any such function (only native Android app2sd).
Thank you very much in advance.

You can't just move files/dirs like that. You have to set up symlinks too.
If you don't know how to do that, it might be best if you don't mess around anymore.

isnt there a way i can get the data to automatically save on to my internal storage space?
which rom you use?
In CM (and CM based) roms you can change the storages so that you will be able to use the internal storage as the app storage. notice that it will change the storage settings for all the other apps (For example, the camera storage location will be in the internal instead of the SD card)

yh im using neutrino rom, ive seen that setting but i dont want to move everything to phone storage, ive seen some apps that say they can transfer the data so i might try that
I have been trying to find a way to have everything save on my sd card (the external).
For example, if i download a picture or ringtone from Zedge, it defaults to the internal storage (sdcard).
I want it to download in the external sd card (sdcard2).
Ive read the threads about swapping them but i would really prefer NOT to do it that way.
Anybody out there have a better solution?

I know that you can swap mount points...making your external card the default storage. I don't think there's any other way.
Is there a way to do this without root access, I just want my pinned music in the play music app to download to my sd card instead of internal storage.

I use Gtunes & it lets me choose where I want to download my music to. You might check in the settings & see if it'll let you change the location.

I know that you can swap mount points but then it just gets too confusing. Especially in TWRP recovery.
I wanted to find a way to do this WITHOUT the swap mount points method.
I think it has something to do with the permissions. But when I try to edit them I keep getting an error message that fails to save permission changes.

Hi,
I'm still trying to find a ROM that I can use for my daily usage. My main problem is that almost all the ROMs that I flash fail to detect my ext_sd folder, a.k.a. my external SD card.
When I flash an ICS ROM and go to the file explorer to install titanium backup and restore my apps, it says that this folder is empty.
Sometimes when I restart several times, it finds my SD card, sometimes I have to flash other ROMs to have it but it's OK in some ROMs like CM10 but eventually it losts this folder as well.
Since I'm S-ON, I can't get back to GB ROMs.
SD card may be problamatic but it's OK when I mount it via attaching cable to phone or attaching it directly to my PC with a SD card cartridge.
What could be the problem? How I can check that SD card is OK?
Thanks.
Let me add this that if I open back of my phone and remove and re insert the SD card, it gets detected but it's cumbersome.
Use a root explorer to go up to root and instead of ext sd go into sd card 2 folder. Should be there

I know this is an age old question, but I figured I'd give it a shot. I was wondering what my best option was to get apps and/or their data onto my microsd card. I've tried the method with Directory Bind, but I wasn't to big a fan. Just looking for a point in the right direction, for the easiest/quickest/best method.(I have already rooted my phone, so rooting isn't an issue)
Also while I'm here what's the best method of free tethering, again with the rooted ability.
Same here! I've tried the foldermount method and using shortcuts with the root explorer in Rom manager to no avail. But, for someone with some knowhow, I've accidentally got it to work with Spotify. I don't know for the life of me what I have done, but between hours of using the above to methods, Spotify is now on my external Sd card. I can uninstall spotify, wipe data, cache, the whole nine yards and when I reinstall, boom, straight to my sd card. I can reformat my sd card, and when I install spotify, it will create a folder named Android/data/com.spotify.mobile.android.ui folder. on my sd card. All the songs i download goes in the same directory just like it did under sdcard0 on the internal memory. But now, I can't replicate this at all. I'm trying with zedge, but no luck. If I find anything, I'll post back to this thread.
I downloaded a couple of apps, but when i open ES file explorer i cant find the apps,it suppose to be in the download folder.I did check in the sd card0 and in the ext sdcard and no lock.

First time I tried with Directory Bind I was able to move the game file to the sd, but when opening the app it requires downloading the files, so it can't find them in the new Directory. The next time was short lived because I couldn't find files for most recent app

Doesn't titanimum backup allow this? I've never personally tried it but I thought I saw a move app to SD card option.
From what I understand this cant be done on JB.
