Bricked ICS ( GSM Razr ) [Another] [Different?] - Motorola Droid RAZR

I know that there are a lot of threads like this, and I was hesitant to start another, but I am starting to think that my situation is unique.
I tried to flash my Razr to do the OTA update on Tuesday, that broke, so I grabbed the china leak, and flashed it with the EternityProject tool.
Since then, I've been unable to even get into recovery mode, flashing seems to succeed:

What I've tried:
1) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28006523#post28006523
Flashing the ROM linked at the top, no luck
Following the tutorial below, no luck.
2) DroidRazrUtility1.7 for ICS
I know it's for the USA version, but I was desperate, ran through the program, every option, nothing worked.
Any option in the boot menu leads me back to a black screen with white text.
Boot directly after a flash leads me to the following text:
Code:
Invalid CG OTV(GC: cdrom): Invalid SP Data
Invalid CG OTV(GC: system): Invalid SP Data
Invalid CG OTV(GC: webtop): Invalid SP Data
Invalid CG HAB(GC: webtop, Status: 0X0056)
Invalid CG OTV(GC: webtop)
I have rigged a factory cable to do the flashing, since my battery died ages ago, could this be a complication? Phone has 0 charge, I cannot make it charge either.
Anything else I should try before I take it in for repairs?

This tutorial works great ... Follow the step by step
start recovery as in 56, 57, 58 post

Appears to be the same symptoms, loading recovery afterwards ends up with a boot failiure.
Going to try the text file included in the link in post 58, perhaps there's more steps to help.

No luck - Unless I am not understanding which "this" tutorial you are referring to.
Thanks for the help

It's been bricked like this since I flashed the chinese ROM ( 300~ MB )
I don't understand what you mean by "How did you system installed?" - I didn't know there was any way except with the flashing tools.

Some more research has told me that I might need something called "SDK Tools" - Is that just the android SDK? If so, then I am busy installing and will report back.
Can't believe that it's so simple..

I eventually solved it by flashing a new webtop_signed partition.
Turns out, I had formatted it earlier and even though the ICS builds do not have a webtop partition, it is still needed to boot.
So see if you can install the android SDK, then flash an old firmware with webtop, and then an ICS firmware - Should hopefully solve your problem
-- Good luck!

Thank you allready very much for the help!
May i ask you, which firmware you installed?

Or maby you/someone can give me some further information, because im realy scared, that my battery is getting empty and i cant charge it anymore, i tryied many things already but nothing worked, so now you are my last hope, but i dont realy know how to do it / which firmware i should use and schould i use RSD Lite to do it?
Hope for positive replay (relay needed!)

Phoooooooo!
Finaly got it to work! :victory:
I falshed "SPDREM_U_01.6.5.1-167_SPU-15-M2-1-CEE_1C.91P_0A.6C_RTCEE_CFC_HWp2b_SIGNED.xml" with the alternative to RSD Lite: "Fla****" but i got only errors, after a while i got the background of the recovery and instantly pressed volume up + down and there i got the recovery, where i than wiped both chases.
Afterwards i connected it with my pc and flashed "SPDREM_U_01.6.7.2-180_SPU-19-TA-11.2_SIGNEuropeAustraliaEMEA_USASPDRICSRTGB_HWp2b_Service1FF_fastboot.xml" and finaly got it to start and now got ICS 4.0.4 again working on my phone!

Need Help get into a bootloop after ICS update

Hey guys,
i updated my razr to ics via the fastboot files. the update went through and i got a pass. now when i turn on my phone i get into a bootloop. sometimes the phone boots and restart after some minutes.
for the update i used rsd lite 5.7 and this fastboot file:
SPDREM_U_01.6.7.2-180_SPU-19-TA-11.2_SIGNEuropeAustraliaEMEA_USASPDRICSRTGB_HWp2b_Service1FF_fastboot.xml.zip
before the update i dont wipe my phone but now when i got into the bootloop i tried to wipe my phone but i am still in a bootloop.
have somebody an idea what i can do to get rid of this f*** bootloop?
I don't understand if you wiped and still have bootloop ore you couldn't wipe because of the bootloop.
If the latter, press powerbutton and vol down to reset and right after the reset press volume up and down and powerbutton
while the bootloop i make a force shut down and then i can boot in the recovery mode. so i can do a wipe i can also run in an ap fastboot mode but the factory recovery or the cache wipe do not help i got still the bootloop
Wipe again and try to reflash again with rds lite
already tried, i dosent help. i really dont know what the problem is. the updating process works fine no failures but i got into a bootloop
uhm is strange, are you sure that the sfb you are using is the correct one for your phone?
i was sure, now i am not i have a gsm retail razr and i think this is the right sbf, isnt it?

What's your region Razr? It's .Eu, .Asia, .Latam?
Anyway, try erasing cache and data prior flash with rsd lite
Code:
fastboot erase cache
Code:
fastboot erase userdata
Cheers
i am in EU
i made data wipe and cache wipe before the flash with rsd lite, but no changes

Do as I said and flash Ics again. Erase works somehow different from wipe.
.eu is your region razr?
Cheers

oh sorry,
can you explain me how i can make a fastbook erase cache/userdata? i only know how to wipe data
yes the region of my razr is .eu
You have the sdk installed on your pc? If yes go into platform-tool with the cmd (if you are win, therminal if you are on linux/mac)
then type the life of pedro during fastboot ap
i did it like you both said. everything went fine the fastboot erase cache/userdata and the flash with the Final EU Android 4.0 ICS rom. but still i have a bootloop -.-
do you know is there an other ics rom which i can try for my razr?
i also tried to update with the leaked update file but i am still in a bootloop ....
Your razr is probably from another region.
Its not right to get a bootloop after flashing a stock rom and wipe data n cache.
Repeat the wipes in recovery. Both data n cache.
Cheers

I agree. The radio wouldn't be flashed if it was a wrong region rom.
Anyway, check your region razr in motorola support page. Check for ur warranty status ir will return ur razr region n carrier
Meanwhile: download and flash this with rsd lite 5.7

you can see the logs from the logcat in the attached files, maybe someone see the problem for the bootloop

Bootloop and ALWAYS ON Razr

Hello, I have a One X but I have the Razr of a friend and I am a little confused.
He tells me that he try to root the phone with a program that he download after a few minutes of searching in google. Now the phone stucks on M logo and reboots, also I can´t totally turn off the phone he turns on randomly by itself and I can´t do anything.
I try to flash a fastboot file using this tut http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1453660 but when the process ends and the phone reboots after the M logo it stucks on a black screen with an android logo with a red triangle.
I am totally lost now, I don´t know what I should do, I don´t understand why the Razr is restarting by itself and I can´t turn off it.
Also the bootloader version is 0A.74, if you need more info please tell me.

First you should make sure you have all the tools in Motorola tools installed.
Download the corresponding firmware,
And then extract the firmware.zip fastboot file.
Then open up RSD lite, keep it there open.
Leave the Vol- and power button on the RAZR pressed. Then a black screen with some white text should appear....It should say something like "status: locked"...
Connect the RAZR to your computer, wait a bit, and RSD should detect it.
Load the xml that has been extracted form the zip in RSD lite, select the RAZR, and click start.
Now sit down and wait, it'll take a long time and will reboot various times, but at the end, you should have the RAZR working again.

First of all, thanks for answer me.
I have installed all the drivers that I found on all the TUT on XDA and also the RSD Lite. I did all the steps that you say and like other TUT says, RSD detect my phone properly and when I press start and select decompress and flash (or something like that) RSD stucks on the flash steps after decompress the zip file.
I don´t know if my problem is my bootloader version or maybe the zip file that I download. Can anyone help me finding a fastboot file for my phone? I don´t think that I forget to install any driver. Thanks in advance.
Mmm, with RSD, you should be opening a .xml file which comes from unzipping the fastboot .zip firmware...........
And to the firmware there are many, which vary upon your location.
What really matters with firmwares is choosing the correct GSM/CMDA version. GSM is any RAZR from anywhere in the world.. and CMDA is the RAZR from Verizon in the USA..........
If you have a GSM phone, I recomend downloading this fw:
http://sbf.droid-developers.org/umt..._SPYDERICSRETBRLA_ServiceCFC_fastboot.xml.zip
Unzipping it.
Do the steps I've mentioned, and choose the .xml file from RSD....

Ok, many many thanks again for the info. I´m downloading the FW that you post and my Razr is GSM. When I finish I post the result here.
Hello, after a full charge and download your recommended FW, I can´t flash it through RSD. Here is the error that I can see in RSD after RSD says rebooting bootloader two times.

After that I try again to flash your FW with the eternity project tool and after the restart the phone automatically enters en the AP Fastboot Flash Mode screen and says "Boot Failure".
Also in the bottom of AP Fastboot Flash Mode screen I can read three new lines of text with the next message:

I don´t understand what this new three lines means. I am totally worried about the Razr of my friend. Any help is highly appreciated.
It seems it is a CDMA phone.... It must be having troubles with the firmware....

Anyway, now I´m downloading the FW from Yoigo - Spain, when I try to flash it again I post here the result.
EDIT.: Now I see that the bootloader version is 0A.6C, I don´t udnerstand anything.
The problem persists, I try with other GSM FW amd it´s the same with all. I don´t know what I should do. I´m start thinking that my friend Razr is totally bricked

Youre getting this error because of missing webtop partition, and I think you're trying to flash GB. If your doing it over ICS then I am not sure if you can do it directly, however to resolve your current error download the fastboot file for Asia or EU both will work fine for you and use RSD to flash it, worked for me.
Search for Razr ICS leak and you can find it, and not the OTA the complete one. I cannot post the link but it is available on Eternity project website just google it.
Not sure if it helps but I was actually on ICS and wanted to upgrade to the JB leak. Erased my CID but forgot to pull the cid.img file off the phone onto my PC.
Am I screwed or is there a way to resolve this?

You're missing the image for webtop partition. And that's why it doesn't boot.

If you have deleted the cid w/o backup then i guess you're not really screwed. You can still run your mobile but will have to boot using BP tools every time.
But you will only be able to flash the Verizon JB leak once you have restored your webtop partition.
Can you try to flash latest EU ICS rom with RSDlite.
I hope you backed-up your CID? if so, first restore it than flash EU rom.

You said you forgot to pull it out from your phone but if you had backed it up using the terminal emulator than the image will be available in the root of your sd card you can easily restore it using fastboot once you have access to your internal memory, just open command window in your pc and type : fastboot restore cid cid.img remember to keep the image file in the same folder as fastboot file and everything will work out fine.

help me .plz
Do not use the Razr Utility 1.8.2. When I tried to install a stock version of ICS it bricked my phone.
You need to download the RSD Lite 5.7 or newer and found a stock rom which is suitable to your phone and your region (country).
Then you will flash it to your phone using the RSD Lite. Some roms can show failures during the process, but I think it's normal, because I tried six times before succeed in the flashing process.
Good luck!
it is result when i use utility 1.82. i appriciate any solution.

No one can help you because you are not listening. MichelBFR suggested RSD Lite.. we understand you're using Droid utility 1.82. That's your problem. Flash a new ROM using RSD lite. If you can't figure that out, you probably shouldn't have been messing with kernels and ROMS in the first place.

[Q] Motorola RAZR XT910 brick no solution

Hi all I introduce myself, I am new to all this from xda, and I need help urgently, update my motorola razr ics 4.0.4 to JB since i was all good, the upgrade me very hard one week, after that performance the battery low too until one day it did not catch on discharge and more, when connected to the USB wall charger and carrying not connect to pc only a white LED lit, try flashing the factory cable, which resulted in obtube mode to enter the fasboot however every effort was useless since flash series of errors appeared and until this day and could not fix it because it comes up when trying to flash motorola logo and then restarts, the battery does not charge and whatever you do either through eternityprj_Fla**** Rds lite or the result is always the same "INFOPreflash validation failure" sorry if I could not explain in a good way but my English helped a translator is not the best (I'm from chile)
Greetings to all and I hope you can help me!!

Since you have updated to the jelly bean, there is not way back to ICS. But there is way how to unbrick it. Just follow this tutorial by HSD-Pilot in this topic. But the difference is you need to take your system_signed file on the RSD Lite file you flashed
