I used to use an app called gmd autohide softkeys. You can set it up any way you want. You'll need to disable the stock navbar. I figured ide better get used to some stock stuff cause everytime I get a new phone I have to use multiple apps to get it the way I like. Center clock is one of those things I can't live without.

I think the idea of that app is you be using the nav keys it creates on screen for you rather than the system ones.

I think there is an option to always show it. And it let's you use any spacing you want. Maybe play with it and see if you like it. There is a free version.

downloaded quickpic, I select the pic, menu button, set as, quickpic wallpaper, but it won't let me select the whole picture... I get some of it, but then when I try to select the rest, the shrinks on the other end
I feel like an idiot...this is not supposed to be this difficult.
Finally got it! I made it harder than I needed it to be. In my frustration I forgot to hold the finger on the screen and set the wallpaper that way. Thanks

I dont know if this had anything to do with it but I had changed the wallpaper mode to vertical screen mode in the visual settings in preferences (I use GOLauncher). Once I did that it worked fine
Question for all you devs out there is there anyway to mod the stock launcher to be able to hide apps from the app draw like in go launcher ex? I love the stock Sony launcher but hate all those horrible app icons in the app draw especially the ones that run in the background and there's no need for them to be there, can anyone recommend a solution??? Much appreciation for any help

If you want to hide stock apps, disable them from the app settings screen.
Thanks for your reply K900, I tried that and it stopped the app from working completely, rather than just removing the icon whilst retaining the apps functionality, any other ideas??

That will be difficult to implement properly without having the source.
Use this app ccswe app manager.

You shuould try Apex laucher, give it a try
Disable
Just disable them in settings, apps,all,
Top left corner, disable.
The disabled app will not show up in the apps menu.
Not all apps can be disabled, but most of them.

Only the two of them gave a helpful answer. WITHOUT root, no CAN'T hide ICONS from the STOCK launcher. However, you can, WITH root, hide them, using the app recommended by victore88.

if you have rooted mobile freeze the app using TITANIUM BACKUP PRO so that icons gets disappeared from menu and defreeze it to get the icon back
I believe the OP is only looking to hide the icon, for example, Simple Text App when you purchase it you also get a second Simple Text Icon (purchased) . I believe its the second Icon that is not required to be visible. (I only used Simple Text as an example). OR like with Simple Text, I only use it once to create the icons but won't need to use it again for a long time. So again I don't need it taking up space..
To answer the OP. No, I don't have an answer apart from an other launcher - Go Launcher etc.
You can use Advanced Xperia Launcher.
It's closest to stock as possible and there are many options that Sony (for some reasons don't want to
to add).
I know this thread is old but many guys are trying to find a solution so - there it is...
So I found this installable app right here on XDA.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2186734
Just install, enable multiple widgets from settings, open lock screen, swipe from top to bottom to activate multiple widgets, swipe right to add a new widget, select clock and configure as you like and hit the check mark to add, now swipe left till you get back to stock widget, long press and delete, and enjoy!!
Good luck!!

Wallpaper link/upload? Thanks! It's awesome!
I am not completely certain on the source here, but believe it may have come from Zedge originally.
DashClock is also compatible with the S4 since it is running 4.2.+. Similar to cLock and has a fairly good amount of extensions/plugins for various notifications.
Thanks for posting the wallpaper. That one looks good on a lock screen.
Is there any way to use lockscreen widgets with security?

Does anyone know of an xposed module that will let me swipe down notifications from anywhere in the screen without changing launchers?
There's a button you can add in the display setting

Sorry I should have been more specific. I meant a swipe down gesture from anywhere on the screen like you can do worth third party launchers. But thank you for the quick response.

Allow widgets in the settings on your lock screen.
Then on lockscreen, swipe clock to the right. A plus sign should be there. Press on plus sign and add a widget.
Then go back to lockscreen. When clock shows up, long press clock, an x on top will display, drag clock to x and the clock will go away. Your new widget will replace the clock.
for example, my lockscreen:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Add a different widget there instead. I suggest the one you get with the clock app Timely.
Sorry should've added this I want to get rid of it without using a widget

I think you need to replace it with something. With Zooper Widget Pro, you can add a widget, but then leave it blank (don't create a widget at all) but the screen will think there is a widget there even though it is blank.
