Tap on weather widget, then tap + and add city

i think the WEATHER app database is off.
i went and cleared data, cache and defaults from WEATHER MAIN, DAEMON and WEATHER.
i go back and reload the widget and it goes and searches for location. it finds the wrong city. actually, the city next to where i am. but i'm kinda right at the border.
i'll try at a diff location and see if this cures it.
btw, i went into the MAP app and that finds me correctly...

[Q] Maps live wallpaper weather setting?

When using the maps live wallpaper, one of the settings available is whether or not to show weather. What exactly is it supposed to do/show? When I enable it, the background just goes a little brighter but nothing else. Is it supposed to be used with a certain type of map? (ie. normal, satellite, terrain) With or without traffic? This is probably dumb question but it doesn't seem to work for me, lol.

Question on flip clock and weather app

I have noticed that the weather location changes as you move with the phone. Is there a setting in the weather app to stop changing location once I have my home city weather?? It seems that if I turn off gps it won't switch location but once I turn on wifi, it switches. My home is near two cities Leander/cedar park tx and I want it to stay in cedar park but changes to Leander.
Thanks,
Ian B

I would try looking in the weather app. Make sure auto locations are off and you have a permanent location set for your city

Weather not automatically updating?

First Samsung phone so maybe this is a Samsung thing. But, on my HTc phones my clock/weather widget would always update with current location and weather details. With the SIII I have to manually tap into it, then refresh it. At that point it updates the weather, but not location. Work in downtown Dallas and live in one of the burbs and the widget doesn't update location at same time as weather.
What am I missing?
Thanks.
You have to set the refresh manually since the default is to never auto refresh. Just tap the weather widget and go into settings, you'll see a spot there to set the frequency of the refresh. Used to HTC phones also, so I was wondering why the weather would never refresh heh.

Always On Display - Does Roaming Clock or FaceWidgets work for anyone?

On my Verizon S9+, in Settings/Clock and FaceWidgets I set Roaming Clock to on, and enabled all three FaceWidget options (Today's Schedule, Next Alarm, Music Controller).
My home time zone is ET (which is set correctly) and I am currently in CT so a second digital clock should appear on the AOD. It does not. This working for anybody?
As for Facewidgets, nothing shows on the AOD other than the clock and notification icons. Swiping does nothing. So do FaceWidgets work? And what does Face have to do with it?
The roaming clock only shows up when roaming on another network. Here in South Africa my service provider doesn't have coverage everywhere, so in the rural areas they have an agreement with another provider to roam on their network for coverage. The aod roaming clock shows up when I roam, then I sit with two clocks on the screen

I've been using the music facewidget. When music is playing it will show the song on AOD and I have to double tap it to bring up the facewidget. I kind of wish this extra step wasn't neccessary.
And I don't know why they called them facewidgets.

Thanks. Your post helped me determine that it takes a double tap on the AOD clock to display the FaceWidgets. Does not require music to be playing to activate. I enabled all three options and double tap will show me next alarm, upcoming appointments, and whatever media was last playing (music, YouTube, etc.).

Thanks. So "While Roaming" is literal (roaming on different network) as opposed to what would be way more useful - in a time zone different than home time zone. Fortunately, Chronus has a feature that will show local and home time zones on their clock widgets though does not work on AOD.
Isn't Connecticut (CT) in the Eastern Time Zone (ET)? Why would you expect a roaming clock when you're in the same timezone?
I haven't had my S9+ outside of my home timezone yet, but I'm pretty sure my S7 Edge displayed it based on timezone, not roaming carrier. I'd be real surprised if the S9 is different.

CT as in Central Time zone. I was in Texas at the time. So yes I was expecting a roaming clock.

Ah, sorry. Misunderstood.
Has anyone found a solution to this. I am also having the same issues. From PST to CST. Not giving me roaming clocks just one clock.

Sadly, I think it is working as designed. It does show another clock when you are ROAMing on a different network. I was just in Europe and dual clocks presented themselves in the countries I visited. In the States however, it's the same network despite being in different time zones, so only my local clock is displayed. Samsung should change this so that the time zone change is the trigger, not the network.
My workaround is to use Chronus clock widget on home screen which support local time and home time, based on time zones.

Thanks OP for the info. What a bummer.
Always on Display- Roaming Clock
I have been using Roaming clock- AOD mode almost from two years now and I was not travelling during this period but I had two different timezones on my screen. What I have discovered from using this is that, when the phone is on power mode, the AOD automatically gets disabled. So, if anyone wants AOD mode to be on, you have to disable the power mode.

Weather Widget question

Hi all,
Probably a daft question, but before I updated to EMUI 8, I had the home city set in the weather widget to be my home town - set using the GPS "current location" setting. Since the update and a factory reset, I can't work out how to set my current location, when at home, as my home city. And as the text based city search entry is slightly different to the GPS current location, it means I end up with the dual time/weather display when I'm at home.
Seems silly, but it's upsetting my OCD.
I had the same issue drove me mad, so i resolved it with the following click on the clock, click settings, world clock > Date and time, at the bottom is home city, in that setting exit the add city setting and select none, it then uses the weather location which should be your location and gets rid of the dual clocks ( well it worked for me)

Under date and time I only get the option to either use the same home city as the weather app, or add a city. There is the option in the weather app to set the home city as none, but I want the dual time/weather thing, but not when I'm at home. The app allows me to add the town, Forfar, but GPS shows up as Forfar & District.
So, no further forward at the moment.
