Question for all you devs out there is there anyway to mod the stock launcher to be able to hide apps from the app draw like in go launcher ex? I love the stock Sony launcher but hate all those horrible app icons in the app draw especially the ones that run in the background and there's no need for them to be there, can anyone recommend a solution??? Much appreciation for any help

If you want to hide stock apps, disable them from the app settings screen.
Thanks for your reply K900, I tried that and it stopped the app from working completely, rather than just removing the icon whilst retaining the apps functionality, any other ideas??

That will be difficult to implement properly without having the source.
Use this app ccswe app manager.

You shuould try Apex laucher, give it a try
Disable
Just disable them in settings, apps, all,
Top left corner, disable.
The disabled app will not show up in the apps menu.
Not all apps can be disabled, but most of them.

Only the two of them gave a helpful answer. WITHOUT root, no CAN'T hide ICONS from the STOCK launcher. However, you can, WITH root, hide them, using the app recommended by victore88.

if you have rooted mobile freeze the app using TITANIUM BACKUP PRO so that icons gets disappeared from menu and defreeze it to get the icon back
I believe the OP is only looking to hide the icon, for example, Simple Text App when you purchase it you also get a second Simple Text Icon (purchased) . I believe its the second Icon that is not required to be visible. (I only used Simple Text as an example). OR like with Simple Text, I only use it once to create the icons but won't need to use it again for a long time. So again I don't need it taking up space..
To answer the OP. No, I don't have an answer apart from an other launcher - Go Launcher etc.
You can use Advanced Xperia Launcher.
It's closest to stock as possible and there are many options that Sony (for some reasons don't want to
to add).
I know this thread is old but many guys are trying to find a solution so - there it is...

I've always wondered how other people setup thier phones, what applications they use and how they have things set out. Not sure if you guys will follow but I started this so everyone can show a list of applications or even just a simple background screenshot of what they have on thier mini or mini pro.
Anyone know of a good screenshot application so I can post mine up lol

Wow!
How many memory did you get after these downloads?
What program do you use to get that Home Screen?
Thank's!
Err not sure about the memory, think it was between 37-50MB free (phone is being repaired atm)
I'm using ADW Launcher atm, but I'm gonna change to LauncherPro as soon as 2.1 is out.

I was thinking the same thing, are you running an app or is that a full re-theme, your status bar seems to be somewhat different than anything I've come across for the Mini/Mini Pro? Also, what app are you running to tell you call time and message counters?

Do you (all people with different launchers) need to remove the SE standard launcher?

Are there any launchers that have a slide up app tray like the stock android launcher in 0.9/.10/1.5/1.6 or would I have to pull the Apk from a G1 rom?
Edit: sorry I meant to put this in Apps & Games, could a Mod move it for me?

I'm sure that most of you have heard of this amazing app, but just in case if somebody didn't. -> Samba Filesharing
This app allows you to connect your phone to pc via WiFi and transfer files with drag-and-drop method. It means no more cables.
SDcard becomes visible in Windows explorer, and you can 'treat' it like any windows folder.
as launcher I personally prefer "GO Launcher EX"
Could not live without "Google Maps", I use it for both navigation and simply looking at maps.
"GO SMS Pro" is my prefered SMS application. I have got used to using the signature function of it and the look is also helping me ;-)
I am using "Wifi Alalyzer" when I check the surrounding wireless connections, to check which channels I should use on my routers.
"ES File Explorer" is my favorite file manager.
as my terminal emulator am I using "Android Terminal Emulator".
For backup/restore am I using "Super Backup : SMS & Contacts", it is very simple and it is working perfectly.
I also prefer go launcher, only go launcher.
But i share what i think it will be intersting.
And also hopeing people will share also some app like you guys.

i really don't understand how people can use go launcher on our devices
it's really laggy. if you think it's not, just try using LauncherPro or ADW Launcher.EX and you will definitely see big difference (faster animations and much smoother scrolling).
btw unrelated to launchers, i also recommend using AdFree app wich removes all ads from apps that you have installed on your device.
Does anyone how to use ANT technology
supports xperia phones only

Okay so I recently just flashed Ineffabilis-Deus v1.02 and am loving it. I had the phone icon in my dock and accidentally deleted it. I then went in to the app drawer to put it back on my home screen and could not find it. When I search it in google search, it comes up and I can launch it, but it just doesn't show up in my app drawer. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

On stock there are some hidden apps and I used the app Any Cut to make shortcuts for them. Perhaps you can use that.
Those hidden apps were visible in ADW Launcher though, so if you have another launcher installed try that first.

I'm pretty sure they hide it because on a stock phone they have the phone tab on the home screen already. Just an idea.

We're talking about the phone app, not the one you admire yourself in constantly.
Actually, in stock it is hidden as well. I had made a shortcut before getting a custom ROM so I could check my face for chocolate and blueberries since my coworkers won't say anything.

I used to use an app called gmd autohide softkeys. You can set it up any way you want. You'll need to disable the stock navbar. I figured ide better get used to some stock stuff cause everytime I get a new phone I have to use multiple apps to get it the way I like. Center clock is one of those things I can't live without.
