Hey everyone.
I recently used Odin to flash my phone back to complete stock. After that I flashed it to an ICS rom. But I still have the KA7 modem that's stock.
When I tried to flash the KB5 modem through recovery mode, I get the following error:
"Amend scripting (update-script) is no longer supported. It was necessary to remove it when upgrading to the Clockworkmod 3.0 Gingerbread based recovery. Installation aborted."
Also, on a random note: after flashing the ICS rom, I installed Titinaium pro and tried to batch restore my apps. Titanium works through all the apps the says it finished restoring but nothing shows up in the apps drawer.
Thoughts? Any help is appreciated.
here you have a link with ICS flashable modems from scrizz http://www.mediafire.com/?9tjt5it4rjjd6. Choose the one you need and flash.
That worked perfectly! Thank you!

Hello - I'm new to clockwork. I am running Eugene's Ginger Clone ROM, rooted, and undid OCLF.
I downloaded ROM manager from the Market and installed. I noticed I now have an update.zip file on the internal SD. I rebooted into recovery - but when I click reinstall packages, I get this error:
Finding Update Package
Opening Update Package
Verifying Update Package
E: failed to verify whole-file signature
E: signature verification failed
Installation Aborted
What am I doing wrong? I am DYING to get Nero v2 flashed!
Any help is much appreciated!!
Thanks,

on ROM MANAGER did you press FLASH CLOCK WORK RECOVERY? its the first option. YOU MUST HAVE THAT.
if it still doesn't work, on TITANIUM BACKUP, press menu, and click CREATE UPDATE.ZIP and it'll re-do it, but u'll need to re-flash clockwork recovery.

I did Flash Clockwork before the error as Galaxy S Vibrant. I flashed again same error.
I went ti Titanium, created update.zip and reflashed clockwork. Still getting the same error.
Any other ideas - or can I get an update.zip that's known working?
Thanks!

try re-downloading the ROM and try again..

IDK how to fix this besides ODIN back to stock, and then re-flash it.
I SUGGEST you just do odin because it'll erase everything and it might be a small bug in your system doing this.
I even tried older versions of clockwork. I don't think redownloading the ROM would help because I can't even get CW to start.
Strange damn thing.
I guess I'll odin back to stock.
Thanks

yeah it happens sometimes, and you need to ODIN once in a while so your ROMS ghosts don't stay back and haunt your newer roms.
Good Luck on it working.
Odin'ed back and had to reset phone. Bone stock and re-installed Clockwork. Did the reinstall packages and it rebooted this time and looks hung on Installing Multi-CSC. I guess that takes a while? Babysitting...

same here
Yes I'm having the exact same problem. I'm running nero beta 3 and I'm getting the can't verify signature error with clockwork. I've read elsewhere that this has something to do with having 3E recovery vs. 2E recovery, but I'm not entirely sure what that means. It sounds like we need to Odin back to a stock version to fix this problem, but can anyone tell us which one? Can someone provide a stock version that has the CWM with 2E? Or a better solution? It would be much appreciated, and thanks to funky for starting this thread.
I odin'ed back to T959UVJFD.tar
That wasn't enough so I wiped all user data via recovery mode. Re-installed Rom Manager - and now I'm on Nero v2.
I figured out the Installing Multi-CSC issue by reinstalling packages again.
Some things just take time I guess.
Thanks for the help guys!

I'm running kb5 rom and modem. I'm rooted, rom manager clockworked, installed the install.bat so I can get past the verification error for install packages in recovery, I have everything working right (my problem is getting into clockwork recovery... Every time I install packages It will load the packages and then just reboot my phone....) I can't get into clockwork to install trigger 3.3 rom
Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong I have tried everything from flashing back to 2.1 jdf rooting, install packages, clockwork, installed trigger 3.3 and it flashes the rom and just keeps rebooting into recovery over and over that's the closest I have gotten. That's why I'm currently trying to flash this trigger 3.3 rom on 2.2 froyo but cannot get into clockwork now....
I'm ready to go do a keg stand!! Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!
Jfd via odin
Root with update.zip
Reinstall
ROM manager, flash cwr, reinstall packages twice.
Reboot
Move trigger to internal after verifying md5
Wipe
Flash
Reboot
Wait
Enjoy
What 2.2 rom are u flashing trigger3.3 over? I believe trigger3.3 is a no wipe update specifically for trigger. Can't be flashed by itself or over any other rom.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA Premium App
kb5+voodoo
Figured it out. I just flashed the kb5+voodoo kernal witch included clockwork easy access. After odin that kernal I flashed with ease... thanks hope this helps somebody trigger roms are awesome!
I am new to modding my vibrant (phone is rooted but that's all) but looking to flash a new ROM. I dl'd rom manager and installed cwr. When I reboot into recovery mode via rommanager or manually doing it,I do not get the prompt to backup. Only options I get are to reboot system, reinstall packages, delete all user data, delete cache data, and format internal sd-card. Anyone know how to fix this? I just updated to 2.2 froyo UVKB5 kernel 2.6.32.9 if that helps.
looks like you have stock recovery.
try reinstall packages, might take a couple times..
or install CWM via replacing update.zip
What he said, yeah.
So just delete the current update.zip file on my phone and replace it with a new one? Any links to download the update.zip file?
Sometimes you have to Reinstall Packages twice for it to go from regular recovery to CWR. If you flash a custom ROM though, most have a custom recovery built in.
If you have to replace the update.zip (which I don't think that you do), this worked for me the first time I rooted.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=849028
How to Root.
I am rooted, but I want to back everything up so that way if I do not like the new custom rom I can go back. I tried reinstalling the update.zip file from the link but s till have the same issue. Any other solutions besides going back to stock and going from there? And if I did go back to stock, would I lose everything?
I backed up using Titanium Backup, is that the same as going into recovery mode and backing up?
Re-download recovery using ROM Manager, then repeat. Worked when I had a similar issue.
Tried that several times. I also reuploaded the update file and reinstalled the package several times. Still no luck so I think I might go back to stock using Odin.
Then DL Eugenes froyo don't brick ROM with the 2e recovery update in it, then re-install packages, maybe twice and you'll have the green recovery menu your seeking
Googled Eugene's DL and I do not feel to confident with it. Is it supposed to fix the issue with getting into recovery mode?
So I went back to stock last night using Odin, upgraded to 2.2, and rooted using Superoneclick. Phone's back up and running but faster than the first time I upgraded to 2.2. I still have the issue getting into the proper recover to install the zip file. I've read that deleting Slacker helped some people, assuming it freed up space on the System ROM. My system ROM was full until I started to delete some apps. I now have 20.7 MB free. Could not enough System ROM space be the issue?
I am now also getting a "Fail" attempt when I try and update su saying that it failed to find currently installed su binary. Any advice on fixing this?
TIA!!!
it would probably be easier to just odin back to stock jfd and then flash a deodexed kb5 build thats rooted with SU already in it from here in the forums.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1036193&highlight=deodexed
If you flashed kb5 from kies or odin and don't want to reinstall the rom then you will need to flash a modified 3e recovery because you probably are not quite rooted and won't be able to use CWM until you flash the modified 3e recovery...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=833423
You might want to check out the AIO vibrant toolbox (pinned topic in the development thread) it will give you big easy buttons and instructions to flash back to jfd and root and flash a new rom if you need to... It comes with Odin so you can wander into the install folder and fire up Odin to flash the modified 3e recovery if you decide to go that route too.
If I flash a deodexed kb5 will i still be able to flash a custom rom?
I've been messing around with my x10a and I can't seem to flash any ROMs in xRecovery.
I've been trying to flash Wolfbreak's ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1266080) but xRecovery keeps giving me an error saying that it can't update the script or something and that it was changed in Android 1.5.
I searched around and people said to use a lower version of xRecovery, but I installed the recovery through flashtool and it is still not working.
Another problem I've encountered is that data doesn't work anymore for my phone. No clue why.
Here are the steps on what I did.
1. Downloaded Flashtool
2. Rooted and installed xRecovery.
3. Unlocked bootloader
4. Flashed "X10a_3.0.1.G.0.75_AMERICA-US GENERIC 1233-8200.zip " for x10a through Flashtool.
5. Flashed Doom Kernel v06-1113 [medium OVERCLOCK VERSION] through Flashtool
6. Flashed Doom Kernel x10_gb_DooMKernel-v06-1113_wifi modules through xRecovery (worked)
Help is very appreciated! I've installed custom ROM's on my htc, motorola, and tablets but this phone is extremely weird.
Try ref lashing the kernel

Yeah, I tried flashing it with CWM and I've been getting the same error about not able to update script
Edit: Data's working now but it keeps cutting in and out. Phone keeps popping out with a notification saying that download settings didn't save. Any ideas?
The error i'm getting in recovery is : amend scripting(update-script) is no longer supported. amend scripting was deprecated by google in Android 1.5. It was necessary to remove it when upgrading to the clockworkmod 3.0 Gingerbread based recovery. Please switch to Edify scripting (updater-script and update-binary) to create working update zip packages.
Hey,
Anyone know of any older CWM's that has the capability of Amend Scripting? The new CWM that I have does support it, as a result I keep getting the following error when I try to flash a rom: I am on JB Remics Rom.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Amend scripting was depreciated by google in android 1.5
It was necessary to remove it when upgrading to the clockwordmod 3.0 gingerbread based recovery.
Please switch to edify scripting (updated-script and update binary) to working update.zip packages.
Installation aborted"
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Apparently, from doing some research, if I flash an older CWM that allows amend scripting, I will not have an issue flashing roms
Any links to older CWM's or thoughts would be appreciated, thanks!!
I would use Odin to go back to stock.
The only issue, is that when I first bought the phone and tried to unlock it, I was having issues, so I had to ADB Shell to change some of coding and files around.
If I were to Odin back to Stock, I do not want to take a chance of having everything go back to normal and the phone being locked again.
Maybe, I am wrong? Or does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions?? I just want to be able to upload roms.
