since you own the game: you should find the required files on your internal sd card under the "/sdcard/android/data/(whatever the nova dir name is)". just copy the whole dir tree over and that should do it
Didn't you or someone else create exactly the same topic a few days back?
If your laptop has Wifi network, you can use the free program 'Connectity' to create a real Wifi AP network from your computer to which your phone can connect. It will then be able to use your computer's internet connection to download the game data.
However hocgwai's recommendation is better in terms of speed and data usage since you already seem to have it installed on another phone.

does performance on tegra 3 devices differ???or its ll the same..like they say they have a 12 core GPU..whearas we still on Mali like the S2

We're on the same GPU architecture than S2, true. However it's clock speed has been ramped up to twice S2's speed, bringing it in synthetic benchmarks (so real-world differences may vary) in front of the Tegra3 as the most powerful mobile phone GPU/CPU combination.
The amount of GPU cores doesn't say a lot about it's performance and how apps can actually use it.

Depends on which platform the game has been optimized for. Nvidia really aggressively pushs their Tegra platform while Samsung let's app developers take their own decision.
This -at least in the near term- results in THD having a better graphic than Mali which doesn't mean the S3 could not handle it. A nice proof is the Chainfire3D app which enables S2/S3 devices to run Tegra2 (optimized) games at full resolution or even fore a higher antialias.

HI!
I was casually browsing the internet, just like people do, when i came across a link for faked chinese phones, trying to see if there was annoyed customers saying they would sue the phonemakers because the phone they just bought could only just support angry birds, but it lagged alot. But then i came across this: http://lightake.com/detail.do/sku.G...3G_GPS_WIFI_Quad_band_Smart_Phone_Black-45950
I quickly looked down the specs list;
-Qualcomm MSM7227 600MHZ CPU (same as our beloved P500)
-802.11B WIFI (also the same)
-Adreno 200 GPU (same)
-480x320 screen (same)
-GSM 850, 900, 1800, 1900mhz
-512MB ROM
-256MB RAM (unfortunately not the same )
-Same Size rear camera, and also a front camera
If your take a look at the page, you will see that next-to-everything is the same.
But, as a bonus, it packs an almost-complete iphone user interface complete with launcher, status bar, ect..
If a anyone gets their hands on the phone, or wants to try and port the rom to our LG, or just wants to test it if somone Tries to port it, post it in this forum.
Hands on: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SzYk9_aPodg
The ui looks great, and if we had a system dump we could extract the launcher and make some rockin' cm7 themes too!

Nope, the gooapple 3G clearly has an ARMv6 600Mhz chip, same exact one as ours, and also the same adreno 200 gpu.
It pretty clear this is almost the same phone but in disguise; the 3D performance is almos the same as our stock rom.

Yeah; we could do with a nand from the 3G version, the one with an awesome interface. from there we could extract the files, and it wouldnt take much to make it run on the o1

My 20 year old cousin sister is looking for a Android phone and the ACE just about fits in an extended budget.
Is the phone good? Or are there any better alternatives at similar prices?
The internal memory at 158Mb seems too low, is this a problem?
Will she be able to run games like Angry Birds?
She needs a stable ROM and will not be messing up with the phone much. Which ROM / Kernel is recommended?

If you know how to install ROM's and the necessary additions, 158 mb is not a problem. And this phone is damn good. Easy to flash ROMs and make the phone easily modified.

Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman at almost same price in mumbai.. and worth of price as more ram + processor + 320MB storage + ICS + walkman quality.... so it would be worth that money...
if you like ace then you might want to wait for some time as ace plus is expected to be launched at 15k with some good improvements
since she wont be messing about with the phone much, maybe stock roms would be better(functions like swipe to call) try ICS stock by rushabh25 its in the development section

Herpderp Adreno + Tegra.
This was my first Android phone so I really don't have vast experience, but I have learned to install CM7.2, many mods, hacks, etc and the phone is going like a champ, so it can take heavy modding and inexperienced users.
It is true that the limited internal memory is a problem, at least to me and it lags a bit playing games, even being OC'ed and optimized by scripts.
I do still recommend it, just make sure you install a lightweight launcher and try to keep the always running apps (facebook, twitter, whatsapp, etc) to the minimum those precious MBs of ram do hurt the performance, also disabling big, heavy widgets has shown improved performance.
Do not try to overclock over 902Mhz, I keep mine at 884Mhz though at 902 it was able to run normally throughout the day, but when playing games or doing CPU intensive tasks I do get hard resets.
I hope this helps you in making your mind.

I know that there are trillions of threads out of there regarding the issue, and maybe, I'll even get some people telling me off for making a new thread about this, but does anyone have any news on any NDS emulator?
I think our Galaxy S II is strong enough to emulate the NDS.. The NDS has the following specs: (According to Wikipedia.org)
Resolution of 256 × 192 pixels
CPUs: Two ARM processors
32 bit ARM946E-S main CPU; 67 MHz clock speed. Processes gameplay mechanisms and video rendering.
32 bit ARM7TDMI coprocessor; 33 MHz clock speed. Processes sound output, Wi-Fi support and takes on second-processor duties in Game Boy Advance mode.
RAM: 4 MB of mobile RAM, expandable via the Game Boy Advance slot (expansion only officially used by the Opera web browser).
OR, if anyone else is ready to continue the development, it would be really great. I know I'm being selfish here as a newbie, but I think it would be really worth the effort, as there would be many people like me dying to emulate NDS on our phones..
True. But seems to be a pain to emulate. Let's just wait, stare, and see.
Envoyé depuis mon GT-I9100 avec Tapatalk
Yeah, I know how much effort it takes to emulate stuff, but still this project could be worth it. Believe it or not, we've all been waiting for a long time for this emulator.
The last version we saw for the nds4droid was v1.3, and no updates have been released thereafter, AFAIK... So, does any know about any version later than 1.3? *resumes hoping to play Pokemon Pearl on his phone someday*
i wish i knew how to code..i badly want to this fully functional!!
So do many other people.. Is there any way we could support the original developer with his project? I mean, if the dev wants to make this app usable, there will be many people who will be ready to donate to the dev for his hard work. Any possibility we could contact them?
Erm, I don't think I'll let this thread die.. Will someone be willing to help to keep this thread alive?

There are two emulators that were being developed but ceased; tiger nds and nds4droid.
The galaxy s2 is powerful enough to handle a nds emulator. It's not the phone that is running the games slow, and without sound, but the coding of the apks.

If i remember correctly the main reason NDS emulation on PCs took a while was because the coding was wonky, for example even the current NDS emulator on computers is poorly optimized
our SII's have more then enough juice to run it, but again i think adapting the code is the problem, guess all we can do is wait *waves surrender flag*
I'm using a high end phone (samsung galaxy s3) clocked to 1600mhz and using siyah kernel. No matter what governor i set the phone to (even if it's only max freq), it WILL lag if i'm downloading thru torrent client. Not immediatly, but after say one hour. I have to stop the downloads/close the app to make my phone lag free.
My client is ttorrent (pro and lite have same prpblem), but i've experienced the same result with other clients (adownloader).
What the hell is the problem? I DO NOT get any lag when doing an html direct download, then why do i get any when using torrent clients? Even if one might say: your phone is frequently dumping cache onto the filesystem cuz torrent clients first make the file then they dump data on it, THEN i would answer: this happens if i download onto my phone, as well as on my CLASS 10 32gb microsd card. Also i have downloaded content from the web thru html direct with a download accelerator that made the file first, then dumped data on disk. I believe that this lag issue happening on a high end device is just insane!!! My phone is practically dead if i dont set governor to performance while downloading!
Any help? Anybody having the same issue?
EDIT: it might have something to do with the fact that after an hour or so of video streaming from the web the player (android stock) gets REALLY laggy?(along with the phone)

If the download speed is high, usually over 2-2,5 MB/s, it's normal, since the torrent client cannot write (flush) the data to the flash drive so fast. This happens on any computer. For example, this also happens on my computer, since I only have a 7200 RPM HDD and I download with 8.5 MB/s. This wouldn't be a problem if I had a high speed-write/read SSD, for example. Of course, if I allocate more RAM to the torrent client, it won't lag for a while, until the rest of the allocated RAM is filled.
So, this happens only when download speeds exceed the writing speed of the storage device. In our case, the flash drive.
lol why aren't your torrent files finished after 1 hour?
your sgs2' max download speed is as fast as the sgs3, which is why s2 didn't have any problems writing smaller ammounts of data at a time. look at your s2's dl speeds, then use your torrent to cap your speed to what your s2's is. that'll give you a true comparative. your memory card speed doesn't effect phones internal disk speed, which is where your system is.
personally, my s2 best torrent speed was 1.2mbps. my s3 can break 3, so even if the process can handle it, the internal memory can barely keep up, which shows everywhere else on your phone.
I don't think samsung bumped up the grade of internal storage coming from s2 to s3, just made it bigger.
does your torrent offer the option to save directly to external SD card? the torrents still run thru system unfortunately, but it will be less work on your internal that way.

Why in the first place you torrent with a phone?? =//
R: Torrent Client slpws down phone!
I'm going to answer all of you cuz since im a new member i only get to post once evry 5 mins-.-
Anyways:
We are not using sata disks, but flash drives. Solid state memory disks. They're VERY fast at copying. And my sdcard to which i usually download (but i have expierenced lag even if downloading onto phone memory) is class 10 (30mb read, more than 3 copy).
Also i live in italy, one of the continents with lowest download/upload speeds (can't imagine why), plus i live in an extra-urban area, so i get even slpwer speeds. 350kbps is the top of my download speed (sometimes 400). So download-copying problems are not the case, 100%.
Also the reason i download to my phone is because it makes it easier to have movies on the go always with me (i download only legal movies off the web
Also my streaming player lags when streaming, it's gotta have to be something conerning the samsung phone. Anybody on htc experience this?

Performance is a subjective term..
It varies from person to person.
Well, games do lag on our phones beyond a point and I've seen every android device lag after sometime of use while doing heavy multitasking, etc
Android OS as such needs to undergo a lot of development .
Well, you do have to pay a price for the seamless customizing option it gives us..

Well yes, not all apps are compatible with it. Just think like your phone was a computer/PC.
You install windows xp which is themable and can become like windows 7 (i think transforming it to windows 8 would make it less efficient.)
So you have the lightets and most beautiful version of windows ever on your pc. But still windows xp can only use directx 9 and cant use internet explorer10 (but anyway who's using internet explorer nowadays.). Also a lot of software is not compatible with it.
So you install windows 7. Windows 7 will give you an amazing collection features, apps and such but they will perform slower compared to windows xp. (We are always talking about a computer with about 1,3~1.5Ghz proccesor)
So you must choose between these two: A lot of compatible apps and slow speed OR excellent performance with lower app compability. Well you choose. Gingerbread or ICS/JB. It is up to you and how you are going to use your phone.
Also with the lemon cake (if i rember correctly) version of android there is going to be a huge performance increase because it is going to support phone with ram of about 512MB which is what our phone has. And with a fully working kernel 3 Performance should be increased [email protected]!

Also with the lemon cake (if i rember correctly) version of android there is going to be a huge performance increase because it is going to support phone with ram of about 512MB which is what our phone has. And with a fully working kernel 3 Performance should be increased [email protected]!

You're right. Each one of us has to choose what it wants.I think I will wait for the Lemon Cake.Hasn't our phone only 384 MB of RAM?

actually it is 335 for gingerbread
340 for ics and
384 for jb *as you said
Well because of the fact that i am afraid of unlocking my bootloader (no money to fix/replace the phone from any damage caused) i cant tell you about custom kernels. But our phone has in general 512mb of ram. Generally some memory is taken by the kernel for some functions for example camera/gpu. Camera 720p has been removed from jelly bean so thats why it has more free ram.
That happens on every phone i guess.

Thx for explaining me.Now i understood. But why does the gingerbread work smoother than jb if it has less RAM available
Oh,and i have another question(about CSR Racing). When I am on stock gb or ics when i press to shift the gears it goes late(doesn't matter if i oc or not).I mean like 3 sec late. But when i am on a custom rom it changes the gear perfectly. Why is that happening?

Well it seems to be lighter and probably I guess more optimized. Ram doesnt matter for performance in this case. Gingerbead was made to work on devices with even lower ram thats why no problems excists. Also my guess is tha Jb can work on even less ram smooth enough. Ram in android is mostly occupied by cached processes which are "useless" for the Os to operate correctly.
Anyway about csr racing i know nothing ).
